Job description

Join our team!

Myaware is the UK charity dedicated to helping people with myasthenia-related conditions live well, now and in the future. We’re looking for an Events Fundraiser to join our small, committed team for a maternity leave cover.

This is an opportunity to play an important role in maintaining myaware’s established events fundraising programme and providing continuity for our supporters, volunteers and colleagues. You’ll help ensure our planned events and campaigns run smoothly, supporter relationships are well cared for and agreed fundraising targets continue to be delivered.

We’re looking for someone who cares about making a difference, enjoys working collaboratively and takes a practical, organised approach to getting things done. If you have events fundraising experience and can help keep our programme running effectively during this period, we’d love to hear from you.

We look forward to receiving your application!

The role

As Events Fundraiser, you’ll help maintain the delivery of myaware’s existing events fundraising portfolio throughout the maternity cover period. You’ll coordinate planned events from promotion and practical arrangements through to on-the-day delivery, thanking supporters and evaluating results. You’ll also support event fundraisers, maintain relationships with fundraising volunteers and groups, and help ensure income targets and supporter care standards remain on track.

You’ll keep event information and promotional materials up to date, support online fundraising activity, maintain accurate CRM records and work with colleagues to deliver agreed fundraising and awareness campaigns. You’ll monitor performance against existing plans and budgets, sharing updates with the National Fundraising Manager.

The focus is on providing a reliable, consistent service and sustaining current activity, rather than expanding the events portfolio.

The role is predominantly home-based within the UK. Your own transport is essential, as occasional travel around the UK may be required. Some evening and weekend work may be needed, so flexibility is important.

About you

You’ll have experience of events fundraising and be confident coordinating activity to agreed plans, deadlines and income targets. You’ll understand the importance of looking after supporters, thanking fundraisers promptly and maintaining positive relationships with volunteers. Experience of working with and supporting volunteers is essential.

You’ll be well organised, communicate clearly and be comfortable managing several priorities at once. You’ll have good IT skills and experience using a work-related database or CRM system, along with the ability to work independently, use your initiative and stay calm when plans change.

A collaborative, flexible and practical approach will help you provide continuity for the team during the cover period.

If you’re motivated by myaware’s work and can help maintain an established events fundraising programme with care and consistency, we’d love to hear from you.

Who are we?

We also fund research aimed at finding a cure, and support specialist nurses and advisers. Through our services, members can access a range of support, including specialist benefits and welfare advice. We campaign for better medical services and work to improve understanding of myasthenia among healthcare professionals.

Myasthenia refers to a group of rare neuromuscular conditions that can affect people of any age, gender or nationality. Different forms include myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia, Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome and congenital myasthenic syndrome.
