About Us
Bridges Outcomes Partnerships (BOP) is a not-for-profit social enterprise that works alongside Government, community groups and specialist Delivery partners to design and deliver vital services that support people to improve their lives, in areas ranging from housing and employment to education and health & wellbeing.
The role of BOP spans project development (working with Government and others to design and launch the service), project management (coordinating the delivery phase, managing performance, and liaising with the various stakeholders) and project finance (funding the project until it starts to earn outcomes payments). Our own funding comes from a group of pioneering social investors, including The Office for Civil Society, Big Society Capital, Pilotlight, Trust for London, who, like us, are motivated by improving lives and changing the system for the better.
About the opportunity
As a cross-team housing caseworker, you will work alongside individuals who are at risk of homelessness, often during times of heightened stress and uncertainty. Rather than focusing solely on immediate needs, your approach will centre around building trust, listening to each person’s story, and helping them take informed, practical steps toward safe and sustainable housing.
Alongside housing support, you will help people address wider support needs, including finances, health, wellbeing and life skills.
You’ll work across our network of charity partners, bringing vital capacity and support to local teams during times of increased demand or staff shortages. Your flexible, compassionate presence ensures that people continue to receive timely, high-quality support, no matter where they first reach out.
This role is fundamentally about partnership: with the people you support, the services you collaborate with, and the teams you join. You’ll help individuals understand their housing rights and choices, navigate local systems, and build the confidence and skills needed to move forward independently. Together, we aim to not just relieve homelessness, but prevent it, by enabling people to secure lasting solutions that meet their needs.
Key Responsibilities
1. Listening, Assessing and Planning Together
-
Work in partnership with individuals to understand their current housing situation, risks, and immediate concerns.
-
Co-create Housing Plans that reflect each person's strengths, goals, and preferences, while identifying practical next steps toward secure housing.
-
Identify when specialist or longer-term support may be needed and work collaboratively to make appropriate referrals.
2. Empowering Through Support and Connection
-
Build trusting, non-judgemental relationships that respect each individual’s dignity and lived experience.
-
Support people to access housing options, benefits, and other community services that promote long-term stability.
-
Encourage and enable self-advocacy, while offering reassurance and guidance throughout the journey.
3. Navigating Systems and Opening Doors
-
Maintain a strong understanding of local resources across housing, welfare, employment, and wellbeing.
-
Connect people with the right services at the right time, advocating where needed to remove barriers to access.
-
Help individuals build the skills and confidence to engage with public services independently.
4. Working Across Charity Partners
-
Be deployed across different partner organisations within our charity network, responding to local pressures and adapting quickly to diverse environments.
-
Provide short- to medium-term casework that enhances existing team capacity and ensures continuity of support for people at risk of homelessness.
-
Maintain high standards of person-centred support regardless of setting or location.
5. Information Sharing and Case Recording
-
Keep accurate and respectful records of client engagement, plans, and outcomes using agreed systems.
-
Follow all data protection and confidentiality protocols, contributing to a culture of trust and transparency.
-
Share insights that support continuous service improvement and learning across partners.
6. Collaboration and Partnership Working
-
Work constructively with colleagues from across public, voluntary, and community sectors to coordinate holistic support.
-
Represent the service positively, contributing to shared efforts in preventing and relieving homelessness.
-
Communicate openly and clearly with internal teams and external partners to align support and improve outcomes.
7. Promoting Inclusion and Long-Term Independence
-
Support individuals to build resilience and reduce isolation through access to meaningful activities, networks, and learning opportunities.
-
Champion inclusive, strength-based approaches that support people to regain control and plan for a more secure future.
8. Safety and Wellbeing
-
Adhere to all organisational health and safety procedures, taking personal responsibility for your own safety and that of others.
-
Apply safeguarding principles and respond appropriately to risk and concern in community settings.
9. Team Learning and Development
-
Engage in supervision, reflection, and training opportunities across partner teams.
-
Share learning and insights from placements to contribute to service development.
