About the Role

As a Caseworker, you will provide structured, tailored support plans based on holistic assessments for individuals affected by crime. You will make initial contact with victims via the telephone, then tailor the support to the Victims preferences i.e. home visits or via conference calls, to explain our services, and assess the impact of crime. Your responsibilities will include developing, delivering, and monitoring safety and support plans, providing resources, interventions, and information to service users.

As a Caseworker you will:

• Manage a caseload of self-referred & referred service users, providing information & advocacy to help them navigate the criminal justice process.
• Conduct risk & needs assessments, ensuring each victim receives tailored support & information.
• Identify barriers to accessing services & work with partners to provide ongoing support.
• Keep accurate & confidential case records.

About You

You will have an understanding of the impact of crime on victims & experience in delivering services within a statutory, voluntary, or multi-agency setting. Experience in managing a caseload and of completing risk & needs assessments would be beneficial.

You will need:

• Strong written & verbal communication skills.
• Competent IT skills, able to use generic systems.
• Good organisational & time management skills, able to manage competing needs and priorities.
• To work effectively both as part of a team & independently
• To develop & maintain partnerships with internal & external organisations.
• The ability to maintain professional boundaries & confidentiality.

Senior Project Officer (Community Development and Training)

Groundwork South is seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Project Officer (Community Development and Training) to support delivery of our National Lottery-funded Communities Prepared programme in Devon.

Communities Prepared works with volunteers and communities across England to help them build the skills, confidence and knowledge needed to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies. This includes supporting communities to plan for climate-related risks such as flooding, storms, heat waves, and severe weather.

This role will play a key part in delivering the final stages of the Devon Resilience Innovation Project (DRIP), a £7.3 million programme funded through the UK Government’s Flood and Coastal Resilience Innovation Programme and administered by the Environment Agency.

Working closely with partners including Devon County Council, you will engage with communities across Devon to increase awareness of flood risk and support them to strengthen their resilience.

About the Project and the Role

The Devon Resilience Innovation Project (DRIP) is testing innovative ways to improve flood resilience in communities across Devon. This role will focus on engaging 28 priority communities to assess uptake of support for community emergency planning and Flood Warden training.

Key Responsibilities

As Senior Project Officer, you will:

• Design and deliver a targeted community engagement plan across Devon.
• Raise awareness of local climate and flood risks.
• Support communities to develop emergency and flood plans.
• Help establish and support Flood Action Groups and Flood Wardens.
• Deliver training and workshops both online and in person.
• Work collaboratively with programme partners and stakeholders.
• Monitor and report on community engagement and participation.
• Track and evidence engagement activity and outcomes.
• Contribute to project meetings and programme reporting.

We are looking for someone with:

• Experience in community engagement or community development.
• Experience delivering training or workshops.

Overall Purpose
 
The PR and Marketing Lead plays a pivotal role in protecting and enhancing the NHS Charity sector’s brand reputation across media and digital channels and to reach our key audiences. As a senior member of the Strategic Engagement team, the postholder will help shape and deliver a compelling narrative about the role, need and impact of NHS charities, working with our NHS charity members to ensure our story is told in an emotive and engaging way.
 
Working closely with the Director of Strategic Engagement, the Associate Director of Communications, Communications Lead, PR Manager and the wider team, the postholder will provide strategic leadership across PR, digital content, brand messaging and storytelling. They will oversee forward planning of media moments, manage day-to-day PR operations, guide digital content strategy, and coordinate events and campaigns that raise the profile of the charity sector and deepen engagement with supporters, partners and members.
The role combines strategic oversight, hands-on content leadership, and team management to ensure coordinated, impactful communications that support our organisational goals.
 
Overall Objectives

• Protect and enhance the NHS charity sector brand and reputation across PR and digital channels.
• Lead a cohesive media and marketing strategy that tells compelling stories of the impact and need of NHS charities to priority audiences.
• Ensure brand messaging and visual identity remain consistent and effective across channels and across the organisation.
• Oversee the gathering and use of powerful case studies that demonstrate sector impact, to support PR and marketing activities, working closely with the wider strategic engagement team
• Manage the PR Manager and Senior Communications Officer to maximise reach, engagement, and influence.

Key Responsibilities
 
The main duties and responsibilities of the role holder are as outlined below;
 
Media and Marketing Strategy

• Lead the strategic direction of PR, marketing and digital activity to support organisational priorities.
• Ensure an integrated approach across media, digital and brand, aligning messaging and creative.
• Coordinate with internal teams to develop forward plans for proactive media moments, using case studies, campaigns, thought leadership, reports and partnerships.
• Identify and mitigate risks that may impact reputation, coordinating responses with internal teams.

 
Brand and Messaging

• Oversee brand messaging and visual identity, collaborating with members to  galvanise engagement and reach and ensuring consistent application across all channels.
• Provide guidance to colleagues and external partners on tone of voice, key messages and visual standards.
• Ensure communications are inclusive, accessible and reflective of the communities we serve.

 
Storytelling and Content Leadership

• Oversee development of versatile, high-quality content including imagery, video, copy, and digital storytelling assets, working closely with the Communications Lead to take a strategic approach across audiences.
• Shape the forward content plan for digital channels, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
• Use data and insight to inform digital content strategy and continuous improvement.
• Lead and inspire the team to gather emotive case studies that bring to life the work and impact of NHS charities.

 
Media Operations

• Oversee a responsive, well-run press office managing enquiries, monitoring coverage and ensuring timely, high-quality responses.
• Support and guide the PR Manager to maximise media presence with target audiences.
• Build relationships with journalists and position NHS Charities Together and the wider NHS charity sector with our priority audiences.
• Oversee the team to manage our relationships with high profile supporters and celebrities.
• Act as a spokesperson where appropriate.

