About the Role
We’re hiring a Safe Ground Family Counsellor to support men in custody at HMP Forest Bank, located in Manchester.
As a Family Counsellor, you will identify the needs of men and their families in custody , providing anti-punitive, anti-shame, tailored support to maintain and grow family ties for individuals whilst in custody . You will deliver person centred therapeutic support through group, one-to-one and triage sessions, helping participants improve relationships, develop emotional awareness, and build healthier communication. The role includes family counselling clinics, group programme support, and joint work with prison teams and external partners. You will work in a trauma-informed way to support rehabilitation and strengthen family connections. Key Responsibilities Include:
Support men who may be facing challenges with family relationships, father-child contact, emotional regulation, trauma, communication difficulties and maintaining positive relationships during custody
Deliver group and one-to-one counselling sessions, as well as facilitating family counselling clinics
Support full time delivery of programmes such as Fathers Inside and Man Up, which have received national recognition and are delivered across custodial and community settings
Create and maintain tailored support plans

About You
We’re looking for a compassionate and motivated individual who understands the needs of men in custody, the importance of anti-shame and anti-punitive practice in these systems, and the importance of family relationships in supporting rehabilitation. You will be comfortable working in a custodial environment and able to build trust with individuals from a range of backgrounds. You will be proactive in managing your workload, able to adapt within a busy service, and confident working both independently and as part of a wider team, often challenging prison cultures. You will be keen to support men in custody to achieve their individual goals and support them to be the best versions of themselves.

Quest for Learning is an education charity working to close the gap for primary school children in Oxfordshire who are falling behind due to disadvantage.
We work closely with schools to deliver targeted, evidence-led literacy and numeracy programmes that help children build the skills, confidence and foundations they need to thrive. Purpose of the Job

RF is looking for a proven self-starter to support our advice services and preventative initiatives. Role Requirements
This role aims to address the additional barriers and needs faced by overindebted individual, ensuring they are supported in navigating these challenges and can focus on the debt advice process effectively. As a Money Engagement Officer you will work across our various community partners, delivering money mentoring support and income maximisation services to local communities with the aim of promoting financial resilience and wellbeing. You will also provide assist in collecting essential documents and information for advisers to progress their cases. You will maintain accurate client and project records and contribute/support Manager(s) with effective project monitoring and reporting. You will capture learning to share with project stakeholders to help inform Rooted Finance’s wider approach to financial inclusion services.
Key functions and impact of the role will include;
Outreach and Engagement: Actively engage overindebted individual through various outreach initiatives such as community events, workshops, and partnerships with local organisations to raise awareness about debt advice to encourage individuals to seek help early and facilitate this through practical 121 support.
Support and guidance: Provide ongoing support needs to keep people with money worries engaged in the debt advice journey. Often people struggling with money worries have additional barriers and needs, this role focuses on the 'support function' which will be available to help people navigate barriers so they can focus on the specialist debt advice needed and offered through Rooted Finance and other support services.
Referral and Collaboration: foster a cohesive relationship to build partnerships and to collaborate with debt advice services, community organisations, and other stakeholders to facilitate referrals and ensure a seamless transition into debt advice services. Maintain strong partnerships with service providers to enhance accessibility and support for individuals in need.
Empowerment and Education: Equip our services users by providing ‘digestible’ financial education, coaching, and advocacy to help them make informed decisions, improve their financial literacy, and build long-term financial resilience. Data Collection and Reporting: maintain accurate records of all outcomes, advocacy and support provided to all individuals, diligently record outcomes to track the effectiveness of the triage process and measure the impact of the engagement efforts on increasing access to debt advice and other services.
Duties & Responsibilities: The main duties will include
1. Work closely with RF advice team in identifying client’ needs to work together to implement a holistic approach to supporting individuals.
2. Manage a joint caseload with debt advisers to ensure successful engagement in the debt advice journey, monitor progress and maintain diligent records across all systems

4. Delivering both 121 and group sessions to build individuals’ financial knowledge and resilience.

Actively connect clients with a wide variety of services through signposting for additional help around health, wellbeing, housing, welfare, immigration, social support and financial advice.
8. Identify aftercare support to help individuals increase their ability around ongoing financial capability and literacy skills and to reduce further and future financial exclusions
9. Working with, and recruiting clients to, our Lived Experience Steering Committee
10. Provide one to one/group sessions to encourage and increase engagement in the debt advice service
11. Develop marketing and creative initiatives to promote and engage with service users to increase uptake in debt advice service and increase full journey completion.

The Communications & Engagement Officer is responsible for the planning and creation of day-to-day communications across our owned channels, with a particular focus on social media. They are also responsible for managing social media interactions and outreach, and for creating selected content for Breaking Barriers’ website.
The post holder helps the Senior Communications Manager to ensure that organisational content complies with brand guidelines. And they play a key role in data management – maintaining our multi-media asset bank and the storytelling data within our Salesforce CRM.
This role will suit a team player who is able to build strong relationships across Breaking Barriers to support content creation, ethical storytelling and impact. The post-holder should be comfortable in a fast-paced environment, solution-focused and creative, whilst having a good eye for detail. And, of course, they should have a passion for stewarding, inspiring and mobilising audiences through high-quality, engaging communications.
Key Responsibilities
1. Communications planning and delivery (60%)
· Work with the Senior Communications Manager to manage the communications calendar.
· Collaborate with colleagues across Breaking Barriers, especially the Income & Engagement and Services teams, to source content that reaches, engages, stewards our key audiences – including partners, funders and individual supporters.
· Plan, create and schedule written and multi-media (graphics, videos, photos) content on social media platforms.
· Plan and create or coordinate longer-form content, including case studies, articles and blogs.
· Contribute to the delivery of integrated communications campaigns that support income generation, brand awareness and positioning amongst key audiences.
· Support the continual improvement of our communications by monitoring and evaluating their own work and implementing recommendations.
· Support the development of communications, engagement and fundraising strategies and input into team planning.
2. Community and supporter engagement (30%)
· Manage and engage with our organic social media communities.
· Pro-actively engage with relevant organisations and individuals via social media, in line with agreed strategies.
· Help develop and manage our growing community of storytellers with lived experience of life as a refugee.
3. Other responsibilities (10%)
· Update storytelling data in the Salesforce CRM, and undertake other administrative tasks.
· Take responsibility for maintaining Breaking Barriers’ asset bank of photographs, videos and graphics.
· Advise and support colleagues on compliance with brand guidelines, and create brand resources.
· Represent the Public Engagement team at selected events, including photographing or filming key moments and activities.

Person Specification
Essential
· Demonstrable knowledge of and/or interest in refugee, employment or migration sectors
· Experience in a communications or fundraising role (this doesn't have to be in the UK)
· A demonstrable understanding of key communications and fundraising principles, whether through direct experience or study, and including:
o Understanding audiences
o User journeys
o Developing key messaging
o Audience stewardship
o Working with brand guidelines
· Experience of creating high quality campaigns or content to inspire or drive action
· Experience creating written and multi-media (photography/graphics/video) content for social media, websites and/or emails
· Strong copywriting, editing and proofing skills, and the ability to tailor content for different audiences and channels

This role will be the senior technology team member on the new website project team, ensuring that the solution designed and delivered primarily by our website development partner is using modern approaches and tools. · Act as the internal technical owner of the new website platform, providing strong technical leadership, governance, and assurance across its design, build, and operation.

· Experience acting as a technical owner or lead for an app or website.
· Experience working with modern code management tools e.g. github, bitbucket) and of version control/code branching approaches.
