Action Village India (AVI) is a small UK based organisation that since 1989, has been supporting Indian partner organisations who work alongside villagers in some of the most remote parts of rural India so they can improve their lives, livelihoods and resilience. We work towards an India which is just, fair and inclusive, where all people regardless of sex, gender identity, ethnicity, caste, religion can benefit from the country’s economic development and lift themselves out of poverty.

At the heart of our work, are our partnerships; many of which have spanned decades.  Our partner organisations are led by Indians and whether these are large or small organisations, or social movements, all work directly at the grassroots level across rural India – from Bihar and Jharkhand in the North, in Odisha and down to Tamil Nadu in the South. The communities they work with, are some of the poorest in India. They are experts in their fields and work hand in hand with local people to design and inform projects to best serve their local communities and secure rights and social justice for women, men and children.

We accompany our partners for the long term, solidarity with our partners and their communities is at the core of how we work. This means we have developed relationships over the years, based on mutual respect, reciprocity and transparency. We are not governed by donor funding cycles and agendas but are led by our partners and the needs they identify and are committed to shared learning and collaboration. We keep our UK costs to a minimum with core staff and rely on an active and engaged set of Trustees, volunteers and supporters.  Both staff and Trustees of Action Village India have relationships with staff from our partner organisations, created through ongoing dialogue, partner and community visits and participation in learning forums.

Key details

• Salary: £30,000 pro rata
• Hours: 14 hours per week (2 days), ideally Wednesday and Thursday

Key responsibilities

Fundraising and donor management

• Research, develop and submit fundraising proposals to trusts, foundations and major donors
• Maintain accurate fundraising trackers for applications and reporting deadlines
• Coordinate partner inputs for monitoring and donor reports
• Support the Executive Director with fundraising and reporting to trusts and individuals

Events

• Plan and manage Action Village India events across the year
• Attend fundraising events (including evenings and weekends, as agreed)
• Attend WOMAD festival and support delivery of Action Village India’s stall and presence

Individual giving

• Plan and deliver regular appeals and supporter communications
• Develop new ways to engage supporters and grow individual giving income
• Build strong supporter journeys to retain and deepen engagement

Communications and development

• Create compelling fundraising and supporter communications
• Contribute to newsletters, annual reports and appeals
• Coordinate content for events and exhibitions, including WOMAD
• Work with partners to generate stories, updates and visual content
• Manage organisational content such as leaflets, webpages and reports
• Work closely with the Communications and Administrative Officer on social media and CRM content

Person specification

Essential experience

• Minimum three years’ experience in fundraising (trusts and foundations, events and individual giving)
• Proven success securing funding from UK trusts and foundations
• Strong proposal and report writing skills
• Experience co-organising fundraising events

Knowledge and skills

• Knowledge of UK trusts, foundations and institutional funders
• Understanding of the international development and solidarity sector
• Knowledge of Charity Law, Data Protection and the Fundraising Code of Practice
• Excellent written communication skills for diverse audiences
• Proficiency in Excel

Personal qualities

• Passion for social justice and supporting marginalised communities in India

General Overview

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and supporting all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders, and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

As the Devon Service Manager, you will oversee all the adult ITRS team and be instrumental in developing and sustaining networks, partnerships and new networks across Devon.  You will be responsible to the Head of Service and be part of the service manager team working closely alongside the other service managers.

Alongside your service manager colleagues, you will play a key leadership role in the delivery, development, and oversight of high-quality services for individuals impacted by domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking, as well as for those who use harmful behaviours. You will be part of a team managing a diverse portfolio of services spanning prevention, crisis intervention, behaviour change, survivor recovery, and professional training. These include in-person interventions and digital platforms, therapeutic services and outreach across all age groups and communities.

You will be responsible for ensuring that our services are trauma-responsive, culturally competent and inclusive, with a strong focus on safeguarding, survivor voice and best practice. You will support teams to deliver consistently excellent support, ensure contract compliance and drive continuous improvement and innovation in a changing landscape.

As part of the Service Manager team, you will also hold strategic responsibility in scoping new projects, supporting research and business development opportunities. You will also ensure that the wellbeing and development of our people is at the front of our management and leadership priorities.