-
Stay open to feedback and committed to your own professional growth and development.

About the Spokesperson Network
The Spokesperson Network trains and supports people to speak on television and radio. We are substantially boosting the number of progressive, diverse voices in this space to challenge opposition narratives and boost coverage of underrepresented issues.
The programme works by training, coaching and providing PR booking support for spokespeople from civil society working on social, environmental and economic issues. So far we’ve had over 11,000 high-profile media bookings including Question Time, Newsnight, Good Morning Britain, LBC, Channel 4 News, BBC 5 Live, Today, Sky News and ITV News plus many more.
Purpose of the role
The Press Officer is central to our flagship Spokesperson Network programmes, placing people in broadcast media on a regular basis, developing and maintaining media contacts and meeting the needs of participants on the Spokesperson Network.
Your main day-to-day role will be identifying opportunities for members of our Spokesperson Network, and then coordinating between them and producers to secure TV and radio opportunities for them. You will build relationships with journalists - and increasingly seek our print and digital opportunities too.
Most days will involve spotting opportunities in the news early in the day that would be relevant for the spokespeople we have on our books, checking in with the various spokes to see who is available, formatting pitches to put out on our media list and then fixing up the details when media bids come in to ensure that bookings happens smoothly and effectively.
Requests for the members of the Spokesperson Network happen regularly outside of office hours and during the weekend. Part of this role will involve sharing responsibility to be available to respond to these bookings and fix them up when they happen. You will be recompensed for this with TOIL.
This project is part of a wider Communications Hub in which you’ll play an active role helping to develop the overall strategy and direction of the project.
What you will be doing
Here are the key responsibilities of this role:
-
Identify relevant stories in the news and subsequently pitch and book spokespeople into broadcast media (television and radio) and respond to media requests.
-
Train spokespeople to speak in the media and provide media skills training for campaigners and other organisations.
-
Build new media relationships to widen the range of producers working with the Spokesperson Network
-
Support spokespeople, taking into consideration the ways in which broadcast media work interacts with people's identities and lived experience.
-
Work with others in the Comms Team on the development and implementation of effective messaging.
-
Identifying clippable content, creating clips.
-
Play an active role in the wider Comms Hub, attending and feeding into key messaging and narrative development.
-
Play an active part in the whole NEON team, contributing to organisation-wide plans
Who you are:
-
Experience in journalism, communications or media relations
-
Experience of building and maintaining relationships with journalists
-
Proven understanding of anti-oppression work and commitment to tackling all institutional forms of oppression, bigotry and exclusion
-
Experience working in the economic and social justice campaigning community in any kind of capacity
-
Excellent writing and editing skills, including an eye for detail
-
Excellent interpersonal skills and communicating appropriately with different stakeholders
-
The ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
-
Ability to work well under pressure, at a fast pace, meet the demands of a dynamic organisation and accommodate changing circumstances
-
Ability to work well in a team and also independently.
-
An affinity with NEON’s aims and objectives and organisational values of solidarity, generosity and respect
Preferred/Optional
-
Experience of working with an organisation with a substantial media profile

About NEON:
NEON is a capacity and infrastructure building organisation that seeks to accelerate the transition to a new economy by building the power of social movements - because without strong social movements we lack the power we need to win. We deliver trainings, develop resources, facilitate collaboration and work in partnership with key movement allies, especially in the climate, housing and migration movements. Our focus is on strengthening the organising, communications and strategy skills of social movement organisations, as well as deepening movement alignment, as we believe these are key to building collective power. As part of our work, we are looking to change the starting point in social movements from “what do we agree on” to “what can we win together?”
We also aim to mirror the change we want to see in social movements in the way we run the organisation internally. To that end, we are committed to building a workplace centred on joy, care and justice, whilst maintaining healthy boundaries of what a workplace is. We do this because it is important to live our values and principles, and because strategically an organisation with a healthy culture and strong foundations ensures we are always one step ahead in the fight for a just and sustainable future.
