The General Assembly of Unitarian and Free Christian Churches (GA) is the central charity that supports its member congregations, ministers and societies in England, Scotland and Wales. The purpose of this role 

This is a new role, being the operational engine to strengthen the organisation at a time of change. Shifts in the wider Unitarian movement with patterns of innovation, rebuilding, and growth alongside congregational vulnerabilities and closures mean that the GA’s operational function must adapt. 

This role would suit someone who is excited to manage governance, systems, and data as strategic enablers in a values-driven organisation, who can drive change while delivering operational excellence. 

This is a role with real scope to shape how an organisation that is approaching its centenary works in the years ahead - including how good data, digital systems, and emerging tools can support a small team to make best use of its resources and build capacity for relational work. 

The Operations Director will work closely with the Chief Officer, and will be a collaborative and proactive enabler to lead a transition to a future-fit organisation that can better serve its members and have a greater impact.

What you’ll be doing 

• Strategy & organisational development — Partner closely with the Chief Officer to shape strategy, translate priorities into action, and build the systems that make us resilient.

• Governance, legal & compliance — Serve as Company Secretary, stewarding our transition to CIO and ensuring we meet our legal and regulatory obligations with confidence.

• Financial oversight — Ensure financial management arrangements (including outsourced providers) deliver accurate, timely information and sound controls; work with the Honorary Treasurer and external accountants on budgeting, fund oversight and audit support, escalating risks and holding providers to account. 

• Systems, data & digital — Lead our information infrastructure, oversee our CRM migration, and champion a culture of good data practice — including thoughtful use of AI where beneficial.

• People & HR — Line manage two team members and keep our HR and supplier relationships running smoothly, with care and clarity.

• Unitarian relationships — Nurture collaborative relationships with key Unitarian bodies from an operational perspective, including governance support for affiliated organisations.

• Events & communications — Take operational ownership of the Annual Meeting and ensure the infrastructure behind our communications is solid and reliable.

What core skills and experience you’ll have 

Essential: 

• Senior operations leadership experience in a purpose-led or membership organisation, with a track record of building capacity through periods of organisational change. 

• Experience leading complex organisational change and systems transformation, including the people dimensions of change. 

• Experience managing contracted delivery of services by third parties 

• Financial literacy sufficient to own management accounts, lead a budgeting process, and act as a critical friend to trustees on financial governance.

• Must be comfortable interrogating financial information and holding external providers to account; accountancy qualification not required 

• Experience of leading the implementation or significant improvement of CRM, financial management, or other organisational systems — including managing migration risk 

• Experience of people management, and good HR / employment practice 

• Substantial experience of charity governance and compliance 

• Solid working knowledge of UK charity law and Charity Commission requirements, including the ability to advise senior colleagues and trustees with confidence 

Desirable: 

• Experience of property or building management, including leases, tenancy relationships, and facilities oversight 

• Experience of a CIO conversion or similar legal restructuring of a charity 

• Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms 

• Experience of working in a faith, membership, or congregational context 

• Company secretarial experience

This is an opportunity to join our Individual Giving team as a Welcome Officer, supporting the first 12 months of a supporter’s journey with us. This is a single role within the Welcome function, which plays a critical part in how we shape early engagement and set the tone for long term relationships. Community & Corporate Fundraiser – Wales (Dolfor)

This role will lead fundraising across Wales and into the Midlands, building relationships with communities, businesses and supporters to grow income and raise awareness of our work.

About the role

We are looking for an exceptional individual fundraiser to join the Philanthropy team at King’s College London, leading on fundraising for The Dickson Poon School of Law.

This role will be responsible for managing a portfolio of major gift prospects, securing and stewarding significant philanthropic gifts at the £50k to £5 million gift level, supporting senior stakeholders with their fundraising efforts, and championing the work and priorities of King’s and the Dickson Poon School of Law.

The team will play a crucial role in the delivery of the University’s ambition to significantly scale philanthropic income for faculties, as we prepare to launch our next major fundraising campaign in 2027 and mark the university’s bicentenary in 2029.

We will build on our already successful fundraising to achieve ambitious new goals for philanthropy – creating strong partnerships across campus and with donors, to realise shared priorities and deliver strategic impact.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with academic and professional service colleagues across King’s to secure significant philanthropic income to support student outcomes and drive world-leading teaching and research.

The successful candidate will be a key part of our Senior Management Team and providing maternity cover for our work driving improvements to accessibility and inclusion across the music and live events industry.

You will be experienced in using Dynamics 365 Business Central as an accounting system.

