Operations Manager

Letchworth Foodbank is looking for an organised, proactive Operations Manager to keep our daily services running smoothly and help get things done. You will set up easy-to-use systems for managing donors, communications, volunteers, and referral partners. 

By building strong foundations, you will help us deliver dignified emergency food support, across Letchworth, Hitchin, Baldock and potentially other local areas, to people facing hardship. Your role will ensure we are set up to respond effectively to the growing and changing needs of those facing hunger and hardship in our community. 

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

• Is organised and hands-on: Has a track record in operations or admin and enjoys keeping daily services running smoothly.

• Is confident with IT and software: Enjoys setting up and managing databases, CRMs, and everyday tech tools to bring structure.

• Can lead and support volunteers: Knows how to recruit, train, and look after a dedicated volunteer team.

• Is a warm, empathetic communicator: Builds strong, dignified relationships with clients, volunteers, and local partners.

• Understands compliance and safety: Has a good grasp of GDPR, Safeguarding, and Health & Safety guidelines.

• Is a proactive problem-solver: Holds a full UK driving licence and takes the initiative to tackle day-to-day challenges.

Working pattern

This role is part - time, 21 hours per week. Working Tuesday and Friday mornings (9am - 1pm) with the working pattern for the remaining hours to be agreed.