As the Devon Service Manager, you will have experience working with health professionals in a management or training capacity, and a comprehensive understanding of trauma-informed practice and managing risk. This service takes an innovative approach to both delivering training to GP surgeries and providing therapeutic support to patients referred to us via surgeries who have received our training.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and office based, alongside requiring travel for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables.

This role may include evening and weekend work when required.

Operational Responsibilities

• Service Delivery Oversight: Ensure the smooth and effective daily running of services across all areas—domestic abuse, sexual violence, stalking, behaviour change, survivor recovery, and training—delivered both in-person and digitally.
• Leadership and Management: Role model trauma responsive and inclusive leadership. Ensuring all staff and volunteers are effectively performance managed and live the charity’s values and have all appropriate resources to achieve excellence in their field. Work alongside colleagues from across FearFree to provide support, assistance and management to over teams where required.
• Safeguarding and Risk Management: Lead on child safeguarding and act as Deputy Safeguarding Lead when required. Oversee safeguarding practices across services, ensuring timely risk assessments, safety planning, and escalation of concerns.
• Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement: Monitor service quality through audits, case file reviews, feedback, and outcome data. Lead service improvements in response to learning, client feedback, and evolving best practice.
• Policy and Compliance: Ensure all services operate within legal, regulatory, contractual, and policy frameworks. Maintain accurate and confidential records in accordance with data protection and safeguarding legislation.
• Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Track and analyse performance data to assess impact, identify trends, and inform service planning. Produce high-quality reports for internal leadership, commissioners, and funders.
• Partnerships and Representation: Maintain strong local and strategic partnerships with statutory and voluntary agencies. Represent the charity in multi-agency forums, commissioning meetings, and stakeholder events.
• Crisis and Incident Management: Support staff with complex or high-risk cases. Lead operational responses to critical incidents or safeguarding escalations in collaboration with senior leaders. Provide Duty Out of Hours cover as part of a Senior Management Rota for safeguarding and incident management.
• Volunteer and Student Engagement: Oversee the safe and meaningful integration of volunteers and student placements into service delivery, ensuring appropriate supervision and development opportunities.
• System and Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in operational systems and work with others to develop streamlined, integrated processes across services and reporting tools.
• Strategic Oversight: To take part in, and contribute to Executive Leadership meetings as required, providing operational guidance.
• Budgets and Financial performance: Carefully monitor and evaluate both financial and non-financial performance and create contingency plans to predict and rectify any variables. Contribute to the creation of annual and budgets and financial targets.
• Advising on new development opportunities: Utilising data, local and national knowledge, identification of unmet needs, professional relationships and best practice to contribute to new opportunities.

Job summary

Reporting to the head of growth and sitting within the engagement team you will:

• recruit volunteers by promoting Re-engage’s services, 
• develop effective relationships with new and existing referrers such as social prescribers and community link workers

• Utilise Re-engage's CRM (OPUS) to inform evidence-based, data-driven decision-making to develop effective engagement plans.
• Working closely with the service delivery team ensuring that the right people are recruited and engaged into the right roles, in the right place, and at the right times. 
• Collaborating with the communications team ensuring the widest possible publicity for the region’s needs through media and social media opportunities, local press, radio, TV, and online forums.
• Liaising closely with the fundraising team delivering against recruitment targets linked to grants.
• Working with the fundraising team on proposals and grant applications using regional knowledge, identifying local need, and collecting case studies.
• Identifying speaking and presenting opportunities ensuring that Re-engage's work is promoted to referrers.

This role is home-based with mobile working. Your home base needs to be in Wales (or close to the border - e.g. in Chester) as on a weekly basis you can expect to work across Wales to meet with supporters face to face approximately 2 to 3 days a week. As such, you must have a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle or the ability to travel frequently across the region. 

There will be a requirement to attend in-person team meetings based in the area on a quarterly basis and other parts of the UK when our wider fundraising territory and department get together. 

There will also be a requirement for flexible and out of hours working to support occasional evening and weekend activity and you will be compensated for this with time off in lieu.

The Head of HR at the Donmar Warehouse will partner with stakeholders across the organisation to support an excellent standard of staff management, welfare and engagement. Using proven skills and experience in HR generalism, recruitment and organisation design, the role will support the overarching strategy of the Donmar with a fit for purpose HR business plan and manage the full employee lifecycle.