To build a culture and community that lasts, we organise around three values:
● Solidarity - we’re here to change the system and that requires working together across issues and sectors that aren’t normally in the same room. This means placing anti-oppression at the heart of our work and building the power of people most often affected by injustice to change the leadership of our movements
● Generosity is about sharing our time, resources and learning with one another as we support each other’s work. It means being open and honest with one another, especially when we hit problems, and thinking creatively about how we positively build from there
● Respect is the bottom line for all relationships in NEON. It means being respectful of different backgrounds and life experiences and giving space for all voices to be heard. This often means listening more than we talk and being open to changing ourselves as a result of what we hear.
You can also check out our website for more info on NEON.
How to apply
We don’t want to make this process too complicated so please complete and return the application form attached to the job listing on our website.
We'd also be really grateful if you could complete our Equal Opportunities Monitoring form equally linked on the website. This is optional, anonymous, and separate from your application, so it won't be seen by the shortlisting panel or affect your application in any way.
We know that people from certain backgrounds and identities are often excluded in progressive movements and we’re committed to doing what we can to correct this.
So:
-
We particularly welcome applications from marginalised groups, especially people of colour and other ethnic minorities, people who identify as LGBTQIA, Disabled people and those who identify as working class or have done so in the past.
-
We know the work goes way beyond "diversity", it's about making the space inclusive too. So we are continuously working on that at NEON. So far this includes tangible things like a flexible work policy so people have genuine flexibility around where and when they work and a 28 hour week as standard; a gender-neutral parenting/leave policy, an anti-oppression strategy which is held at senior level given how important it is to the organisation. It also includes the day-to-day work of creating psychological safety for everyone at NEON and celebrating the wisdom of black, indigenous, queer, Disabled and other cultures in the way we work and behave
There are no formal education requirements for this role. As long as you can show us you have the skills we don’t mind where you got them from! Also important to us is your potential to learn and grow in the role so even if you don’t have 100% of the skills listed we want to hear from you. If you fancy a chat about the role or have any questions about NEON in general, you can reach out to Matthew Butcher or Molly Fleming via email (on our website). You can request a call back via this email if you prefer.
We will treat the data you provide in your application in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Application deadline: 13 October 2026, 11.59pm

About Starlight
Starlight is the national charity for children's play in healthcare.
We believe that healthcare should be a more humane and child-centred experience for every child. We work across the UK to champion the importance of play during treatment, care and recovery, supporting children, parents and carers, and healthcare professionals.
Play is integral to children's wellbeing. It can help children experience greater agency, autonomy and control during healthcare, express thoughts and feelings, build resilience and make healthcare settings feel more welcoming and safe. But play is still too often overlooked or treated as an optional extra within children's healthcare.
Our ambition is to end preventable trauma in children's healthcare.
Our new strategy is taking Starlight into an important next phase. We want to build on the expertise, evidence, influence, partnerships and brand positioning we have developed over recent years and use them to create greater impact for children and families.
That means becoming a stronger voice for change: increasing understanding of children's experiences of healthcare, influencing the systems and people who shape children's healthcare, strengthening our relationships with supporters and partners, and communicating with greater clarity, consistency and impact.
Our brand and communications have an increasingly important and broad role to play. We need to tell powerful stories, challenge assumptions, engage people emotionally and intellectually, and make it clear why children's healthcare needs to change.
This is an exciting time to join Starlight and help shape how our purpose, personality and ambition are experienced by the people who matter most.
Our Strategy and the Creative Designer
Our ambition is to influence how children's healthcare is understood and experienced.
To do that successfully, we need communications and creative work that is distinctive, compelling and purposeful. We need to communicate with different audiences in ways that help them feel, understand and ultimately do something differently. As our Creative Designer, you will play an important role in making that happen.
Working as part of the Influence, Insight & Communications team and reporting to the Communications & Brand Manager, you will develop ideas and produce high-quality work across campaigns, fundraising, influencing, digital communications, events and organisational communications.
