Alongside this, you’ll manage budgets, forecasting and reporting, ensuring ambitious income targets are met and also lead and support our Events & Community Fundraiser, helping them thrive and develop.
Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Health Information and Communications & Engagement (especially our Digital team), you’ll deliver integrated, engaging, data‑led campaigns aligned with WCRF’s mission that inspire supporters, grow income and deepen long‑term relationships.
You’ll be a creative, organised and collaborative fundraiser with experience across at least two of the following areas: events, community fundraising and digital fundraising.
You’re confident leading projects from idea to delivery, enjoy working with data and insight, and are excited by testing new approaches.
Most importantly, you care deeply about supporter experience and are motivated by making a real difference.
An interest in healthy living and cancer prevention is not essential but would be advantageous.

The Role
As our Head of Fundraising & Business Development, you will lead efforts to secure and diversify funding, building a sustainable resource base to support our global mission.
Leading the Fundraising and Business Development Team, you will drive the implementation of our resource mobilisation strategy, focusing on increasing non-ODA income and expanding flexible and programmatic funding.
Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, finance, research and impact teams, you will help close funding gaps by developing strong donor relationships, negotiating funding agreements and shaping compelling funding propositions.
Alongside collaborating with the Director of Fundraising and Communications and supporting engagement with the Board of Trustees, you will manage systems, data and internal processes that strengthen fundraising performance and ensure effective delivery.

- Gather and share intelligence on trends within the funding landscape
- Generate new fundraising ideas and opportunities with existing and new funders
- Support teams to develop fundraising plans, donor scoping and funding bids

About You
To be considered as our Head of Fundraising & Business Development, you will need:
- Significant experience leading fundraising functions in an international NGO or charity
- A proven, impressive track record in fundraising
- Experience in partnership and consortium development
- Management experience with the ability to co-ordinate, support, motivate, energise and develop diverse teams
- The ability to design and deliver income-generation strategies across multiple streams
- A strong understanding of the evolving landscape of finance and resource mobilisation for sustainable development
- A strong understanding of policy and research related to sustainable development at an international level, particularly related to Africa, Asia and/or Latin America
- Strong influencing, negotiating, stakeholder engagement and diplomacy skills
- A degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent work experience
- The willingness and ability to travel internationally

Your role
The People and Culture Lead will be working closely with the Head of People and Culture to ensure recruitment, onboarding, employee reward, employment relations, learning and development and projects serve the long-term goals of CMS.

About the role:
This is a pilot project for Advance working with women with complex needs related to their involvement with the criminal justice system. As the Complex Needs & Outreach Worker you will provide intensive, trauma-informed support to women experiencing multiple and intersecting vulnerabilities, including homelessness, domestic and sexual violence, mental health challenges, substance misuse, and social exclusion. Working flexibly across outreach and community settings, you will focus on building trusting relationships with women who may be disengaged from or distrustful of services, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are addressed holistically.
You will be based primarily at Folkestone Probation Office, with up to two days per week spent providing outreach support in the community. This position involves close collaboration with the Folkestone Women's Pod to identify women who require intensive support.
A car may be desirable for this role, though not essential.

You will be highly empathetic, able to listen without judgement, and emotionally resilient when supporting women who have experienced significant trauma and adversity. The role requires tenacity and persistence, maintaining consistent engagement with clients who may have chaotic circumstances or face barriers to accessing support. You will advocate on behalf of clients, coordinate multi-agency responses, and support women to access safe accommodation, health services, safeguarding support, and pathways to recovery and independence.

