Job Purpose
To work as a member of Gaddum Therapeutic Services which includes Counsellors, Social Workers, Art Therapists, and Play Therapists.
To provide therapeutic support to CYP who have become stuck in their grieving process following a bereavement of a significant person. This will include one to one work and occasional group work which will usually take place at the child’s school, community venue or remotely via telephone or online video.
To offer advice and guidance to professionals and carers who contact us following a child’s complex bereavement. Effective working relationships with parents, carers and other professionals will be a crucial element of the role.
Main Duties
o To be accountable to the CYP Therapy Coordinator.
o Act as an initial point of contact for family members and professionals considering a referral to the service or requesting advice and guidance.
o Provide support in the grieving process, offering advice, making an initial assessment of need and signposting to other services where appropriate.
o Following assessment, offer therapeutic intervention to CYP, supporting their adjustment to loss and building resilience. Interventions should meet the assessed needs of each individual.
o Ensure all involved with the CYP understand the complexities of a bereavement, including those experienced as a result of trauma.
o Maintain case records, monitor and evaluate your work in line with the organisations processes and protocols.
o Undertake regular reviews with family members and other professionals as appropriate.
o Ensure effective multiagency working with other professionals.
o Work to Gaddum’s policies and procedures.
o Ensure Safeguarding procedures are carried out in line with relevant legislation and Local Authority requirements.

Job Overview
The Cathedral Safeguarding Officer is the designated safeguarding professional for Lincoln Cathedral, responsible for ensuring that safeguarding is embedded across all aspects of Cathedral life.
The postholder will ensure compliance with Church of England safeguarding policy, diocesan frameworks and relevant statutory legislation, while promoting a culture of care, accountability and continuous improvement.
The role involves providing expert safeguarding advice, managing safeguarding concerns and casework, supporting safer recruitment processes, and ensuring that clergy, staff and volunteers understand and fulfil their safeguarding responsibilities.

1. Casework – The post-holder will carry a specialist caseload, providing advice and casework covering the full range of debt issues and solutions. We are seeking an Access to Justice (A2J) Coordinator to coordinate the provision of vital diagnostic immigration advice for vulnerable migrants. The role will coordinate the diagnostic advice appointment pathway from start to finish. This includes:
- Receiving, processing and triaging new enquiries for support
- Working with the Immigration Team to identify appropriate cases to be offered diagnostic advice
- Coordinating advice appointments with specialist external advisors and confirming the appointment details with the person receiving advice
- Disseminating written advice notes from the Advisors
- Coordinating follow-up actions, including referral into HMC’s Immigration Team for casework support (approx. 40% of people who access diagnostic advice are provided with onward support by HMC) or providing appropriate signposting for those we cannot offer long term support.

About the Role
Due to rising energy prices and the increasing impact of fuel poverty on local households, MVA is recruiting a full‑time Energy Navigator. This role will provide targeted advice, guidance and practical support to residents struggling with energy costs, helping them to access financial support, improve energy efficiency and reduce the risk of fuel poverty.

About the role
The postholder will provide specialised and tailored advice to clients where either their No Recourse status, or complex benefits issues are acting as barriers to them resolving their homelessness. This will be achieved through one-to-one support sessions, drop in advice sessions and advocacy with external organisations. The Migrant and Welfare Advisor will provide a holistic casework support to clients subject to immigration control who do not have access to public funds. They will use their in-depth knowledge of working with No Recourse clients, to assess and refer to suitable accommodation options, including Asylum Support accommodation, host accommodation and NRPF beds (where available). They will also hold responsibility for assessing care and support needs, making care act assessments (where relevant) and supporting clients to access strength-based opportunities, e.g. cycling workshops or other.
The Migrant and Welfare Advisor will also provide advice to clients with complex benefits issues. This may include challenging DWP decisions (via mandatory reconsiderations and appeals), advising and supporting clients with benefit sanctions and issuing pre-action protocol letters, where appropriate.

Main Duties
- Working in a psychologically-informed way, you will conduct assessments to identify care and support needs, and to establish the most appropriate accommodation options for destitute clients with no access to benefits.
- Refer into appropriate services providing support to NRPF clients, including applying for Home Office Asylum Support and provide support to the clients in all aspects of their resettlement into either Asylum Support or Host accommodation including applying for Home Office accommodation support (Asylum Support), grants, advocacy and local support agencies.
- Lead on cases initiated by clients themselves, or by other caseworkers, which are complex (for example, advising clients around sanctions) or where clients wish to challenge DWP decisions in relation to Universal Credit/HRT, Housing Benefit, PIP, Pension Credit, Carer’s Allowance or other UK benefits.
- Assess client eligibility for benefits, support clients to understand decisions and advocate for client via mandatory reconsiderations, appeals and reviews where appropriate.
- Issue pre-action protocol letters and referring to external solicitors as appropriate to challenge unlawful or unjust decisions, or unnecessary delays.
- Provide services at the Community Services Centre and occasional in-reach projects at other sites.
- Offer drop-in workshops or advice surgeries on benefits or immigration support issues, in accordance with service need.
- Contribute case studies and quotes to support fundraising proposals and applications for funding.
- Provide accurate and timely information to clients regarding immigration support and benefits advice whilst keeping up to date with changes through training and other opportunities to ensure that this happens.
- Participate in rota system for Community Services reception space, involving engaging with new and current clients, and supporting with ad hoc tasks (e.g. supporting with laundry, replenishing stores of tea and coffee etc.)
- Agree a risk assessment, safety and support plan with every client that is regularly reviewed and monitored.
General Responsibilities

Project 17 is a small organisation working to end homelessness and severe poverty among migrants with no recourse to public funds (NRPF).
We are recruiting for two similar positions. One adviser will primarily work with families and provide advice on support under s.17 Children Act 1989. The other adviser will work primarily with adults with care needs and provide advice under the Care Act 2014.
The postholders will provide written and verbal advice and advocacy for migrants with no recourse to public funds. The advice will centre on accessing support from local authorities, but will also cover elements of housing law, asylum support and other areas.
The postholders will form part of our capacity building team, strengthening other organisations to work more effectively with migrants with NRPF. This will involve designing and delivering training, staffing an advice line for professionals and creating and updating resources to support effective advocacy.
Around 80% of the role will be direct advice and advocacy and 20% will be support for other organisations.