You will also help to evolve how Starlight looks, feels and expresses itself, ensuring that our creative work is distinctive, consistent and recognisably Starlight.
You will work closely with our Digital Content Creator, who leads the production of channel-native video and social content. You will contribute visual concepts, campaign identities, graphics, storyboards and brand treatments to help this content feel coherent, distinctive and recognisably Starlight.
You will help Starlight make effective use of new creative technologies, including AI, where they can improve efficiency, enable experimentation or extend our creative capability. We want to use technology to help us work smarter and create more, without compromising creative judgement, authenticity or quality.
You will work with colleagues across Starlight and, where appropriate, with external creative specialists to ensure our communications are engaging, accessible, authentic and effective.
Please apply for this role through Charity Job with your CV accompanied by a supporting statement which demonstrates how your experience matches the person specification and highlights your most relevant, recent experience for this role.
**Please include your portfolio, examples of, or links to your work**
In your application, we’d love to hear about what inspires you about Starlight’s purpose, beliefs and values with a statement that is very personal to you and gives us an insight into who you are, and how you would contribute to Starlight’s success with your experience, expertise and approach.
The role will close at 9am on Monday 28th September and we are actively recruiting for this post on a rolling basis.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.

WHO WE ARE
We are Zarach, the children’s bed charity, and we’re on a mission to end child bed poverty, helping children get a good night's sleep, and the chance to thrive at school.
In our eight years as a registered charity, we’ve captured the hearts and attention of many individuals, community groups, businesses and funders who want to support us on our mission. We’ve also been given an incredible media platform from which we have raised awareness of child bed poverty at local, regional and national levels. This support and awareness has seen us deliver over 18,000 bed bundles to children to date!
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Zarach is well established in West Yorkshire and Doncaster. We are now continuing to grow across the Yorkshire region, with a launch in Hull, Bridlington and Goole in October. We are looking to recruit a Family Engagement Officer to join our dedicated Yorkshire team. This is a unique opportunity to play a key part in the growth and development of our vital service as we expand into the East Riding.
As our ideal candidate you will be happy to travel in and around Hull and the East Riding. You will be able to travel regularly to meet with the team and conduct home visits across the region. You will also need to be able to attend our Leeds Warehouse, or other areas in Yorkshire when required. You will be confident to work autonomously in your area while being supported remotely by a wider regional team.
You will be someone who has good experience of the broad range of day-to-day case management, working with external partners, volunteer support, and administrative activities that working in a dynamic charity brings, and someone who enjoys the busyness and variety of this. While not essential, as training will be provided, experience working alongside schools will help you hit the ground running as you build relationships and support local families.
Alongside your family support and engagement-related skills and experience, we’ll be looking to see that you have a genuine care for our mission and, as such, are self-motivated to do a great job and be a values-led member of our team.
Ideally, you’ll have experience of working with vulnerable families and managing volunteers in the charity sector, due to some of the specialties that come with this, such as safeguarding and partnership working. But charity experience is not essential if you can demonstrate an appetite and track record for continual learning and development across your working life to date.

Combating poverty, improving mental health and wellbeing,

Do you want to get out there and work in a role where you will support an end to rough sleeping in Bristol?
St Mungo’s Bristol Street Outreach Team will be recruiting to a number of Outreach Worker roles as part of an increased number of opportunities across rough sleeping services. This could include working with focused groups of clients including those residing in vehicles on the roadside or people who have been rough sleeping for a particularly long time, some of whom are part of the ‘Target Priority Group (TPG)’.
Our belief is that rough sleeping is an intrinsically harmful and dangerous activity both for the individual and for the wider community. Therefore, we take a proactive and assertive approach to supporting people away from this activity. Our aim is to support people to recover from the effects of rough sleeping and move away from a street lifestyle permanently.
Working as an Outreach Worker you will:
- Work with people who are rough sleeping to assess their needs and deliver a person-centred support that meet peoples individual needs and connect them to suitable housing options. This could also include working alongside people who are residing in vehicles on the roadside.
