You will have a minimum of two years' experience delivering money and debt advice, with the ability to support, motivate and develop others. This role forms part of the Exeter Crisis & Resilience Fund partnership, delivered by Navigate, Churches Housing Action Team (CHAT) and Encompass Southwest – the collaboration is known as Wis£rmoney. Together, we provide a seamless service that supports residents from immediate financial crisis through to long-term resilience. Our partnership combines specialist money and debt advice, welfare benefits advice, housing support, homelessness prevention, trauma-informed practice and financial education to provide holistic support for people experiencing financial hardship. Rather than asking people to navigate multiple services, we work together to ensure they receive the right support at the right time, through a coordinated 'No Wrong Door' approach. 

The Crisis & Resilience Fund Team Leader will lead the delivery of the Exeter Crisis & Resilience Service, providing operational leadership to a multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality, person-centred support to residents experiencing financial hardship, crisis and multiple disadvantage. The postholder will line manage Navigate's Client Liaison Officers and the Money Advice Caseworkers employed by partners Churches Housing Action Team (CHAT) and Encompass Southwest to ensure a seamless, coordinated service that supports individuals from immediate financial crisis through to long term resilience. As Navigate's operational lead for the contract, the Team Leader will foster strong partnership working, maintain effective communication across organisations and ensure clients experience a consistent 'No Wrong Door' approach. Alongside leadership responsibilities, the postholder will manage a small caseload of complex clients, delivering FCA-regulated debt advice, welfare benefits advice, advocacy and holistic financial resilience support. They will provide guidance and oversight for complex casework, ensuring clients receive timely, flexible interventions tailored to their individual circumstances.

The Team Leader will champion Wis£rmoney’s relationship-based, trauma-informed approach, recognising that financial hardship rarely exists in isolation. By supporting staff to build trusted relationships with clients, remove barriers to engagement and address the wider issues affecting financial wellbeing, the role will help residents achieve sustainable financial stability, independence and resilience. The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring the service meets all contractual, regulatory and quality requirements, monitoring performance, driving continuous improvement and embedding innovative ways of working that enhance client outcomes while maintaining the personalised support that is central to the service model.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership and Service Management

• Lead Wis£rmoney's delivery of the Exeter Crisis & Resilience Fund service, ensuring a high-quality, person-centred service that reflects the partnership's shared values and objectives.
• Line manage and support Client Liaison Officers (2) and Money Advice Caseworkers (2), providing regular supervision, reflective practice, coaching and annual appraisals.
• Promote a positive, supportive team culture that prioritises staff wellbeing, continuous learning and high-quality client outcomes.
• Provide guidance and support on complex casework, safeguarding concerns and risk management.
• Lead by example, demonstrating relationship-based, trauma-informed approach to supporting people experiencing financial hardship.

Specialist Casework

• Manage a small caseload of clients with complex financial circumstances requiring specialist intervention.
• Deliver FCA-regulated debt advice, welfare benefits advice, budgeting support, income maximisation and advocacy.
• Develop personalised support plans that address both immediate financial crisis and longer-term resilience.
• Negotiate with creditors, landlords, utility providers and statutory agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients.
• Support clients to access appropriate debt solutions, including Debt Relief Orders and bankruptcy where appropriate. 

Quality Assurance and Compliance

• Ensure all advice delivered by Wis£rmoney meets FCA requirements, Advice Quality Standard expectations and organisational policies.
• Carry out regular case reviews, file audits and quality assurance checks to maintain consistently high standards.
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of casework using AdvicePro and associated digital systems.
• Promote excellent information governance, GDPR compliance and safeguarding practice throughout the service.
• Support preparation for contract monitoring, audits and quality inspections.

Partnership Working

• Act as Navigate's operational lead within the Exeter Crisis & Resilience Fund partnership.
• Work collaboratively with Churches Housing Action Team, Encompass Southwest, Exeter City Council and other partner organisations to deliver a coordinated 'No Wrong Door' service.
• Build strong relationships with local agencies to improve referral pathways and client outcomes.
• Represent Wis£rmoney at partnership meetings, operational groups and multi-agency forums.
• Support collaborative problem-solving and contribute to the ongoing development of the partnership.

