As a member of our Leadership Team, you will provide strategic leadership for learning and development across the hospice, ensuring our staff and volunteers have the skills, knowledge and confidence to deliver outstanding palliative and end-of-life care.

What is the role?
Reporting to the Director of People, you will lead the development and delivery of our Learning and Development strategy, ensuring it aligns with our organisational priorities and values.
You will:
· Lead learning, education and organisational development initiatives across the hospice.
· Develop leadership and management capability at all levels.
· Oversee mandatory training, compliance and workforce development programmes.
· Work closely with clinical leaders to support education, competency development and best practice.
· Drive a culture of continuous learning, engagement and improvement.
· Build strong partnerships with external organisations, including healthcare and education providers.
· Lead and develop a passionate and dedicated Learning and Development team.
About you
You will be a strategic and collaborative leader with significant experience of leading learning, development, education or organisational development functions.
You will bring:

This is an exciting opportunity to lead IRMO’s Advice programme. As our Senior Advice Programme Manager, you’ll manage a dedicated team and oversee a range of initiatives that provide high-quality information and advice services to respond to the changing needs of our community.
The Advice programme provides trusted information, resources, advice and casework in Spanish and Portuguese on key areas of need, including immigration, welfare entitlements, housing and homelessness prevention. IRMO is accredited by the Advice Quality Standard (AQS) and the Immigration Advice Authority (IAA) at Level 3. We are also members of Advice UK and receive second-tier support from Southwark Law Centre.
Alongside this, the programme works with local health boards to run initiatives designed to improve access to health services, such as HIV testing, sexual health and family planning advice and Chagas disease testing. You will also oversee IRMO’s Community Support service, which manages community enquiries daily at our Brixton centre and through our helpline, provides emergency crisis support and coordinates our Community Interpreting service, as well as connects service users with internal or external support.
These initiatives support people facing difficulties and help them build the skills and confidence to navigate complex systems. All of our work is shaped by the views of our beneficiaries, keeping our services relevant and responsive.
As Senior Advice Programme Manager, you’ll lead the strategic development of the Advice programme, ensuring our work is high-quality, impactful and responsive to the needs of our community. You’ll help grow the programme by strengthening existing partnerships and developing new ones.
To succeed in this role, you’ll bring solid experience as both a project and line manager, with a track record of overseeing multiple initiatives, delivering against KPIs and communicating impact clearly. You’ll be confident in managing people and priorities, with a leadership style that brings out the best in your team.

The role
We are excited to be seeking a Head of Transformation to help shape not only major change initiatives, but also the culture, behaviours, and ways of working to enable better long-term outcomes and experiences for patients, families, staff, and volunteers. The role will embed a more structured, transparent, and outcomes-focused approach to organisational delivery, by developing frameworks and standards, helping teams deliver change consistently and confidently.
This key leadership role, reporting into our Director of IT, Estates and Digital Transformation, will help to build our culture to support our organisational transformation, by encouraging accountability, collaboration, planning, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will work closely with colleagues across clinical, operational, corporate, and support services, visibly developing relationships and bringing people on board to ensure change, both digital and non-digital, is delivered in a practical, supportive and proportionate way, while remaining fully aligned to organisational priorities and governance requirements. The role will lead, develop and coach a small team of Project Managers and Business Analysts, encouraging full business analysis capability across the organisation, while adopting an appropriate risk management approach. The role will make a tangible impact across the work of Phyllis Tuckwell, both clinically and operationally.
About you
How this is delivered, through the building and developing of relationships across the organisation, will be key to the success of this role.
We are looking for a people-focused and values led individual who can combine strong delivery expertise with the ability to influence behaviours and culture. Proven experience leading organisational change and delivery frameworks is vital, along with a strong understanding of project and change management principles. The knowledge, and experience of embedding of business analysis capability would be of advantage. Qualifications or experience in areas such as PRINCE2, MSP, Business Analysis, Lean Six Sigma, or organisational change are helpful. Whilst previous experience within a health care or a hospice environment is not essential applicants should understand the importance of working in a people-focused, regulated environment.
The successful candidate will have excellent stakeholder management, emotional intelligence, and facilitation skills; being able to challenge constructively while maintaining trust and engagement. They should hold strong communication skills, being able to explain complex concepts in accessible language, along with demonstrated leadership skills.