This is a part-time role for two days a week (0.4FTE), with flexibility about when the hours are worked. It's a hybrid role, working from home and from our office. You will report to our Head of finance. Key responsibilities

• As part of Saferworld’s senior leadership, you will support organisation-wide initiatives and contribute to strategic decision-making. You will monitor funding trends, identify emerging issues relevant to Saferworld’s work and partnership approaches, and develop appropriate strategies to respond.
• Working closely with the Senior Operations Team, you will ensure funding plans are developed across business units and thematic/regional areas, and that income pipelines are maintained while quality assurance and active cost recovery are proactively pursued. You will oversee the funding and prospects pipeline, produce data and analysis to support decision-making, and provide regular reporting to senior leaders and the Board.
• Externally, you will represent Saferworld with key donors, partners and networks, building strategic relationships and identifying funding opportunities.
• You will lead the development, implementation and monitoring of Saferworld’s funding strategy, ensuring a balanced, ethical and diverse portfolio of restricted and unrestricted income streams. This will include securing quality funding against agreed targets and supporting income diversification through trusts and foundations, commercial funding, and other sources.
• You will work closely with Saferworld’s Grant Management Team to ensure a coordinated and strategic approach to donor relationship management and cultivation. You will also lead the design of multi-country and thematic proposals, as well as consortia bid development, to strengthen partnerships and support new ways of resourcing Saferworld’s strategy.

• You will lead the Funding Leadership Team to ensure cross-organisational ownership of fundraising efforts, and work closely with regional, thematic, policy and grant management colleagues throughout the funding cycle.

People and leadership

• You will line-manage the Funding and Programme Development Team and foster an environment where staff feel empowered, take responsibility and are accountable for achieving organisational objectives.
• You will ensure the team facilitates strong participatory programme design and proposal development with partners and staff, embedding Saferworld’s organisational values and principles. You will also support the team to work closely with colleagues across the organisation, grounding proposals in learning, evidence and evaluation findings.

About you

• You will bring proven senior leadership experience in funding, with a track record of developing and implementing funding strategies and raising income through a range of donors, including individuals, institutions, trusts and foundations. You will also have experience securing high-value contracts and grants of seven figures.
• You will have strong experience of leading complex participatory programme design, including developing budgets, monitoring frameworks and proposals. You will be confident coordinating programme development processes with multiple teams and partners to ensure a collaborative and inclusive approach.
• You will have a proven track record of motivating, mentoring and managing a team, and supporting that team to think creatively about fundraising. You will also be confident developing networks, building alliances, and nurturing relationships with individuals, collaborators and funders.
• You will bring a strong understanding of key political, development and humanitarian trends and debates, particularly linked to peacebuilding, development, human rights, governance, and security and justice. You will also have sound knowledge of UK civil society and charity regulatory requirements, and an understanding of the current international aid, peacebuilding and human rights funding environment.
• Experience of working and/or living in conflict-affected contexts, and understanding of peacebuilding and conflict prevention, are desirable.

• You will have excellent leadership and management skills, including strategic planning and business development. You will be able to provide sound financial and compliance advice, demonstrate good financial stewardship, and bring a creative, proactive approach to your work.

The Role

Your time will be split across three core focus areas:

• Digital Marketing & Communications: Execute our marketing strategy and audience growth priorities across all digital channels. Craft engaging monthly newsletters and use digital communications to build strong relationships with our supporters .  Support the structured growth and marketing of HFTF’s consultancy and paid services to attract, secure and nurture relationships with our partners. Update and manage our WordPress website and core digital channels. Develop, optimise, and  design compelling email journeys for our key services using our digital toolkit, including Ticket Tailor and EcoSend. Supervise our  Communications freelancer (1 day per week) providing supportive oversight for social media content. 

• Individual Giving & Campaigns: Develop communications showcasing our real-world impact through collaborative storytelling to increase our visibility and strengthen audience engagement. Help grow our base of regular individual supporters to increase our unrestricted income. With the Fundraising Manager's support, you will lead digital individual giving campaigns, including the Big Give, to grow our regular supporter base and boost unrestricted income.

• Climate Connect Platform Growth: Expand our digital organising platform into a sustainable paid service for partners, creating a long-term income stream. Design campaigns to increase platform uptake, engage with organisations and communities to actively use Climate Connect, ensuring  a smooth user journey.  Help gather impact case studies for future grant funding, and liaise with external developers to coordinate platform updates and improvements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate annual calendar of volunteer training events

 

· Work in partnership with the Volunteer Development Manager to understand volunteer recruitment needs across services and the wider team.

· Liaise with services teams to plan and develop the calendar of volunteer training events, both in person and virtual.

· Manage relationships with training venues ensuring desired dates are secured early in line with event requirements and budgets.

· Proactively research new training venues which meet accessibility requirements.

· Work with team members taking a lead on volunteer training delivery to ensure all training materials are up to date and relevant training packs/goodie boxes are distributed to trainees.

· Liaise with trainees to ensure confirmation paperwork is completed in a timely manner and needs relevant to training are met.

· Keep accurate records and maintain database records to ensure services teams are kept up to date with trainee information and any changes to event attendance.

· Circulate post-training communications to help ensure new volunteers are onboarded in a timely manner.