The role will deliver on all aspects of HR operations, using a blended approach of staff welfare and culture with compliance and due diligence to keep our people and our organisation safe and thriving. Role Summary:

The Smile Trian UK Senior Manager, Individual Giving leads on the development and delivery of the individual donor offline fundraising program, responsible for the acquisition, retention, upgrade and reactivation of individual donors through various channels including Direct Mail, DRTV, Telemarketing and SMS and Print. General Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the UK Director of Fundraising in the development of the offline Individual Giving Strategy and other key initiatives and keep them updated and fully briefed regarding their implementation

• Conduct testing to optimise creative and evaluate results to make data-driven decisions for future mail concepts 
• Manage direct mail creative development, ensure brand compliance and provide directive on content/messaging
• Participate in weekly production call with creative and production agencies to review status of deliverables for all campaigns

DRTV 

• Execute all aspects of Direct Response Television (DRTV) donor acquisition program, including:

• • Set-up of inbound telemarketing and SMS with telemarketing agency
  • Manage creative review and development
  • Manage weekly performance review and provide updates and recommendations to vendor
  • Review and approve media buying plans
  • Manage source code assignment and upload to database

• Management of external creative, media and contact centre agencies 
• Strategic planning, performance monitoring and reporting 

Sustainer Program

• Manage all monthly Direct Debit and other regular individual donations 
• Manage the execution of the donor journey for all regular donors and the conversion, upgrade and reactivation efforts

Other Duties

• Working with external agencies, develop effective testing methodology to inform long-term investment decisions
• Execute all offline acquisition campaigns in diversification of new donor sources (e.g. Package Inserts)
• Approve cost estimates and media plans ensuring spend to budget across all campaigns

BACKGROUND

Church of England Birmingham (CofEB) is on a journey of growing churches at the heart of every community. Through this we are seeing growth in many exciting ways. Financially we are at a challenging point. We have had an operational deficit for a number of years and this cannot continue. The National Church has agreed to partner with us around this through their Diocesan Investment Programme enabling us to have the time, and resource, to tackle this head on. One key aspect of this is for us to increase our Common Fund returns (the giving from our parishes that supports the costs of our life together). We are taking a radical new approach to our finances which includes intentional reallocation of income to support the costs in our most economically deprived parishes and deeper relationships with each parish around finance through conversation rather than correspondence. Over the next five years we are hoping to be able to move to a financially sustainable platform which will enable us to better serve our communities in the future.

We have recently recruited a new Head of Generosity (who is also Bishops Advisor for Common Fund) to lead on this work and we are now looking to recruit the team to work with them. The focus of the team is to develop long term relationships with all of our parishes leading to:

• Greater support for our parishes.
• Increased generosity by, and within, our parishes.
• Increased Common Fund.

The current plan is to recruit two Giving & Generosity Advisor roles and one Giving & Generosity Support Officer role. Together this team will work with all of our parishes to roll out our financial approach, through in person meetings, and the support that is on offer as part of this. 

JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary focus of this role is to support the wider team in delivering this project. We have 146 parishes and the Head of Generosity will manage the team so that all parishes can be engaged as quickly as possible. It is the Head of Generosity and two Giving & Generosity Advisors who will be carrying out the in-person meetings with each parish. Those roles will work closely with a range of people, and teams, across Church of England Birmingham so that this work is integrated within our wider strategy and parishes are not confused by multiple disjointed initiatives. This will mean working with Archdeacons and Area Deans, Mission Support Team, Ministry Team, Property Team, Finance Team, Community Regeneration Team and Communications Team as well as others.

This role will manage the processes that enable the team to deliver and flourish.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Being the point of contact for parishes and other DBF teams as they will be the member of the team who are predominantly office based. 

• Develop strong relationships with parishes, and other key stakeholders, to enable the establishment of meetings, support around Generosity etc.
• Be the first point of contact for parishes when they have questions around Giving and Generosity.
• Manage activities and processes that enable the project to function e.g. a scheme to loan out contact giving devices.
• Support in the creation of resources and communication pieces.
• Keep the teams external, and internal, communication streams up to date (including website, and praying together). Ensuring that the team has a presence in all key CofEB channels.
• Encourage and assist parishes in the implementation of the Parish Giving Scheme, introduction of contactless giving mechanisms and related diocesan resources.
• Support the scheduling and support for training. This will be for clergy, treasurers and others.