Service Delivery and Performance

• Ensure timely allocation of referrals according to client need, complexity and risk.
• Maintain oversight of client journeys, ensuring seamless transitions from crisis intervention to longer term resilience support.
• Monitor performance against contractual targets, quality standards and key performance indicators.
• Contribute to contract monitoring reports and evaluation, ensuring outcomes and impact are accurately recorded.
• Identify emerging trends, unmet need and opportunities to improve service delivery.

Outreach, Innovation and Continuous Improvement

• Promote innovative approaches that improve accessibility, efficiency and client outcomes while maintaining personalised support.
• Support the implementation of new systems, digital technologies and service improvements across the partnership.
• Encourage reflective practice and continuous improvement, identifying opportunities to strengthen processes and remove barriers for clients.
• Keep up to date with changes in legislation, regulation and best practice relating to money advice, welfare benefits and financial inclusion.

Safeguarding and Risk Management

• Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are fully implemented across the service.
• Provide advice and escalation support for safeguarding concerns and high-risk cases.
• Promote safe working practices for staff delivering home visits, outreach and community-based support.
• Foster a culture where safeguarding, professional curiosity and client wellbeing underpin every aspect of service delivery.

We’re looking for a Receptionist & Challenge Event Assistant to join our friendly Challenge Event team. This role is the first point of contact for many supporters of the Charity. It is also an integral part of the Challenge Events Team, assisting with managing a portfolio of third-party challenge events. Dealing directly with supporters and liaising with teams across the Charity, the role requires an effective communicator, with great attention to detail, who is proactive and has a passion for fundraising.

What you’ll be doing

• Be the first point of contact for all enquiries at the Charity’s reception desk in Sutton.
• Provide excellent supporter care by responding to event enquiries quickly and efficiently and providing advice and support where necessary.
• Work across a variety of different digital platforms to help process challenge event registrations.
• Send relevant materials and letters to supporters in a timely manner, keeping an accurate record of these communications on the database.
• Ensure the event information on the charity website and displayed within the hospital is up-to-date and relevant. This will include poster sites, notice boards and leaflets around the hospital. 
• Provide support with the delivery of events including preparing equipment and materials.

About you

You’ll be a friendly, organised and proactive individual who enjoys working with people and delivering a great supporter experience. Whether through customer service, volunteering or a similar role, you’ll be confident building positive relationships, managing multiple priorities and communicating effectively with a wide range of people. You’ll have strong attention to detail, good IT skills, and a practical approach to problem-solving. About the Role

This is a key operational role at the heart of The Loss Foundation's support services. You'll coordinate our programme of bereavement support events and act as the main point of contact for our extraordinary community of volunteers who give their time to ensure nobody faces cancer bereavement alone. We're entering an exciting period of growth. Over the next few years we're expanding our national support services, growing our volunteer community and investing in new ways to reach more bereaved people than ever before. James’ Place London, Suicide Prevention Therapist

THE CHARITY 
Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 35 and three quarters of those who die by suicide are men. James’ Place exists to save the lives of men in suicidal crisis through delivering clinical services. We are a charity currently offering free, life-saving therapy to suicidal men at our centres in Liverpool, London, Newcastle and Birmingham. 

James’ Place was set up by Clare Milford Haven and Nick Wentworth-Stanley in 2008 after their twenty-one-year-old son, James, died by suicide ten days after a minor operation. James had no history of mental illness or depression and had sought urgent help for anxiety and suicidal thoughts but didn’t find it.    

James' Place was set up to make the experience of finding help as easy as possible. We offer men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis a brief, intensive, therapeutic intervention in a safe environment. Men who walk through the door at James’ Place will be in a space where they feel valued and respected.  We provide a calm and peaceful environment both inside the centres and in our outside spaces, accessible to men who visit us as well as their friends and families. We have so far treated over 4,300 men who might otherwise have been unable to access the support they desperately need.

