What You'll Do
As Senior Remediation Operations Manager, you’ll lead Peabody’s customer facing fire remediation function and its communications with residents and leaseholders, owning the strategy, standards and outcomes for every household affected by remediation works.
This role is accountable for delivery of the Code of Practice for the Remediation of Residential Buildings across all buildings in the programme and for meeting the leaseholder and resident engagement requirements of Homes England Cladding Safety Scheme grant funding. The successful candidate will be leading two Customer Fire Safety Operations Managers and a wider team of 17. They will set direction, assure quality and evidence compliance at senior leadership, funder and regulator level.
What You'll Do
- Set the strategic direction for resident engagement and communication across Peabody's Fire Remediation Programme.
- Own delivery of the Code of Practice for the Remediation of Residential Buildings, ensuring compliance is evidenced across all buildings in the programme.
- Lead delivery of resident and leaseholder engagement requirements within Homes England Cladding Safety Scheme and Building Safety Fund grant agreements.
- Co-create and implement a resident engagement programme that delivers meaningful communication, support and involvement for affected residents.
- Act as the senior lead for resident engagement with Homes England, supporting funder reviews, compliance audits and evidence requests.
- Oversee resident meetings, outreach activities, newsletters, customer communications and support services across remediation schemes.
- Lead compliance with leasehold legislation, Building Safety Act 2022 protections, tribunal processes and statutory consultation requirements.
- Drive project management, reporting, risk management and performance monitoring across the resident engagement workstream.
- Build strong partnerships with Housing Operations, Legal Services, Communications, Asset Management, local authorities and external stakeholders.
- Provide trusted advice and deputise for the Head of Resident Engagement and Compliance at programme boards, executive meetings and stakeholder forums.
- Ensure programme decisions reflect customer feedback, resident insight and Peabody's commitment to putting residents first.
What You'll Need
- Significant experience leading customer-facing teams within housing, building safety, remediation or major works programmes, including leadership of managers.
- Extensive knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022, Fire Safety Act 2021, remediation legislation and Homes England funding requirements.
- Proven experience managing grant compliance, evidence submissions, performance reporting and regulatory scrutiny.
- Strong expertise in leasehold management, statutory consultation processes, tribunals and leaseholder protections.
- Excellent project management skills, with experience delivering complex programmes involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- A track record of developing high performing teams and creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the credibility to engage confidently with senior leaders, funders, regulators and residents.
- Strong analytical and reporting capability, with experience presenting performance data, risks and recommendations to senior audiences.
- Financial and commercial awareness, including budget management, contract oversight and value-for-money delivery.
- A genuine passion for customer service and resident engagement, with a commitment to ensuring customer voice informs decision-making.

About The Role
From restoring nature and providing homes for wildlife to protecting communities from the devastating impact of flooding, wetlands are a powerful weapon in the fight against the climate crisis. And we’re looking for an experienced Media Manager who can secure impactful media coverage that tells the story of wetlands and inspires the public to take action to protect and restore them.
The Media Manager will have the opportunity to shape strategic media and PR activity across the organisation; engaging in the national conversation on wetlands, particularly in the context of the climate and nature crises. At a regional and local level, this role will support local Marketing teams to tell the stories of our 10 incredible wetland sites to their engaged membership and visitor base. This role is core to strengthening our reputation and building our profile as the UK’s wetland charity and making sure our messages reach diverse audiences.

About You
We are seeking an individual:
- With significant experience of planning and delivering strategic media activity across digital, broadcast and print platforms
- Experienced working in a busy Press Office environment, usually to tight deadlines
- Able to identify communications and reputational risks, with the confidence to put forward considered mitigation plans for both proactive and reactive situations
- Confident writing for multiple channels to engage a range of target audiences
- With a track record of hands-on media expertise; managing reactive enquiries, writing position statements drafting press releases, arranging interviews and spotting opportunities within the news agenda
- Comfortable briefing senior leaders as spokespeople for interviews and responding to tricky issues
- With a solid understanding of current news agenda, environmental issues and knowledge of media structures
- Looking for an opportunity to shape the narrative around wetlands in nature and environment press
We are based at WWT Slimbridge, Gloucestershire, but support hybrid working with an expectation for team members to be in Slimbridge at least once a week. This role will work closely with the media, in a landscape that moves quickly and requires flexibility, so there may also be some occasional travel to our other 10 wetland sites.
