Working closely with our Communications Committee and Board, you will coordinate campaigns, produce newsletters and reports, manage our website content, and help develop effective marketing strategies. You will also provide essential administrative support, maintain key documents and procedures, and ensure communications activity runs smoothly and efficiently.
We are looking for someone who is a confident communicator, able to juggle multiple tasks, manage their own time effectively and work flexibly around the seasonal demands of the charity. Above all, you will share our passion for supporting children and families and be excited about contributing to a friendly, collaborative and purpose-driven organisation.
While this position will be performed remotely, occasional on-site attendance at our Essex and Cumbria locations is an essential part of the role. Travel between sites will be required from time to time.

About NUM:
National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is an award-winning charity with a mission to ‘end all forms of violence against sex workers.’ NUM provides a mechanism for sex industry workers to report crimes and harm they experience and share this information within their communities to warn others of potentially dangerous individuals and situations. We have a dedicated casework team of industry experts who support sex workers to further access criminal justice remedies and other services as determined by these victims/survivors to cope and recover from crimes they experience. We also host a range of other projects in racial justice, mental health, drop-in support (Scotland), and vocational exploration.
Role Summary:
National Ugly Mugs is looking to recruit a Victim Support Case Worker to provide greater access to justice and protections for sex workers based in or touring in London. The role will also involve contributing to the writing and quality assurance of harm reduction tools and resources, ensuring they are accurate, accessible, and responsive to the needs of sex workers. The post holder will work across multiple agencies, from victim support services, Citizens Advice, SARCS, specialist sex worker support organisations to those providing services to sex workers, and sex worker-led groups. They will work with police and Met officials via working groups or direct engagement with BCU SPOCs to support reporting to police.
The Victim Support Case Work plays a part in maintaining a wide network of practitioners and officials, both local and national, to ensure that we are victim-centred and provide resources in ways that are individualised and safest for sex worker survivors as part of prevention, victim support and recovery. As such, the postholder will engage with other sex worker-led groups and rights activists, and will be provided with relevant training and clinical supervision to support them in this role.

The Role:

What we are looking for:
Job Title: Major Gifts and Partnerships Lead
We’re looking for a confident, experienced fundraiser to lead major-gift fundraising — securing transformational gifts from high-net-worth individuals while building wealth-adviser relationships that generate referral leads. You’ll own the full pipeline: prospecting, cultivation, making direct asks, closing and stewardship.
The ideal candidate will be excited to cultivate networks of wealth managers, private-client teams and other advisers to HNWIs, and to convert adviser introductions into committed support. You’ll also prospect independently for major gifts outside those referral streams.
To succeed you’ll master three distinct fundraising pitches: a business case for advisers; an impact case to persuade donors to support our portfolio charities; and a systems-change case to win backing for GRP’s operating costs (salaries, office costs, etc) to keep the charity running fee-free.
You’ll be comfortable making direct asks for funding, with evidence of having closed high-value gifts or multi-year commitments. You’ll be willing to roll up your sleeves and get hands-on with everyday cultivation tasks. You’ll thrive in a small team, taking initiative and juggling priorities. Crucially, you’ll care deeply about climate and nature.
Experience required:
Substantial experience in frontline major gifts fundraising (as a guide, likely 5+ years), or an exceptional track record in adjacent fields (private client advisory, philanthropy advisory, etc).

Major gifts to GRP’s operating costs
- Prospect, cultivate and convert major gifts to GRP’s core operating costs.
- Prepare business-case and budget materials that explain the strategic case for core funding.
- Pursue appropriate institutional core funders (trusts, foundations, family foundations) and draft proposals where needed.

About the role
In this role we will trust you to work with other team members on a caseload of clients delivering personalised support to them. You will proactively engage with our clients and provide a hand so they can overcome barriers, move into independent living and sustain a tenancy. This includes mental health problems, social isolation, challenging behaviour, finance and debt, alcohol and drug abuse.
