The role
The Events Assistant will support our Engagement Officers in the day-to-day coordination and delivery of the events and outreach, such as our Fellas’ Forums and Fellas’ Fairs. Working alongside the Engagement Officer, Engagement Manager, Office Administrator, and wider team, they will assist in the promotion, organisation, facilitation, and evaluation of events and engagement activities, including large-scale events.
They will support a range of administrative and practical tasks, demonstrating strong organisational skills, the ability to multitask, and confidence in completing delegated responsibilities. This role will require travel across Essex and occasionally beyond. Please note some events will take place during evenings and weekends.
The Events Assistant will also contribute to wider engagement initiatives, including both traditional and innovative outreach methods, such as digital engagement or film-based activities, supporting project outcomes and community participation.
Working as part of the HWE team, the Events Assistant will help ensure that events, projects, and activities are well-coordinated, inclusive, and delivered in line with the principles and standards outlined in the HWE Strategic Plan.
To work with HWE staff, and especially the Business Planning Team, to support the delivery of high-quality and well-organised HWE ongoing forums and events. This includes:
project planning, to ensure that the aims, objectives, and outcome plans are in place and that the intended activity is likely to achieve those outcomes; that suitable milestones and monitoring are in place; that budgets are realistic and represent best value; and that risks have been assessed.
project delivery, including working with and coordinating HWE ambassadors and staff, as well as external partners/stakeholders, suppliers and contractors, to ensure that HWE projects and events are delivered according to plan;
ensuring that project delivery is on time and on budget, and that risk mitigations are in place;
working with the HWE communications team to ensure that there is a PR and communications plan in place, and that it is implemented as appropriate;
ensuring that projects/events are evaluated appropriately, that outcomes are monitored, and that feedback is captured and provided to stakeholders.

Are you a young *Christian who is passionate about issues of justice and peace? Do you want to explore the intersection of faith, policy, and politics, and potentially pursue a career in one of these fields? The Joint Public Issues Team (JPIT) is recruiting to two full time paid internship positions to start in September 2026.
Interns work as part of a small ecumenical team on a diverse range of tasks and initiatives including communications, policy, campaigning and supporter engagement, contributing to the public advocacy and political engagement work of the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches.
JPIT is a partnership between the Baptist Union of Great Britain, the Methodist Church and the United Reformed Church, and the Church of Scotland is an associate partner. Its purpose is to help the Churches to work together for peace and justice through listening, learning, praying, speaking and acting on public policy issues. It is a team which brings together around ten staff working across the denominations. In recent years it has focused on issues around poverty, the economy, refugees and migration, the environment, peace and conflict, and politics.
These internships provide opportunities to develop skills in campaigning, communications, research, and policy within a dynamic team environment. There will be opportunities for professional and personal learning and development to equip the intern for further employment after their time on the internship. Whilst we are looking for some evidence of certain skills and experience, candidates will have the opportunity to develop relevant skills during their time in the role.
They are full time paid roles with fixed-term contracts to the end of August 2027, and a salary of £26,936.00 per year (we are committed to paying at least the London Living Wage). You’ll build on your passions, strengths and interests as you get involved in key areas of TLG’s work, contributing to impact that truly matters.
You’ll be based primarily within one TLG team, giving you the space to grow specialist skills and make a real difference. Your placement will be matched to your unique strengths and interests. Alongside this, you’ll gain wider experience through inter‑departmental projects, enabling you to develop a broad understanding of the charity sector and how different teams work together.
Examples of teams your role could sit within include Fundraising & Supporter Engagement, Marketing, Communications & Advocacy, Programmes, Executive Support & Operations, Digital/IT.

You’ll be the driving force in drawing together your own unique mix of diverse experiences to maximise your career development and enhance your impact. Some of what’s on offer includes:

AMMF is the UK’s only charity solely dedicated to raising awareness of and funding research into cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer). The charity works closely throughout the UK with clinicians, healthcare professionals, researchers, policy makers, patients and their carers, as well as actively collaborating across Europe and globally.
The role of the Fundraising Support and Admin Officer is to deliver high quality, responsive fundraising support across all areas of fundraising, and to drive forward AMMF’s fundraising activities, strategy and relationship development with supporters and funding partners, including the development and use of social media, and Microsoft Office, to achieve this.
It is expected the Fundraising Support and Admin Officer will develop an understanding of AMMF’s aims and objectives and its policies and procedures.
