The Role

The Chief Financial Officer is a pivotal member of the Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer. You will provide strategic and operational leadership across finance and procurement, ensuring robust financial governance and delivering high-quality insight to support organisational decision-making.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead SIG’s financial strategy, planning, and operational delivery to drive organisational growth and sustainability.
• Advise the CEO, Board, and senior leaders on strategic financial decisions, presenting complex information in an accessible way.
• Lead financial transformation and improvement initiatives, optimising systems and infrastructure.
• Provide oversight of budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and risk management.

• Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and charity finance requirements, upholding the highest standards of governance and stewardship of public funds.
• Support income generation, strategic partnerships, and long-term financial planning.

Candidate Requirements

We are seeking a highly capable, strategic, and commercially aware finance professional with:

• Professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with full membership of a recognised body.
• Significant senior financial leadership experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector.
• Proven experience in strategic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Experience of leading financial transformation and change programmes.
• Experience presenting complex financial information to Boards and non-financial stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of charity finance regulations, SORP, governance, and compliance.
• Exceptional analytical, project management, and strategic planning skills.
• Ability to lead, influence, and inspire cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
• Commitment to SIG’s values, trauma-informed approach, and inclusive leadership.

Desirable:

• Relevant postgraduate qualification in finance, leadership, or management.

• Experience of overseeing IT.

• Experience in income generation, business development, or securing external funding.

About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Resettlement & Activities Coordinator to join our brand new service which is due to go live April 2026! This is an 11 bed, community based mental health service, offering short stay, trauma informed support. You will support our residents who are at risk of admission but can be supported outside of mental health hospital settings, by providing tailored support to them to help them overcome their personal barriers, and achieve their goals, to live more fulfilled lives and independent living. You will play a major part in ensuring a safe, stable and secure accommodation setting which provides the right support to resident needs. 

You will lead on delivering high quality activities and programmes which work to support individual need, whilst providing practical support to residents who require help with finding and sustaining suitable accommodation and engaging with community based services such as councils, training providers, and local authorities. The purpose of the role is to create a sense of belonging and independence through activities and support planning. No two days are the same, making this an ideal role for someone who enjoys variety and meaningful work in a supportive team environment. 

Some Key Responsibilities Include:

• Planning and coordinating individual and group activities and sessions such as days out and visits, awareness days/weeks/months campaigns, cultural celebrations and other meaningful events.
• Delivering programmes that support residents’ goals, personal development, and reintegration.
• Developing and managing calendars of activities, events, and awareness campaigns to promote social skills, community engagement, and meaningful participation.

You will have a general understanding of mental health needs of people form different backgrounds. You will be a self motivated individual who is able to be proactive in managing your own time during busy or quiet periods to ensure productivity. You will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, and will have alignment with our SIG values. You will be keen to support our residents to achieve their individual goals and support them to be the best versions of themselves. 

We are looking for:

• Experience in coordinating and/or delivering activities and programmes with people from various backgrounds
• Ability to provide advice, support and guidance to a team and residents on various areas, particularly around resettlements

• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs

About the Role

As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a key role in the growth and development of St Christopher’s fostering services. You will be responsible for the recruitment, training and assessment of foster carers, building positive relationships with placing authorities, and providing high-quality supervision and support to foster carers to enable them to deliver the best possible outcomes for children and young people.

Applicants should have:

·CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work or equivalent professional qualification, and registration with the Health and Care Professions Care Council (HCPC).

·Experience of working in fostering or adoption.

·Knowledge of relevant child care legislation.

·Ability to manage your caseload effectively and to plan and priorities work to meet deadlines.

·Excellent communication, motivation and team work skills.

·Ability to travel independently to all areas required by job responsibilities.

·Passion for building brighter futures for vulnerable young people and delivering the highest quality services possible.

As a Young People Support Worker at our service in Durham, you’ll empower residents in supported accommodation to develop key life skills, strengthen resilience, and move forward with confidence in education, training, employment, and wellbeing. Using an assets‑based, psychologically informed approach, you’ll create SMART support plans, complete risk and needs assessments, and ensure every young person receives personalised, meaningful support. 

As part of the team, you’ll respond to incidents, safeguard vulnerable clients and help new residents settle into the service. Working proactively with colleagues and external agencies, you’ll use clear communication, strong boundaries and steady problem‑solving to maintain safety and wellbeing throughout the night.