• Manage the collation of data and information so progress of the team is clear and evidenced.
• Undertake resource projects.
• Support the Head of Generosity to respond to new and emerging needs and opportunities.
• Ensure a regular flow of team meetings and communication between the team.

• Coordinate team wellbeing activities in line with agreed pattern and linked to the wider CofEB rhythms.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Some understanding of church governance structures and financial operations and requirements.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

National Ugly Mugs (NUM) is an award-winning charity with a mission to ‘end all forms of violence against sex workers.’ NUM provides a mechanism for sex industry workers to report crimes and harm they experience and share this information within their communities to warn others of potentially dangerous individuals and situations. We have a dedicated casework team of industry experts who support sex workers to further access criminal justice remedies and other services as determined by these victims/survivors to cope and recover from crimes they experience. We also host a range of other projects in racial justice, mental health, drop-in support (Scotland), and vocational exploration.

Role Summary:

National Ugly Mugs is looking to recruit a Victim Support Case Worker to provide greater access to justice and protections for sex workers based in or touring in London. The role will also involve contributing to the writing and quality assurance of harm reduction tools and resources, ensuring they are accurate, accessible, and responsive to the needs of sex workers. The post holder will work across multiple agencies, from victim support services, Citizens Advice, SARCS, specialist sex worker support organisations to those providing services to sex workers, and sex worker-led groups. They will work with police and Met officials via working groups or direct engagement with BCU SPOCs to support reporting to police.

The Victim Support Case Work plays a part in maintaining a wide network of practitioners and officials, both local and national, to ensure that we are victim-centred and provide resources in ways that are individualised and safest for sex worker survivors as part of prevention, victim support and recovery. As such, the postholder will engage with other sex worker-led groups and rights activists, and will be provided with relevant training and clinical supervision to support them in this role.

• Act as a strong customer advocate for digital, data and technology, ensuring a consistently high-quality service experience across the organisation.
• Develop and grow the Service Desk and Customer Support functions, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, user experience and engagement.
• Take ownership of major incidents, coordinating teams and stakeholders to minimise impact and ensure clear, timely communication.
• Oversee supplier management, contracts, asset and licence management, procurement processes and budget control.
• Drive continual service improvement through customer insight, service reporting and the delivery of service improvement plans and operational projects.

About you

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Proven experience in IT service management methodologies such as ITIL and COBIT with experience operating in complex environments.
• A track record of leading customer-focused IT services, service desks or support functions, with a strong emphasis on service quality and user experience and service performance monitoring.
• Experience managing budgets, procurement, suppliers and contracts, ensuring best value, compliance and effective risk management.
• Strong leadership and people management capability, with experience building, developing and empowering high-performing teams.
• Proven project management skills with a track record of identifying, scoping and delivering small to mid-size initiatives that improve service quality, customer experience or adoption of technology.
• Broad knowledge of software, operating systems, and cloud services with demonstrable experience in software licensing and asset management.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences and act as a trusted business partner.
• A strategic, improvement-focused mindset, balancing day-to-day operational delivery with longer-term customer enablement and service transformation goals.

Ways of Working: 

The majority of our roles can be performed remotely in the UK, but at times you will be required to come to your contracted office (usually between 2–4 days per month, depending on the needs of your role, team, or service). For many roles, this is likely to be the minimum required to deliver impact. This will be discussed and agreed with your manager / team and we encourage candidates to discuss our ways of working in more detail at interview stage. 

Please note: travel costs to your contracted office will be at your own expense. 

Out of hours working  
From time to time, you may be asked to work outside normal business hours, such as in the evening or at the weekend, to support activities like system upgrades or maintenance. This is expected to be infrequent (usually no more than four times a year) and we'll always give you as much notice as possible.

In exceptional situations, such as a major emergency, humanitarian response, cyber attack, or total system failure, you may be asked to temporarily adjust your working hours to help manage the situation.
