About the STP Training team
The STP training team works closely with the Science Technology Platforms to design and deliver technical training for internal and external scientists, including in person, hybrid and online training. The team also support Crick technical staff to develop teaching and learning skills to ensure our training is fit for purpose and follows pedagogical best practice.
About the role
We are seeking a proactive and highly organised coordinator to support the delivery of our growing external training programme. You’ll coordinate in-person training events, support marketing and communications activity and help keep projects running smoothly. This is a central role in ensuring strong attendees’ recruitment, high-quality training delivery and the successful launch of a new external training laboratory, working closely with scientists, platform staff and external partners.

The Role
We are seeking a proactive and organised individual to join our team as Administration Manager. As Manager of a small team of administration assistants, you will play a crucial role in coordinating administrative support across our Perth and Aberdeen offices, ensuring the smooth running of the organisation by providing support across several of the charity’s functions including fundraising, finance, marketing and operations.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a similar office or administration management role, ideally within the charity sector. They will be proactive in building positive relationships across the charity and will be confident managing projects, budgets and external suppliers. They will have experience of using CRM systems in a fundraising context, be solutions-focused and have a strong commitment to our mission.
This role will be based from our headquarters at Perth Airport, and occasional travel to our Aberdeen base will be required. Role Responsibilities
Oversight of Spear Programme
Spear Foundation is a 4-week initial phase, consisting of 2 group sessions and a 1:1 with each trainee
per week, in which we coach young people around skills and mindsets to support them in returning to
work or education, and equip them with the skills to stay there.
- Lead group sessions of around 12 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work.
- Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach.
- Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Spear, as well as their ongoing progress and
sustainment of work or education.
Partnership liaison and relationship management
- Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective.
- Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.
Line Management and training
- Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development.
- Be line managed by Spear to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.
Church Community
- The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by Tabernacle Baptist Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church team and immersed in an exciting faith community.
- You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members, and help to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme.
- Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.
Site Management and set-up
- Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening.

The Role
We are currently looking for a Team Leader to join our team at our new Superstore in York.
As a Team Leader, you will oversee the day-to-day operation of one of the departments of the superstore. This includes leading a team of employees (shop assistants) and volunteers, ensuring accurate accounting and handling of assets, delivering high standards of customer service, and adhering to all charity policies and procedures. You will lead by example and ensure that employees, volunteers, supporters, donors, and customers understand how their contributions are making a difference to the lives of people in Yorkshire and beyond.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

Running the department commercially, including display and merchandising, stock management and generation, maintaining shop standards, layout of store and opening and closing of store.

Supporting the management team in delivering ambitious sales targets whilst maintaining shop standards, commerciality and compliance.

Assuming Duty Manager responsibility in the absence of the store management team.

Opening and closing the store if required as duty manager and responding to alarm call-outs as a listed key holder if required.

Working a flexible shift pattern to reflect the business needs, including weekends and pre-retailing hours.

Ensuring the department is presented to the highest standards with attractive visual merchandising and attractive window displays.

Ensuring that all charity policies, shop standards and operations procedures are communicated effectively to all retail assistants and volunteers and are maintained and followed consistently.

Line managing the Retail Assistants, ensuring you develop and retain talent by conducting regular performance development reviews, implementing action plans, training, and supporting personal development and growth.

Taking on leadership of employees across the whole store when acting as Duty Manager.

Support in managing the sales and profit of the Superstore and where possible exceeding agreed targets across categories (Donated stock, cash, benchmark gift aid, average selling price, sell through, stock processing).

Ensuring accurate record keeping of items donated and the amount paid for each item for Gift Aid tax reclaim purposes.

Create a welcoming professional atmosphere and deliver high standards of customer service for all customers and supporters.

About the role