THE OPPORTUNITY 
We are expanding our team of clinicians to deliver our clinically proven intervention at our James’ Place centre in London. As a Suicide Prevention Therapist, you will be an experienced mental health professional or therapist with demonstrable interest in suicide prevention. You will support men who are experiencing a suicidal crisis and their supporter(s), delivering our unique intervention and co-producing effective safety plans to maintain their safety. Training and support will be provided by the Head of Centre in London and the wider James’ Place team. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
Clinical

• Conduct initial Welcome Assessments with men in a suicidal crisis, assessing risk and the suitability of the James’ Place intervention and co-producing effective safety plans 
• Deliver our therapeutic intervention, building trust and exploring the reasons for crisis
• Use the Lay Your Cards on the Table intervention to encourage men to talk about and explore their feelings, attitudes and behaviours and develop positive coping strategies 
• Take full clinical responsibility of the men under James’ Place care, as a member of the clinical team and in consultation with Senior Suicide Prevention Therapist and Head of Centre when needed
• Escalate care to appropriate services when necessary, including emergency services and secondary mental health teams 
• Deliver one-off guidance sessions to supporters of men under the James’ Place care
• Work collaboratively with other professionals to coordinate comprehensive care
• Demonstrate self-awareness and regularly dedicate time and space, inside and outside of work, to keeping yourself well 
• Undergo clinical supervision with a qualified supervisor to reflect on clinical work and raise any issues or concerns arising from work
• Remain up to date with developments in law, theories and research 
• Engage in peer support sessions, caseload discussions and Reflective Practice with the team

PERSON SPECIFICATION
The role requires someone with a relevant qualification who can confidently support men experiencing a suicidal crisis. You will need to be able to effectively conduct risk assessments and deliver our clinically proven therapeutic intervention to ensure client safety. Strong therapeutic communication, the ability to work autonomously and teamwork skills are also essential to this role, as well as the ability to build trust and hope.

• A Core Profession such as Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist or Social Worker, counselling or practitioner psychologist registered with NMC, HCPC, or Social Work England

• Accreditation as a psychological therapist, psychotherapist, or counsellor registered with BACP, UKCP, BABCP or equivalent, or have completed training and awaiting accreditation

The Welfare Advisor works within the holistic rehabilitation model of Freedom from Torture and provides welfare advice and advocacy to our clients, forming part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will receive, process and manage welfare referrals, and act as a point of contact on welfare issues primarily for the Manchester centre, and to a smaller degree, the​​ Scotland Centre.

Our team of experienced clinicians offer a range of specialist therapy interventions, to survivors of torture and organised violence, on an individual and group therapy basis. To be successful in this role you must be qualified in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, (you will be trained to doctorate level or an equivalent vocational level 7). If you are nearing the completion of your training in either discipline, we would still love to hear from you. You must have knowledge of at least one evidence-based approach to trauma therapy including trauma focused CBT, NET and EMDR, sufficient to be able to deploy this model clinically and determine appropriate intervention pathways. It is also essential that you are registered to practice as a psychologist with HCPC. Due to the psychological trauma experienced by our clients you must have up to date knowledge of relevant mental health and safeguarding legislation. Your role will include offering supervision to trainees.

Key Responsibilities

Supporter communications and engagement

• Assist with incoming and outgoing communications via telephone, email, post and social media as required.
• Respond to enquiries from community fundraisers and supporters, providing excellent customer service and timely information.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with community supporters, fundraisers and volunteers.
• Support stewardship activity, including thank-you communications, recognition initiatives, supporter updates and follow-up.
• Support the creation and distribution of supporter communications and fundraising materials.
• Act as a positive ambassador for the organisation when engaging with supporters.

Fundraising materials and administration

• Prepare, pack and post fundraising materials, resources and supporter packs.
• Monitor stock levels of fundraising materials and assist with reordering when required.
• Provide general administrative support to the fundraising team.
• Assist in the coordination and distribution of campaign and event materials.

Data management

• Accurately record and update supporter information on the organisation's CRM or database.
• Assist with maintaining data quality and ensuring records are accurate and compliant with relevant data protection requirements.
• Support reporting and information gathering as required by the team.

Research project

• Take the lead on a designated research project to identify potential fundraising opportunities, trends, partnerships, or community engagement initiatives.
• Gather, analyse and present findings to the fundraising team.
• Produce recommendations to support future fundraising strategies and activities.
• Manage the project timeline and provide regular updates on progress.

Events support

• Provide administrative and practical support for fundraising and community events as required.
• Support attendee communications and volunteer coordination where necessary.
• Undertake other event-related duties to support the wider Fundraising team during busy periods.

​About you

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Confidence in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with supporters and colleagues.
• Experience of data entry and maintaining accurate records.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Previous experience is a similiar role is highly desirable, as is experience with CRM systems, fundraising platforms, or the charity sector.