About this key role
You will deliver targeted ETE interventions through one-to-one support, group work and co-working alongside FFT caseworkers, plus support young people to progress into and sustain education, training and employment outcomes. You will also provide specialist advice and consultation to FFT caseworkers to strengthen ETE delivery across their caseloads, while also co-working complex cases requiring specialist input while maintaining FFT case ownership and delivering structured group work within PRUs, Alternative Provision and community settings.
We will also count on you to support engagement with training providers, employers and education settings and to contribute to developing clear pathways into ETE opportunities. Supporting families where appropriate to improve stability linked to employment and training and contributing to service-wide planning, delivery and continuous improvement of ETE provision are also key elements of this key role.

Sitting within SSAFA’s Welfare Operations directorate, you will be responsible for improving our approach to data within our Casework services. This will include reviewing our processes, data capture and systems and making recommendations for improvement, where appropriate. You will also provide robust evidence to support evidenced based decision-making through your data analysis and visualisation skills. Critically, you will bring this evidence to life, demonstrating what difference we make to beneficiaries. You will have the ability to discuss complex data in a way that is engaging and easy to understand for a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
SSAFA has recently brought together colleagues in digital and data roles across the organisation to form a taskforce with the aim of using technology to help our staff and volunteers communicate, share information and collaborate, and to develop products and services so that we can reach more of the people we support increasing our impact. This role will have the opportunity to collaborate with these colleagues to deliver this aim with a particular focus on data and systems. Your goal will be to support a culture of continuous improvement informed by the work you do.
SSAFA’s current Strategic Plan highlights, ‘Understanding Need,’ as a core area of importance for the charity. To support our work in this area, SSAFA has recently received funding to develop an impact framework for our Casework service to demonstrate the difference we make to the Armed Forces Community. You will form a key part of the team working to deliver this.
About the team
SSAFA’s Welfare Operations directorate delivers direct support to our beneficiaries in the Armed Forces Community. You will be based in a team focussing on measuring the impact of this support and ensuring our senior management are provided with evidence to enable continuous improvement of our services.
You will also collaborate with colleagues across the organisation, including IT, Fundraising and Marketing and Communications; all of whom will have an interest in your work and will use it to promote SSAFA.
About you
You will need to be experienced in data analysis and visualisation and have led projects focussing on improving data. You will be a good communicator and be able to approach diverse teams to understand their current practices and future needs with regards to data. Bringing the beneficiary experience to life through data, you will be confident in explaining your findings to non-experts to enable them to make informed decisions.

The Vacancy
Research in Practice has supported evidence-informed practice in adult social care for 21 years. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Continuing Professional Development and Learning Officer to join our adult’s team.
This senior role is ideal for an experienced facilitator who has substantial experience in adult social care or related sectors. While the position requires engagement with, and understanding of, research it is not a primary research role.
The successful candidate will have experience designing and delivering programmes, whole day workshops, webinars, and other events for a range of audiences, including senior leaders. The role requires a strong understanding of research, policy, ethical and legal frameworks relevant to practice and the ability to translate complex evidence into accessible learning. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.

We protect children by working with people who pose a risk and diverting them from causing harm. We support individuals and families who have been affected by abuse. And we help professionals who work with families to create safer environments for children through delivering risk assessments, interventions, training and consultancy.
About the role
We are recruiting a Scotland Practitioner to join our multi-disciplinary team in Edinburgh. The role will involve delivering psycho-educational individual and group work to adults who are concerned about sexual thoughts, feelings and behaviours towards children. Assessments of clients and answering calls to our Scotland helpline will be a key part of this role. The majority of referrals will be adults who are under investigation or have been arrested for online sexual offences, including accessing child sexual abuse material.
This is a highly rewarding role making a genuine difference to children’s lives. It involves working within a friendly, supportive and hardworking team which is committed to keeping children safe from sexual harm.
This is a fixed-term contract to 31st March 2027 in line with external funding. We are optimistic that this post will be extended beyond this, pending continuation of funding in 2026-27.
