Gift Operations and Fundraising Data Analyst

Salary: £34,500

Contract type: Full-time, 35 hours per week, although 28 hours / flexible hours may be considered

Contract length: Permanent

Working location: Remote. The postholder must attend the office at least once a month.  This role may involve some irregular travel throughout England and Scotland.

Reporting to: Head of Individual Giving and Engagement

BACKGROUND

For more than 20 years, we’ve worked alongside schools and communities across Englandand Scotland, listening to children and young people and campaigning with decision makers to ensure their voices are heard. We’re working to create the conditions every pupilneeds to start the day feeling nourished, valued, and empowered to reach for their dreams.

Every child and young person should arrive at school hungry to learn, not distracted by arumbling tummy. Yet 2.2 million children across the UK are at risk of going hungry in themorning. That’s five pupils in every class of 30. Breakfast is about so much more than food;it’s about giving children and young people the energy, focus, and confidence to learn, thrive, and dream big. Working with schools in disadvantaged communities across Englandand Scotland, Magic Breakfast is a charity that helps every child and young person reachfor the dreams, one breakfast at a time.

Our mission is simple: to champion and provide nourishing breakfasts, ensuring every childand young person has the best possible start to their day. But we know we cannot do this alone. Ending hunger takes all of us; schools, communities, families, policymakers, supporters, and partners, coming together to make sure every pupil has what they need to thrive.

By joining Magic Breakfast, you will become part of a passionate, ambitious organisation driving lasting change for children and young people across the UK.

The Gift Operations and Fundraising Data Analyst will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, efficiency, and insightfulness of our fundraising operations. By managing the flow of gift data, maintaining and improving the quality of our Individual Giving CRM records, and delivering data-driven analysis, this role supports Individual Giving and Engagement and the wider Fundraising team in achieving income targets and enhancing supporter engagement. The postholder will act as the bridge between data and strategy – ensuring that every gift is accurately recorded, every donor is thanked, and every decision is backed by meaningful insight. The postholder will make sure donor records are accurate, gifts are processed quickly and ensure we maximise income through Gift Aid. Through strong collaboration with teams across Fundraising, Finance, and Individual Giving and Engagement, this role will help drive both operational excellence and innovation in how we use data to grow our impact.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Coordinate monthly fundraising KPI reporting and reconciliation across Fundraising & Development, holding team members accountable to deadlines.
  • Identify opportunities to improve fundraising insight, efficiency, opportunities and decision-making through automation, AI-enabled tools and more effective use of data.
  • Support the team and wider department in KPI analysis, including working with colleagues across Magic Breakfast, such as Brand and Marketing, to assess how insights from their work impact fundraising.
  • Support the department with monitoring and evaluation projects for reporting to funders or to enable strategic work, where appropriate.
  • Perform A/B testing analysis and share insights to improve email and campaign effectiveness.
  • Process reporting for all income, including text, website, postal, standing orders, direct debits, payroll giving, JustGiving, and more.
  • Ensure all gifts are accurately logged in Salesforce to maintain up-to-date dashboards and supporter records.
  • Support the Head of Individual Giving and Engagement with data selection and segmentation for supporter communications and appeals.
  • Work on data requirements for strategic initiatives such as Sustainability X.
