About the role

As Events Manager, you’ll lead Birmingham Hospice’s events programme end-to-end, combining strategic planning with hands-on delivery. You’ll work closely with the Senior Fundraising Project Manager to shape an ambitious events programme that strengthens Birmingham Hospice’s brand while delivering real financial impact.

You will:

• Act as the events lead within the Income Generation team, sharing insight and supporting colleagues across the charity
• Lead the development and delivery of the annual events plan, creating a dynamic, costeffective programme that inspires supporters and drives income
• Line manage two Events Officers, providing regular 1:1s, development support and inspirational leadership
• Manage a varied portfolio including mass participation, third-party challenges, adrenaline events and special events
• Deliver against agreed income and expenditure budgets, contributing to an overall events income target of around £250k, including a £50k headline event
• Track income and expenditure day-to-day, produce post-event evaluations, and use learning to continuously improve future activity
• Identify new growth opportunities, using market insight and sector trends to expand participation and reach new audiences
• Build strong internal relationships across clinical, retail and corporate teams to promote events and maximise engagement
• Ensure all events meet high standards of health & safety, compliance and supporter care
• Oversee volunteers, apprentices and placements, ensuring a positive and professional experience for everyone involved

About you

You’ll be a confident, motivated events professional with charity sector experience and a strong track record of delivering successful fundraising events. You’ll bring:

• Proven experience delivering fundraising events, ideally including mass participation and third-party challenges
• Experience working in the charity sector
• Experience of line managing one or two staff, with a supportive, confident leadership style
• Strong event delivery skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines
• Experience managing budgets and contributing to income targets
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a collaborative approach
• A proactive mindset, keen to test new ideas and grow audiences
• Emotional intelligence and resilience, with sensitivity to the nature of hospice work

Employee benefits

The role is Birmingham-based, primarily at Selly Park, with regular working from Erdington. The team typically spends at least two days per week onsite, alongside event delivery. Hybrid working is available but not contractually formalised, and compressed hours are supported. Please ask if you have any questions around flexible working.

Myaware is a charity dedicated to ensuring that all people living with or alongside myasthenia can live well, now and in the future. We are looking to expand our impactful welfare rights advice service and an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team.

You would be working with our Professional Services/Welfare Rights Manager to advise our members on their welfare rights.  You would also work closely with our National Support Service Team who provide a listening ear and advice on living with myasthenia for our members as they navigate their diagnosis and live with the condition.

We are looking for someone with at least 2 years' recent experience of providing in-depth advice on welfare benefits, housing, employment law and other enquiry areas.  You must be genuinely motivated by our cause and keen to make a difference to those living with a chronic illness and their families and carers.  It is an exciting time to be part of the charity, with a new CEO and a new national growth strategy.

The role 

As Welfare Rights Adviser, you will support our Professional Services/Welfare Rights Manager in delivering advice to members of myaware via telephone, email, Teams and Zoom channels.  You will provide detailed benefit checks and advice and support with disability benefit applications, supersessions, reviews and mandatory reconsiderations/appeals.  You will also advise on employment law, including the Equality Act and right to reasonable adjustments at work, driving and transport, heath and social care, housing rights, grants and utility discounts.  You will provide initial advice and signposting for other areas.such as financial advice and immigration queries.

You will also be required to support Zoom sessions for members, create social media posts, write newsletter content and support our research and campaigning work.

About you 

We require someone with a background of welfare rights advice who is compassionate, non-judgmental and who can listen and communicate to a high standard. This role is for someone who is a team player, with a commitment to providing an excellent service to all members, no matter who they are and what their background. You must be able to give and receive feedback sensitively and objectively, while maintaining professionalism and an awareness of appropriate boundaries with members. 

Who are we? 

Myaware is the only myasthenia charity in the UK.The myasthenias are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender or ethnicity.  Myasthenia Gravis, Ocular Myasthenia and Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome (LEMS) are autoimmune conditions whereas Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome (CMS) is an inherited genetic condition.It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK. 

We are working hard to raise awareness of myasthenia, as it is a little-known condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families and offer advice and tips for living with the condition.  Members of myaware have full access to a wide range of support services and events including our welfare rights service.

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors.  We campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals.

South East London Mind’s award-winning Mindful Mums Programme aims to build resilience and prevent pregnant and new mums from developing mental health problems during the perinatal period (pregnancy up to 1 year). This year marks the service’s 10-year anniversary, supporting over 4,000 parents across South East London.