 
Digital Channels

• Line-manage the Senior Communications Officer to ensure our digital channels effectively support organisational objectives.
• Oversee planning and delivery across website, social media and email marketing.
• Ensure digital activity is insight-led, audience-focused and continually optimised through analytics.

 
Campaigns, Events and Activities

• Oversee delivery of campaigns and events, ensuring they are well planned, impactful and aligned to brand and messaging.
• Work with internal teams to maximise the communications and marketing potential of organisational activities.
• Provide strategic input and coordination across multi-channel campaigns.

 
Collaboration and Leadership

• Work closely with the Director of Strategic Engagement and the Associate Director of Communications and Engagement and the Communications Lead to develop shared priorities, workflows and team culture.
• Provide leadership, mentoring and clear direction to team members.
• Represent Communications across the organisation and with external partners when required.

Purpose 

The Living Wage Foundation has an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as a Communications Officer. We are looking for an exceptionally motivated and organised individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high-profile communications environment.

The role will support the objectives of the Living Wage Foundation and Citizens UK by communicating our work to a wide range of audiences, including senior business leaders and politicians, through a mix of communications methods: social media, newsletters, media outlets, website and internal communications channels. The role will be predominantly focused on work and wages activity through the Living Wage Foundation, but there will be opportunities to support cross-Citizens UK communications activity including for example: campaigns on housing, refugees and more. 

This post will be joining a Communications team that spans media, digital communications, research and events, with colleagues based across the UK with monthly in-person team meetings. 

The post holder will support the delivery of our media and press office activity, including monitoring media coverage, supporting with journalist enquiries, and helping to develop proactive press campaigns to build awareness of the Living Wage Foundation’s work. They will also support the creation of written and visual content across our channels and help monitor and manage our social media presence on a day-to-day basis. The role will work closely to support the Communications team’s work and help communicate the work of the wider-team and our employer network. 

The role is also responsible for key communications with our network of over 16,000 accredited Living Wage Employers, including our monthly newsletters, blogs, videos and case studies to celebrate our network of accredited employers   

The position would suit an applicant with strong written and communication skills, with some experience of working within a communications team and a passion for press work, social media and content creation.  

We don’t expect you to have experience of all areas of this job. Training will be provided to help you develop into this role. 

Main Responsibilities 

Working as a Communications Officer for the Living Wage Foundation, reporting to the Media Manager, your main responsibilities will include: 

Media 

• Contribute to media strategies and plans that help to win public, business and political support for the Living Wage Foundation and its work 

• Write compelling press releases, blogs and opinion editorials to promote the Living Wage Foundation’s work 

• Support story gathering and storytelling development with workers, employers and others affected by low pay and insecure work, ensuring lived experience and employer voices are reflected effectively across media work and wider communications platforms 

• Build effective relationships with the media, colleagues and other stakeholders to find new ways to raise our profile 

• Monitor and evaluate media campaigns and reports

• Maintain and regularly update communications resources, including press contact lists, internal databases and other media materials 

• Participate in the out of hours duty press (being on hand to very occasionally answer emails and phone calls in the evenings or weekends) 

Social and digital media 

• Oversee our digital communications channels to raise awareness of the Living Wage and our wider accreditation schemes, champion responsible employers and grow our movement. 

• Help the team keep up to date with social media trends and opportunities.

• Create, manage and schedule posts for our social media channels including, LinkedIn, Instagram, Bluesky, Facebook and YouTube, tailoring the content to different channels and audiences. 

• Monitor our social media channels, replying to enquiries from the public and our networks of supporters and employers and flagging any potential issues to the wider team 

Content creation 

• Working with the communication team, design and implement engaging digital engagement campaigns for Living Wage Employers and supporters, and to support Living Wage Foundation campaigns.

• Design communications collateral to increase engagement on social media, including creation and editing of short-form videos for our online channels and creation of social media graphics. 

• Improve our digital offering for our network of accredited Living Wage, Living Hours and Living Pension Employers, by creating resources and improving our communications support. 

• Liaise with the Living Wage and Citizens UK team to keep up-to-date with news to share with key stakeholders 

• Collate and summarise content to schedule newsletters and updates for our varied audiences. 

• Support in adoption of updated brand across our communications content and materials, supporting others to use brand and tone of voice guidelines. 

• Sourcing and creating original content for both the Living Wage Foundation and external websites, including creating blog posts, news, guidance and general pages. 

• Auditing and reviewing existing website content to ensure it is effective and up-to-date. Support on improvements and developments where necessary. 

Network communications 

• Drafting email communications to support the experience of our network of accredited employers, including regular newsletters as well as automated email content for new accreditations.

• Work closely with the Operations and Insight team to put in place the communications infrastructure to help our network of employers engage with us online, e.g. utilising our online dashboard for accredited members and creating new resources.

General 

• Administrate and facilitate communications team meetings. 

• Communications support for key events and campaign moments including the annual Champion Awards and Living Wage Week

War on Want challenges the root causes of poverty and injustice. We run impactful campaigns in the UK - and work with partner organisations across the Global South. We are currently relaunching our trade justice campaigning and are looking for an energetic early career campaigner to work on it. 

The trade system sits at the heart of the rigged global economy. It perpetuates social, economic and climate injustice. From fossil fuel corporations suing governments in secret courts, to British mining giants violently extracting minerals from countries in the Global South, to upholding neocolonial patterns of economic inequality. 

Our re-launched campaign will challenge these secret ‘ISDS’ courts and the dangerous global rush for critical minerals, while championing trade justice.