- Balance time in the community, on Outreach, working with people where they are sleeping or spending their days, alongside time in the office completing administrative tasks and attending meetings.
- Help people access vital services like healthcare, substance use support, and adult social care.
- Work in partnership with multi-disciplinary teams and agencies across the city to meet client’s individual needs.
It’s not always an easy job, but the opportunity to work with different people every day, helping individuals experiencing homelessness and the local community end the harms of rough sleeping can be highly rewarding.
You will work on a weekly shift rota including mornings, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. This helps us to ensure we are available to support people experiencing homelessness when they need us the most. Shifts can vary particularly during periods of extreme weather.
About you
We are always on the lookout for people who share our ambitions. You don’t need direct experience to succeed in these rewarding roles; if you are ready to get out there and support our clients, we encourage you to apply!
- You will have good communication skills with the ability to network and build effective relationships with a variety of people, a good understanding of the complex issues faced by homeless people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services.
- If you think you have the resilience and patience to work with people who may have complex needs and challenging behaviour, we will provide you with the tools and training to support clients to end rough sleeping for good.
- Due to the nature of this role a full UK or equivalent driving license is desirable for this post, and/or competency in cycling.
St Mungo's are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace. We strongly encourage applications from all under-represented groups.

What we offer
- Excellent Development and Growth Opportunities
- A Diverse and Inclusive Workplace
- Great Pay and Other Benefits
Applications for the Brent position are now closed. Applications for the Newham position are open until 22nd September.
About the roles
Since 2018, the LRU has grown its membership to over 7,000 renters across London. Through our six branches, we support renters to take action to transform the housing system. Organising in communities, the LRU runs training, facilitates peer support, takes collective action and campaigns on local issues, to grow our power.
The purpose of this role is to support the growth and collective leadership of our branch members in and around the Brent branch or the Newham branch. This work will support the union’s fundamental goal of transforming the housing system, in alignment with our values and strategy agreements. The work will include recruiting and activating new members, and facilitating leadership from a broad base of renters, with a particular emphasis on working with those who face the worst impacts of the housing crisis.
How we work at LRU
You will be part of the LRU staff team alongside 15 other staff, who work with members to build the power of the union by organising, campaigning, training and facilitating peer support and member solidarity actions. We expect staff to uphold the union's values, and work together to implement collectively agreed strategies. Each staff member has a line manager, and the staff team are accountable to the elected member Coordinating Group, and to each other.
Key decisions are held by branch and elected member Coordinating Group, with staff inputting into and facilitating these decisions.
Job description
This role is varied, and can look different month-to-month. This job description outlines some activities that you will be doing every month, and some activities that you will only do from time-to-time.
Building the power of the union
- Organising with a branch to identify and build a base building campaign or bigger dispute on an issue that aligns with our strategy, moves renters to action and builds the base of the branch, particularly among renters facing precarity and oppression. This includes supporting a branch to develop their organising plan, building teams, facilitating meetings, research, outreach, social media, action planning or anything else that helps build an effective campaign. Normally an organiser would only work on one main project or campaign within a branch.
- Providing support to members to set up and run teams, organise actions and make sure branch meetings and weekly meetings are welcoming and effective. Setting up teams or meeting structures might be the main project that an organiser works on before moving on to working on a bigger campaign.
- Recruiting and activating members. This includes carrying out regular outreach sessions with members and making weekly calls to follow up with new contacts. As much as possible, this will be linked to a branch’s main campaign and/or the union’s strategic priorities.
- Participating in cross-staff regular outreach and calls sessions. This can include weekly organiser call sessions, outreach sessions in other branches, and facilitating welcome calls.
- Supporting the branch to link its activity to the broader democratic structures of the union, including cross-union strategy, trainings and working groups, and upholding LRU values and agreements.
Building leadership
- Building the skills and leadership of member organisers by having ongoing coaching 1:1s with 3-5 role holders and member leaders in the branch to support them to lead the branch, run teams and support others to become organisers. It will also occasionally include working with other staff to prepare and run skills training for members.