· Collect and distribute feedback from trainees to ensure quality of delivery is maintained to a high standard.

· Lead, sustain and develop strong and effective working relationships across the Back Up team.

Manage volunteer applications and requests

· Work with Volunteer Development Manager to ensure application process is kept up to date and is easily accessible to prospective volunteers.

· Liaise with potential volunteers, following up on expressions of interest, providing triage, answering queries and providing information relating to roles which may be relevant and of interest to encourage applications.

· Maintain database records ensuring swift distribution of applications to services team

· Support the Volunteer Development Manager to identify areas of potential efficiency and improvement in working practices in the recruitment, training and onboarding processes.

· Work across the wider team to understand and support volunteer requests, proactively approaching active volunteers with projects and opportunities for them to get involved.

· Coordinate volunteer request opportunities with volunteers and volunteer managers to ensure requests are fulfilled to raise awareness of Back Up’s services.

· Maintaining accurate records on the database, adhering to all relevant policies and procedures.

The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and creative Communications and Brand Manager (Partnerships) to join a small, friendly and ambitious team in a varied role with genuine opportunity for development and impact. The Communications and Brand Manager (Partnerships) is primarily fundraising focused, delivering compelling communications strategies to support individual giving, fundraising events and our growing number of Corporate Partnerships, including Sky, Co-op, National Grid, OVO, Cadent, UKPN, Barratt Redrow and SGN. The role will specialise in maximising brand impact and income-raising potential.

The role sits within the growing Communications Team, which is led by the Director of Communications and includes the Communications Manager and Communications Assistant. 

Reporting to the Director of Communications, the postholder will play a key role in telling the Warm Welcome Story for positive change, raising awareness to grow the brand and creating campaign strategies to support income generation. 

We are looking for someone who is highly organised, agile and collaborative, whilst bringing creativity and initiative to their work. Relationship building will be key, working with a wide variety of high-profile corporate partners, stakeholders and ambassadors. You will be an excellent brand champion with the skills to develop stand out creative ideas for partnership campaigns, awareness campaigns and activations. While the role is primarily fundraising focused, you will support the delivery of the wider Warm Welcome Communications Strategy.

In this role, you will work across all aspects of communications strategy including, PR, events, brand asset development, storytelling, digital marketing, and campaigns.

• Act as the primary communications adviser for the fundraising team, including the Corporate Partnerships Manager and corporate partners, identifying communications opportunities and advising on strategic messaging, content, PR and tactics.

At the Bone Cancer Research Trust, our fundraising success is built on strong relationships with our supporters. In this newly created role, the successful candidate will have an exciting opportunity to drive our approach to Individual Giving, Legacies and Major Donors. This role requires highly collaborative working across teams to bring greater consistency, coordination and progress to this work.

AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown. Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England, Wales and Northern Ireland with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands we are looking for a specialist Advocate for Scotland. Although home based, some travel will be required - frequency will be commensurate to the role. We welcome applications from candidates with experience of domestic abuse. Scotland is expected to introduce Domestic Homicide and Suicide Reviews commencing in April 2026. We are looking for a candidate with a good understanding of the Scottish legislative system and good understanding around domestic abuse to join our growing charity

Our Specialist Advocates support families impacted by fatal domestic abuse through provision of lay advocacy, for and on behalf of, families with a range of statutory service providers (e.g. those conducting reviews and inquiries, social services, police, housing) and work to build good relations between all parties. To ensure that families get the support they need, you will use AAFDA’s Home Office endorsed seven-step approach to working with individuals and families, to ensure that they receive the best possible support and advocacy to restore dignity and relief for families and to help them cope and recover. Through trauma-informed approaches, you will:

· Listen to families and advocate for them in a complex system that too often treats them as passive participants and overlooks the value of their insight.

· Provide information, support, guidance, advice and advocacy on Domestic Homicide & Suicide Reviews (DHSR’s) and other reviews where relevant and appropriate.

· Manage families’ expectations of the legal and procedural processes facing them by supporting families in meetings with agencies such as health, police and local authorities.

· Give families practical help on a wide range of issues - including help with letter writing or advocating with employers and local authorities on the families’ behalf.

· Support AAFDA in our bringing families together in AAFDA’s peer support events, such as the Hear Our Voice weekend and the on-line peer support Zoom sessions, where families can speak with others to share their experiences and stories. This will involve occasional evening work.

The Pepper Foundation is a local charity funding children’s hospice care at home, specialised play and family days for children living with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions in Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire. The Community Fundraiser will be joining Pepper at an exciting time as we launch our new three-year fundraising strategy. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced relationship-builder to lead and grow community fundraising and challenge events activity, helping to raise vital income for The Pepper Foundation.

You will take ownership of a varied portfolio of community fundraising activity, building and developing relationships with volunteers, schools, clubs, local businesses and community groups, while also nurturing existing supporters and creating an excellent experience for everyone who engages with us. Financial
