More about us:
At Battersea, we aim to never turn away a dog or cat in need of help. We give each one lots of love, expert care and get to know their characters and quirks so we can find them a new home that’s just right for them. Join us and help us be here for every dog and cat, wherever they are, for as long as they need us.
Acceptable use of AI:
At Battersea, we value expertise. We recognise each candidate that applies to us will have a range of expertise they can offer us, so we want to hear about this in your own words. We understand the support that generative artificial intelligence (AI) software can offer but it can also lead to numerous applications presenting as generic and impersonal. This makes it difficult to gain understanding of your unique experience.
To best showcase yourself, we encourage you to write your responses without the assistance of AI. If you require the use of AI software to aid in completing your application, we ask you use the generative responses as a prompt for writing your answers and avoid copying and pasting. You must also ensure the information presented in your application accurately reflects your experience.
Closing date: 13th September 2026, 11.59pm
All applications must be submitted before the closing date advertised. We reserve the right to close the vacancy early if a high volume of applications is received.

Can you turn complex information into engaging digital content that drives reach and impact? Do you enjoy improving websites, increasing audience engagement and helping colleagues embrace digital-first ways of working? Are you equally comfortable working with web developers, creating accessible content for professional audiences, and using analytics to show what success looks like? If so, we'd love to hear from you!
About the role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic, multi-disciplinary team at the Centre of expertise on child sexual abuse (CSA Centre), as we work to improve understanding of child sexual abuse and help make children safer.
As we approach our 10th anniversary year, we are looking for a talented and proactive Senior Digital Communications Officer to help us grow our online reach and influence our main audiences. You will be an experienced digital communicator who understands how to maximise the potential of digital channels to inform, educate and inspire others to take action.
As part of our brilliant Communications and Policy team, you'll help deliver both our communications and digital strategies, ensuring that the CSA Centre continues to provide high-quality, accessible and user-focused digital content as we drive greater awareness of our sector-leading research, practice tools, and digital support hubs for victims and survivors, among multi-agency professionals, the voluntary sector, and wider support services. You'll be our champion for digital-first communications, helping colleagues embrace new approaches, improve collaboration, and maximise the impact of their work.
You'll play a pivotal role in the ongoing development and improvement of our digital presence, working closely with external web contractors and internal colleagues to enhance user experience, accessibility and search performance. From managing website content to identifying opportunities for innovation, you'll ensure our digital channels and outputs reflect the quality of the CSA Centre's work.
We're looking for someone who can:
- Lead and champion digital-first communications, helping colleagues make the most of digital channels and opportunities.
- Manage and improve website content, governance and user experience, ensuring accessibility and quality standards are embedded throughout.
- Use SEO, analytics and audience insight to drive continuous improvement and demonstrate impact.
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders, contractors and colleagues, confidently advising, influencing and challenging where appropriate.
- Create engaging digital content and assets across websites, social media, email newsletters and other online platforms.
- Support the implementation of digital systems and tools, including SharePoint and OneDrive, to improve collaboration and information management.
- Balance competing priorities while maintaining high standards and delivering excellent results.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring digital communications experience, strong knowledge of content management systems such as WordPress or Drupal, and a good understanding of accessibility, user-centred content design and digital publishing best practice. You'll be equally comfortable working independently and collaboratively, using your judgement, creativity and expertise to help deliver meaningful outcomes.
Most importantly, you'll be motivated by the CSA Centre's mission and committed to helping us reach the people who can make a difference to children's lives.
CSA Centre roles are currently funded until 31 March 2027, in line with our current grant funding arrangements. This will be reviewed in late 2026, as future funding for the CSA Centre from 2027/28 onwards is confirmed.
Although this contract has a permanent status, please be aware that this post is subject to funding currently to 31 March 2027 and therefore should this funding not be extended further, you may be subject to a redundancy consultation or a TUPE arrangement.
We're here to help children and young people feel safer, happier, healthier and more hopeful – and have somewhere they feel they belong.

We are looking for an experienced and organised administrator to provide practical support during a busy three-month period.
This varied, hands-on role will help keep our office running smoothly while supporting communications, trustee meetings, our AGM and charity events, including a sponsored charity run.
You will:
- Respond to telephone calls, emails and visitors
- Provide day-to-day administrative and office support
- Organise meetings, prepare papers and take accurate minutes
- Help coordinate our AGM and other events
- Create engaging social media content and simple promotional materials
- Support communications with supporters, partners and families
We are looking for someone who is reliable, friendly and highly organised, with experience in administration within a charity or community setting. You will be comfortable managing several priorities, working independently and following tasks through to completion.
Experience of minute-taking, Microsoft Office and creating social media content is essential. Familiarity with Canva would be an advantage.
This is an ideal short-term opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and can quickly become a dependable part of a small, friendly charity team. We are looking for someone who will be immediately available, ideally able to start by the end of September.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
No two weeks in this role look the same. One day you might be drafting a letter to persuade a government minister to champion prevention; the next, building the funder case for a piece of research that hasn’t been written yet, or turning a dense set of findings into a chart a journalist can’t ignore.
ILC’s Head of Storytelling and Impact will make sure our evidence reaches, and moves, the people who can act on it – policymakers, politicians, business leaders, journalists and the public. This role turns ILC’s research into stories and turns those stories into funding and impact.
Every role at ILC, this one especially, involves relationships with funders and commercial partners. We’re a charity that operates like a commercial organisation – this role has to make the case for our value, not just communicate our findings.
You’ll also, sometimes, be putting our evidence in front of people who would rather not hear it – industries with a vested interest, politicians with other priorities, or audiences who assume ageing isn’t their problem. Part of the job is being comfortable with that, and persuasive anyway.
We want someone who thinks like a publisher and a marketer as much as a press officer – curious about formats, protective of ILC’s funding, and unafraid to pick up the phone to a politician.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
