Office & Property Compliance Administrator
Part-time permanent – Initially 3 days (21 hours) pw/ (0.6 FTE) subject to review after 6 months
£30,000 FTE (£18,000 for 0.6 FTE)
Office base Liverpool Street/Moorgate – Commonweal operates a flexible hybrid working policy requiring staff to attend the office base at least 2 days per week, one of which is our Tuesday anchor day when all staff are in the office.
Commonweal is an independent charity, with a small core staff team of 9, overseen by a voluntary Board of Trustees, working to investigate, pilot and champion housing based solutions to social injustice. Using our charitable resources, we provide experts and partner organisations with the opportunity to trial and test new approaches designed to enhance housing equality and justice. Independently evaluating each of our projects we share our experiences, using this learning to inspire new thinking. Through the replication of what works and the lessons from what doesn’t, we influence changes in policy and practice. In addition, we commission other research identifying and spotlighting new areas of housing injustice.
Commonweal owns a small portfolio of properties that are leased to our project partners – charities, housing and support organisations delivering services to people experiencing housing injustice. This role will be central to ensuring that we fulfil our responsibilities as a property owner and that our partners and managing agents meet their property and compliance obligations.
You will maintain oversight of key property compliance requirements, ensuring certificates, inspections and other documentation are in place and up to date, proactively following up outstanding actions and escalating issues where necessary. Working closely with our managing agents, retained surveyor, contractors and project partners, you will help ensure we have an accurate and up-to-date picture of our properties, including repairs and planned works, void properties and those being prepared for occupation.
Commonweal also periodically buys and sells properties as new projects begin and others come to an end. You will provide administrative coordination for these processes, liaising with estate agents, solicitors and other professional advisers and helping to keep actions and deadlines on track.
Alongside our property portfolio, the Office & Property Compliance Administrator will coordinate and deliver the core administration that underpins Commonweal's work. This varied role brings together governance and Board administration, property and compliance coordination, and oversight of our office systems and environment.
You will:
- Manage the compliance administration of our property portfolio, maintaining accurate records of compliance requirements, certificates, inspections, key dates and associated documentation.
- Proactively monitor outstanding property actions, repairs and works, liaising with managing agents, our surveyor, contractors and project partners to obtain updates, follow up overdue actions and escalate concerns where necessary.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date information on the status of our properties, including voids, outstanding works and readiness for occupation, providing reliable information for operational and Board reporting.
- Provide administrative coordination for property acquisitions and disposals, liaising with estate agents, solicitors and other professional advisers and tracking actions through to completion.
- Provide high-quality governance support to our Board of Trustees, including scheduling meetings, collating agendas and papers, circulating Board packs and taking accurate minutes.
- Oversee the smooth running of our office, including IT and supplier contracts and health & safety administration.
- Act as a first point of contact for general enquiries and provide reliable administrative support to the CEO, DCEO and wider team.
We are looking for someone with:
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience of supporting Boards or committees, including minute-taking.
- Experience of property, housing, lettings or compliance administration, or demonstrable experience of managing detailed records, actions and deadlines within another regulated environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate and reliable information.
- A proactive approach – someone who is comfortable following up outstanding actions, chasing information and identifying when something needs attention or escalation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence working with suppliers, contractors and other external organisations.
- A collaborative and professional style and the ability to work effectively as part of a small team.
Previous knowledge of property compliance requirements would be an advantage, but we are equally interested in candidates with strong transferable administrative and coordination skills and the ability to develop their property knowledge.
This is a varied and important role at the heart of Commonweal, helping to ensure that our properties, governance and organisational systems are well managed, accurate and compliant, and that colleagues and Trustees have the reliable information they need.
Closing date 22nd September 2026
Interviews will be held w/c 28th September in person at our London office.

Are you a recent graduate looking for a role where you'll learn how a charity runs day-to-day? The Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) is looking for a friendly, organised Administration Assistant to join our team in London.
This is a great opportunity to start building your career in charity, social enterprise or office administration. You'll be at the heart of everything we do — supporting our Senior Management Team and Trustees, helping run meetings and events, and keeping our office running smoothly — while developing skills in governance, minute-taking, and project coordination. Whether you're just starting out or already have a year or two of administrative experience, what matters most is your organisation, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for learning.
You'll help manage diaries and meeting logistics for our senior team and Trustees, format and circulate papers for Board and staff meetings, book travel and accommodation, keep our records and filing in good order, and be a welcoming first point of contact for anyone who calls or emails AHF. You'll also get involved in organising our Annual Away Day and other AHF-wide events — and, with support, take minutes at decision-making meetings such as the Audit and Risk Committee and HR committee.
We'd love to hear from you if you enjoy staying organised, communicate clearly and confidently, and like the idea of learning new systems and ways of working. Any experience you've picked up through university, part-time work, volunteering, placements, student societies, committee roles, or paid administrative work all counts.
You'll ideally have an interest in the AHF's mission — helping to deliver a sustainable future for historic buildings throughout the UK — but a passion for heritage is a bonus, not a requirement.
We are a charity committed to being inclusive and giving everyone an equal chance to succeed – you can read more about our EDI commitments from our website. Applications are welcome from all regardless of age, sex, gender identity, disability, marriage or civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, religion or belief, race, sexual orientation, transgender status or socio-economic background.

We Are Survivors is a survivor-focused voluntary sector organisation that aims to create and facilitate safe spaces for male (including trans and non-binary individuals) survivors of sexual harms across Greater Manchester, providing access to quality-assured support. Our work is focused on developing ways for individuals to empower themselves to work through personal and sometimes painful issues, guided and supported by our trauma-informed team, following the trauma and recovery model.
Our vision is to have “A society where NO male survivor is left behind”
We are looking for an Executive Assistant who can work closely with our CEO and help them make the best use of their time, relationships and influence.
At the heart of this role is our ambition that no male survivor is left behind. You will support the CEO to keep that ambition visible in their day-to-day work, helping them stay focused on the conversations and opportunities that can create meaningful change for male survivors.
This is more than an administrative role. You will help the CEO manage their priorities and prepare for important meetings. You will keep track of commitments, follow up on agreed actions, and ensure the right information is available when needed. There will be times when plans change quickly, so you will need to be comfortable using your judgement and adapting your approach.
You will also help We Are Survivors engage and influence at the local, regional, and national levels. This could involve supporting contact with commissioners or government departments, preparing briefings for meetings, coordinating events and helping the CEO maintain strong relationships across the sector. Your work will help ensure that the experiences of male survivors are heard in the places where decisions are made.
As someone working closely with the CEO, you will often be a first point of contact for people inside and outside the organisation. You will need to be approachable while understanding the importance of confidentiality. You should feel confident managing sensitive information and recognising when something needs the CEO’s immediate attention.
We are looking for someone who is organised and able to take initiative. You will share our commitment to male survivors and understand the difference that thoughtful executive support can make. You do not need to know everything from day one, but you should be curious about our work and motivated by the opportunity to help We Are Survivors extend its reach and impact.
