We are looking for a thoughtful and dedicated In Memory Officer to join our Fundraising and Communications Team. This is a deeply meaningful role, offering the opportunity to shape how we support people to remember and celebrate those who matter most to them, while helping to generate vital income for our hospice services.

In this role, you will lead the delivery and development of our in-memory fundraising programme, creating compassionate and engaging ways for supporters to honour loved ones. You will take ownership of key initiatives such as Light up a Life and Memory Meadow, while also exploring new opportunities for people to connect, remember and give. Alongside this, you will play a central role in shaping our bereavement communications, ensuring supporters receive thoughtful, timely and sensitive engagement throughout their journey. 

This position brings together creativity, organisation and empathy. You will be confident managing multiple projects, using data and insight to inform your work, and delivering high-quality communications across a range of channels. Just as importantly, you will have the emotional intelligence and judgement needed to work in sensitive situations, ensuring every interaction reflects the care and compassion at the heart of Trinity Hospice.

Collaboration is key to success in this role. You will work closely with colleagues across fundraising, communications and clinical teams, as well as building relationships within the local community, including funeral directors and supporters. We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Fundraising Development Manager to join the Bright Shadow team at a pivotal moment for our charity.

Responsible for developing and delivering Bright Shadow’s long-term income strategy, you will play an important role at the heart of our organisation. We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Finance and Operations Manager to oversee our financial operations and ensure the effective management of our resources. This role is central to maintaining our financial health and supporting our strategic goals. • Update monthly actuals and track variances within the cashflow.

About the Nightlight Crisis Service

Hertfordshire Mind Network (HMN) has been delivering Nightlight, part of Hertfordshire’s crisis alternatives pathway, for the last 8 years. We are proud to provide urgent support, crisis intervention and emotional support to people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire as an alternative to statutory pathways. We provide support to adults across Hertfordshire 7 days a week, 365 days a year through our Helpline, Crisis Cafes and 24/7 Crisis House.

We aim to provide a safe space for people in crisis to talk and feel supported, be listened to without judgement, access relevant support with problem solving and facilitate access to external services when necessary.

As a senior member of our diverse team, you will work closely with service users in crisis by using a person-centred approach to ensure that each individual is supported with dignity and respect. By honouring the individual experience of each service user, we are able to respect their autonomy as well as encourage and facilitate positive steps towards management of crisis and recovery.

The objectives of HMN’s Nightlight Crisis provision is to:

• Improve the mental and emotional wellbeing of people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire.
• Provide 24/7 365 support for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis.
• Increase early access to help for people experiencing a mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to other services provided by HMN and other third sector and statutory providers.
• Remain a source of independent support for all service users.
• Provide an alternative pathway to people in distress and crisis to support better outcomes and reduce the demand on statutory crisis services and emergency services.

About the Role

As a member of the HMN Senior Management Team (SMT) and the Service Manager for our Crisis provision across Hertfordshire (Nightlight), you will be leading the total provision of our 24/7 365 week Crisis House, Daylight, Helpline and Crisis Cafés. You will also oversee our A&E Liaison Project, supporting staff operating in A&E to divert individuals into community crisis provision.

You will ensure the provision is safe, effective and person centered; be accountable for achieving KPI’s, data reporting to Commissioners and the wider SMT & CEO, and develop the service using evidence based data, strategic thought & planning.

The successful candidate will be highly proficient manager with proven knowledge, skills and abilities as a leader and manager and have experience of developing and delivering mental health services within a health and social care setting, strong experience of managing the delivery of contracts, working to deadlines and achieving outputs, significant proven knowledge and skills around services working with adults with mental health needs and demonstrable understanding of relevant legislation and policies such as the Data Protection Act, Safeguarding and Protection of Vulnerable Adults, Safeguarding Children and the Mental Health Act and they will have a willingness to travel to locations across Hertfordshire.

About the Role

The Finance officer is responsible for vital financial functions, including recording all financial transactions and assigning income and expenditures to appropriate funds, projects, and cost centres, processing BACS payments and assisting with processing of month end schedules, among other duties. This role is integral to the overall administration of the charity.

What You Will Do

• Process sales and purchase invoices, payments, receipts and banking.
• Reconcile bank / credit card / fixed assets accounts monthly together with processing relevant journals.
• Manage Debtor and Creditor accounts and ensure that outstanding accounts are settled in a timely manner
• Preparation and processing of month end schedules as requested e.g., salary journal.
• Assisting with year-end audit procedures and deal with relevant queries and questions.
• Assisting the Director of Finance and Resources and Finance Manager in the review and implementation of all finance policies and procedures.
• Assisting the Director of Finance and Resources and Finance Manager in budget, forecast and management accounts preparation.

Person Specification

Essential

• AAT Qualified or equivalent, OR Qualified by experience, OR actively working towards an accounting qualification or willing to undertake professional development with further training.
• Experienced in using accounting software is essential
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel and Word.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Understanding of the need for professional confidentiality.
• Highly organised and efficient, able to work under pressure.

Desirable

• At least 2 years’ hands-on experience in a comparable role in a charity/not-for-profit organisation.
• Relevant knowledge of SORPs related to charities

About the role

This role is office based in Rochdale Police Station and the ideal candidate will be based 3 days per week with Victim Support and a couple of days with external agencies who deliver direct support to children.

As an IDVA you will:

• provide pro-active, high quality, frontline service to victims of domestic violence & abuse through on-going risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse to keep safety central to all services for victims of domestic abuse.
• work with survivors to ensure they have on-going support to manage their safety

Key tasks will include:

• Identify & assess risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk checklist.
• Focus on & prioritise high risk cases providing a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service, through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with high risk victims of domestic abuse assisting them in accessing services to keep them and their family safe.
• Developing individual safety plans to meet client's needs as identified in the needs and risk assessment.
• Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims including exploration of legal and civil options, housing, health and finance and support clients through the criminal justice system.
• Empowering clients to recognise the features and dynamics of domestic abuse present in their situation.
• Providing long-term support to victims of domestic violence & abuse, who's ex partners are attending the Drive perpetrator programme.

You will need

• A good understanding of domestic abuse & its impact.
• To understand risk assessment, safety planning & risk management for victims of domestic abuse
• Knowledge of Safeguarding & legal responsibilities relating to this.
• Theoretical, practical & procedural knowledge of civil and criminal justice remedies for victims of domestic abuse.
• Experience of direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