Our peer support volunteers are at the heart of what we do, helping us to deliver weekly wellbeing groups, walking groups and one-to-one befriending for new mothers and birthing people. Their dedication makes a real difference, and we are committed to supporting them every step of the way.

We are seeking a proactive Senior Peer Support Coordinator to lead on the provision of a high-quality peer support volunteer programme for over 50 volunteers. This role is responsible for all aspects of the volunteer life cycle, from marketing and recruitment, delivery of induction training on perinatal mental health and psychoeducational tools used within Mindful Mums, through to reflective supervision, delivering our CPD programme and finding the right role for each volunteer within the service. 

You will work alongside Senior Project Coordinators and the Service Manager to ensure we deliver on our targets, supporting with programming our wellbeing groups and one-to-one befriending. You will be a skilled people manager and effective communicator, responsible for the line management of staff and ensuring the service is represented at stakeholder and partner community events. You will be a confident facilitator, as some group delivery will be expected.

Like us, you will be passionate and knowledgeable about the role of peer support within recovery-focused perinatal mental health and the NHS Competence Framework for Mental Health Peer Support Workers. You will be experienced in supporting volunteers, providing supervision and acting as a mentor in their professional development. You will be highly organised with experience of project management in a target-driven environment.  An ability to work independently but collaboratively, to be proactive and highly organised is essential for this role.

Abianda is a London-based charity that works with young women and girls affected by criminal exploitation and violence, and the professionals who support them. We exist to ensure young women are no longer hidden in our communities and can live free from harm and abuse. We aim to bring about a culture shift in how services are delivered to young women and girls, so that they can access support that works for them when they need it.

Abianda is seeking an experienced and collaborative Young Women and Girls Practitioner (1:1) to work with young women and girls aged 13-25 affected by criminal exploitation and violence as part of our flagship service, the Star Project.

As the Young Women and Girls Practitioner (1:1), you will take young women and girls through a tailored programme of activities, supporting skills development and critical thinking. Job Details:

We are looking for a highly motivated and gifted communicator to craft Spotlight’s messages and help us achieve real change. 

You will be joining a small dedicated team of anti-corruption experts and campaigners for this busy, varied and multi-skilled role. We have a full programme of work for the year ahead with projects on illicit finance, political integrity, and corporate accountability for financial crime. 

Candidates should be exceptional all-round communicators, with significant experience in achieving impact through a range of channels from digital and social media to print, broadcast and events. They will have a track record of driving communications efforts to achieve campaign or policy objectives, as well as experience of developing messages for a wide range of audiences, and translating complex expert subject matter into newsworthy content. Spotlight on Corruption is a UK based charity which aims to end impunity for corruption, promote political integrity within the UK, and ensure the UK acts as a global leader on fighting corruption. Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver Spotlight’s day to day communications and public messaging to ensure we achieve real reforms and impact in tackling corruption and protecting UK democracy. 

• Secure strategic and influential media coverage by developing and maintaining relationships with journalists, developing ideas for stories, and identifying key communication opportunities to get Spotlight’s messages across, including by monitoring daily news.

• Build Spotlight’s reach and influence online with target audiences (politicians, civil servants, journalists, civil society, and funders) by maintaining Spotlight on Corruption’s website, social media accounts and mailing lists, and working with colleagues to develop engaging content.

Do you live in Cardiff or the surrounding area?

As a senior community fundraiser, you’ll will an important part of the team building Breast Cancer Now’s presence in Wales, with a particular focus on South Wales. 

We’re looking for someone who is an experienced relationship builder, someone who can find and develop new supporters.  You’ll need excellent local knowledge, and the enthusiasm to develop the local region.

The successful candidate will also be part of the team working on our large-scale project supporting and growing Asda Tickled Pink, our award-winning partnership with Asda and CoppaFeel! which has already raised over £100 million.

You’ll work directly with passionate colleagues across Asda stores in your region driving new fundraising initiatives, inspiring communities, and celebrating their incredible successes.

No 2 days will look the same as you travel, connect and engage supporters to help us grow income to deliver our mission.

The role is initially offered as an 18-month contract with the potential to become permanent.

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

Confident in approaching new contacts and are experienced in developing new relationships from scratch. This may currently be in a customer service, account management or stewardship role.

Experienced in managing and building new and established relationships with a focus on retention and income growth.

Enthusiastic, proactive, organised and unafraid to test and try new ideas.

This role will involve being out and about in the community you’re building, so you must be able to work independently outside of the office in varying locations and enjoy being busy.

Previous experience working in a charity is not required. The ability to speak Welsh would be desirable.