- Having organising conversations with members who face housing precarity or oppression to support them to get more involved in the teams in the branch.
- Making sure the database is kept up to date, including tracking engagement and recording call outcomes, and supporting members to use it.
- Responding to requests for support via the website.
Building collective capacity
- Supporting members to develop, participate and mobilise as part of cross-union campaigns, to tell their stories and take part in communications work.
- Taking part in team meetings and participating in the staff Organising Team.
- Joining staff working groups when capacity allows.
- Supporting democratic processes.
- Fostering collaboration between branches.
- Inputting into staff decisions and LRU strategy discussions.
Person specification
Essential
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability build deep, trusting relationships across difference, and including people in distress
- Experience of recruiting and activating people through outreach activities (door-knocking, and street stalls) and 121 organising conversations
- Ability to empower and motivate our members to take action
- Experience of organising workplace or community-based disputes or campaigns, or collective fighting on material issues

About the role:
Recovery is about more than addressing immediate needs. It is also about having somewhere to belong, opportunities to build confidence and skills, meaningful connections with other people, and the chance to take part in the community around you. As our Recovery and Opportunities Co-ordinator, you’ll help make those opportunities a reality for people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage in our St John's Mansions service.
You’ll develop and coordinate our Recovery and Opportunities programme, creating activities and opportunities that reflect what clients actually want from their services and communities. You’ll work alongside clients, colleagues, volunteers and peer supporters to co-produce activities, build participation and make sure people are supported to get involved in ways that feel meaningful to them. You’ll also help equip others with the confidence, training and resources they need to deliver opportunities effectively.
A big part of the role happens beyond our services. You’ll build strong relationships with community organisations, local residents, statutory and voluntary-sector partners and other opportunities across Islington, opening doors for clients to access volunteering, education, cultural activities and wider community life. You’ll represent Single Homeless Project (SHP) at local forums and events, champion social value across our services and look for creative ways we can contribute positively to the communities our clients are part of.
You’ll also help us understand what is making a difference, monitoring participation and outcomes and using what we learn to strengthen the programme over time. It’s a role with plenty of scope for creativity and initiative, where you can turn relationships, ideas and client feedback into opportunities that reduce isolation, strengthen belonging and help people move forward with greater confidence, independence and purpose.
About you:
- You have experience engaging and motivating people experiencing multiple disadvantage, including people who may have previously found it difficult to engage with services or opportunities.
- You can develop, coordinate and facilitate engaging groups, activities or programmes, and understand how to encourage meaningful participation from different people.
- You’re confident building relationships with community organisations, residents, colleagues and external partners, and can turn those relationships into practical opportunities for clients.
- You understand the importance of social value and social impact and can think creatively about how services can contribute positively to their local communities.
- You’re an engaging communicator who can work collaboratively across different teams, represent a service externally and bring people together around a shared goal.
About us:
We’re London’s leading homelessness charity – and we get things done.
In a city where hundreds are forced into homelessness every day, our work has never been more needed or more challenging. And we’re not shying away. We’re rolling up our sleeves to make change and helping over 10,000 Londoners every year. We prevent homelessness, provide safe places to live and give people the opportunity to rebuild their lives and transform their futures. And we never give up.
We’re here for Londoners wherever they are on their journey. We start with trust, building relationships that help people feel safe, supported, and ready to move forward. Every day, we put people first in everything we do, challenging injustice and barriers that keep people from the safety, stability and opportunity they deserve. We stand alongside people as they rebuild and shape a future that feels their own.
Joining Single Homeless Project means joining a team that’s bold, compassionate and determined to do better for the people we support and for each other. You’ll work alongside colleagues with lived experience, in a space that’s trans-inclusive, disability-friendly, and actively striving to be anti-oppressive and equitable.
We’re not perfect, but we’re real. We listen. We learn. And we push forward, together. Because this isn’t just a job. It’s a chance to lead with empathy, spark change, and help build a London where no one is left behind.
