Job description

Redemption Roasters is a social business on a mission to reduce reoffending through coffee. To achieve this, they deliver barista training both in-custody and in the community, with direct routes into employment in their 12 London coffee shops and roastery. Programme participants are then matched with a caseworker to support their transition from the training room into work. To date they have directly hired over 100 participants and their current known reoffending rate for employed participants is 0%. As a social enterprise, Redemption Roasters thinks differently from other specialty coffee companies - they believe profit powers their purpose, and by roasting, serving, and selling exceptional coffee, they are uniquely positioned to help prison leavers start a new chapter.

Redemption Roasters is currently seeking a Head of Impact to lead their work to reduce reoffending. The role is responsible for the company’s social mission, identifying effective and financially sustainable ways to deepen their impact through both their social enterprise and the Redemption Roasters Foundation. The Head of Impact will oversee training and employment support for programme participants in custody and in the community, whilst shaping the strategy for the Impact Department, ensuring programmes are well-run, measurable and financially disciplined. A key part of the role is strong financial leadership - managing budgets, securing funding, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of Redemption's impact work. The role would suit an experienced third sector leader with a strong track record in programme delivery and fundraising, and a passion for enabling people to succeed.

To apply for this opportunity, you will have significant senior leadership experience within charities or social enterprises. You will have outstanding financial management capability, including developing and managing budgets, understanding unit economics, and rigorously reporting on financial performance. You will have exceptional communication skills with the ability to forge relationships and partnerships for the benefit of service growth and will be commercially astute. Overall, you will be a dynamic senior leader, passionate about delivering high quality future-focussed services that empower and transform people’s lives.

To apply for this exciting opportunity, please initially submit your CV (in Word format). Suitable candidates will then be contacted and will be asked to complete a supporting statement (cover letters are not required at this stage).

Redemption Roasters is an international and multicultural business with customers, suppliers, and employees from across the globe. Fostering diversity in the workplace is both right and good for business. Gender, belief, ethnicity, origins, disability, sexual orientation, marital status, age or history of incarceration doesn't matter. If you perform, you'll fit in, whoever you are. We welcome applications from people with backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in the specialty coffee industry.

If you have any disability and require reasonable adjustment/s to any part of the process please reach out directly to Victoria at Prospectus.

Please note this role is based onsite at Redemption Roaster’s Head Office in King’s Cross.