The Role
SMART CJS is looking to recruit a Trusts and Foundations Bid Writer. The successful candidate will also have some responsibility for corporate fundraising with businesses based in Bedford and beyond; this responsibility will be shared with our Community and Corporate Fundraiser.
The main responsibility, though, will be to generate income by writing bids to charitable trusts and foundations, and to statutory funders.
The role will include researching and identifying charity trusts and similar bodies which are able to make an award to SMART. It will also include keeping abreast of developments in fundraising in the charity sector as a whole, especially in the field of grant awarding and, to a lesser extent, of corporate giving.
There will be a probationary period for the role. As it generally takes six months for a grant to be awarded (though some arrive more quickly), the probationary period will need to be for a minimum of seven months, though its precise duration can be negotiated with the successful candidate.
Training will be given; the scope of the training will depend on the candidate’s previous experience.
This is an exciting opportunity to join SMART’s friendly and dedicated team. You’ll need to be able to manage your time effectively; the role is primarily self-directed. We envisage that you’ll be working primarily from our offices in Prebend Street, Bedford, though you'll be able to work from home for some of the time as well. Given the nature of our work, personal resilience is important; some of the stories we use when applying for funding can be emotionally challenging.
Our fundraising comes from regular gifts, donations from the community (individuals and groups), and corporate bodies (businesses). The majority of our fundraising income comes from grants. There will be a realistic target for the amount you need to raise; this will reflect the performance for grant applications in the charity sector as a whole and it will not be unrealistic. Fundraising is not an exact science; the assessment of performance against the targets will be fair and reasonable. The final responsibility for SMART’s fundraising rests with the trustees; they appreciate and understand the complexity of the issues involved.
Main Purpose of the Role
You will work closely with the CEO, the Chair of Trustees, the Head of Business and the fundraising team. The post involves gathering information, writing the bids, tracking the progress of submissions, and reporting back to grant awarders on how their money has been spent, if they require this.
There will also be a responsibility for corporate fundraising. This will involve building relationships with businesses in and beyond the Bedford area. The responsibility for this will be shared with our Community and Corporate Fundraiser.
Key Responsibilities
Fundraising and Bid Writing
- Research and identify suitable grant and funding opportunities from charitable trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies.
- Write and submit high-quality funding applications and proposals in line with SMART’s strategic priorities.
- Work collaboratively with service leads and front line teams to gather accurate, up-to-date data and service information for applications.
- Tailor the applications to the funder’s criteria, using storytelling effectively.
- Manage a pipeline of applications and submissions, ensuring deadlines are met and income targets are tracked.
- Maintain and build relationships with key funders, providing timely reports and updates on grant-funded work.
- Work to realistic targets and be able to provide feedback on these.
- Organisational Development and Support
- Contribute to the strategic development of SMART’s income generation plans.
- Support development of strong internal bid and grant management systems.
- Monitor success rates and provide monthly reporting on funding performance to the Head of Business and to the Chair of Trustees.
- Represent SMART CJS at funding briefings, webinars, and networking opportunities where appropriate.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in SMART’s performance management and appraisal process.
- Attend the monthly meetings of the Fundraising Committee (a sub‑committee of the Board of Trustees).
- Comply with health and safety policies and procedures.
- Undertake any other duties commensurate with the role, as required by the CEO, the Head of Business or the Chair of Trustees.
Person Specification
Whether you’re already an experienced bid-writer, or whether you think this is something that you could learn to do effectively, we’d like to hear from you. You need to have excellent skills in written English and be able to write in prose that’s clear and readily understandable to the general reader. The criteria for each grant awarder are different; you need to be able to match your bid to what they would like to fund (homelessness, mental health, relief of poverty, women’s issues and so on). You need, then, to tell SMART’s story in a way which appeals to each funder.
You need to have excellent inter-personal skills and be able to work as part of a team. While there is a strong element of self-direction in the role, you need to be able to work closely with senior management and also with the trustees; the trustees have the final responsibility for fundraising in the charity.
You will need, too, to have a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and to have a genuine interest in homelessness and the work of the charity, and a commitment to improving our clients’ lives and wellbeing.

The Data Governance Lead ensures UNICEF UK maximises the value of its supporter data by setting, maintaining, and embedding robust data governance standards across the organisation. The role leads key governance processes—including RoPA maintenance, soft opt‑in compliance, and data‑retention oversight—and works closely with Data Engineering and Data Analysis leads to align governance with wider data architecture and operational practice. As the organisation’s primary governance specialist during the EML cover period, the postholder provides expert guidance, documentation, and oversight to ensure all supporter‑data processing is compliant, well‑controlled, and clearly understood across teams.
The role requires strong experience working with complex supporter‑data environments, including expertise in data governance frameworks, and documentation of processing activities such as RoPA. Candidates should bring deep knowledge of data‑protection principles, soft‑opt‑in rules, and data‑flow or process‑mapping, alongside the ability to translate complex governance requirements into clear, practical processes. Success in the role also depends on excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams to drive organisational change.

Budget Management
- With the Head of Comms & Individual Giving, set annual budgets and programmes of activity, actively monitoring performance against these and adapting approach as necessary

The Role
The Careers Adviser will travel across East Sussex Regions to a broad range of school and college settings, delivering creative and inclusive Personal Careers Guidance, as well as assemblies and drop-in sessions as required.
Each student and each learning environment will be unique, so the opportunity lends itself well to candidates who enjoy traveling and working in varied locations, meeting people from diverse backgrounds, and educating people of all abilities.
You will routinely liaise with Careers Leaders and senior school/ college staff to arrange and deliver activities for students during the school day. Whilst most delivery will take place between 8:30am and 4pm, travel before and after these times will be required and occasional attendance at parents’ and options evenings will also be required, but you will be given time off in lieu where this is applicable.

Minimum Criteria
- Level 6 (or above) Careers Guidance Qualification
- In possession of a full, clean UK Drivers Licence with access to your own vehicle
Core Competencies
- Experience of delivering CEIAG in schools / colleges, face-to-face with young people Enthusiasm
- A willingness to deliver activities during school timetables; occasional evening events rebalanced via “time off in lieu.”
- Knowledge of Post 16 and Post 18 education and training routes for young people with and without additional needs and disabilities
- Adept at juggling activities and travel, emails and routine project admin; balancing school site work with homebased preparation and admin
- Experience of Microsoft products and ability to use them effectively, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- A commitment to undertake all necessary training for the role
