Role Overview
You will lead on the scoping and exploration of new service areas, specifically children and young people, emotional wellbeing, diet, and fatigue. In doing so, you’ll gather and analyse insight from research, stakeholders, and lived experience to inform service design and ensure developments are evidence based and aligned with our strategy. You’ll work closely with teams across the organisation, including policy and research, to ensure feedback is used to inform planning and supports delivery in their areas. Furthermore, you’ll be using your management skills to support and provide effective day to day leadership and coordination within the Services & Support team.
About You
We are looking for someone with strong project management skills, who has experience of stakeholder engagement and an analytical skill set. You’ll have demonstrable experience of scoping, designing, and developing new services, programmes, or projects at a strategic level and experience of leading support services in a health charity

Our Location
We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. In this role, there is plenty of scope for working from home, although there will be times when you will need to be at face-to-face meetings. There is a requirement for you to attend a minimum of 12 in person days a year, including two Directorate meetings and the charity’s mandatory ‘All Staff Together’ days which take place four times a year at our offices in Hatfield or a location in London.

This will include managing staff teams to ensure effective advocacy is provided to survivors who are at medium/standard risk and their children.
A key requirement is to provide personal welfare support and to ensure that survivors are provided with a safe, supportive outreach service
Suitable candidates must have proven experience of providing direct emotional and practical support, and of managing case work. About the role
The Senior Legacy Manager will lead the development and delivery of London’s Air Ambulance Charity’s legacy programme, ensuring legacy giving is embedded across fundraising and marketing activity and is front of mind across the organisation.
This role is responsible for managing our legacy marketing programme, working closely with the marketing team to deliver compelling, sensitive and effective activity. Working across the Fundraising and Marketing Directorate, the Senior Legacy Manager will champion legacies as a vital form of support, collaborating closely with all teams in the directorate. About School of Food
Set up in March 2020, Hackney School of Food (HSoF) is a food education hub on the grounds of Mandeville Primary School in Clapton, East London. Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of children, families, and our community by developing practical skills and confidence in food growing and cooking, from seed to spoon.
In 2023, we became a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), and have since grown our team, strengthened our governance and expanded our facilities with the addition of a new Garden Room, increasing capacity for workshops, dining and events. Role Overview
This brand-new role offers an exciting opportunity to develop and deliver Hackney School of Food’s commercial and marketing strategy, with a focus on growing key income streams including corporate engagement, paid workshops and events, and venue hire. You will shape how HSoF positions itself externally and how we grow our trading income to subsidise our food education community offer.
While this is currently a freelance role, it is not a transactional position; you’ll collaborate closely with our team, supported by and reporting to our Managing Director. Outputs & Success Measures (First 6 Months – Indicative)
We recognise that Hackney School of Food is at a growth stage and that commercial income is shaped by many factors, including capacity, seasonality and market conditions. These outputs are intended as guiding success measures rather than rigid targets.
By the end of the initial six-month contract, the Commercial & Marketing Lead will have:
● Produced and agreed a clear Commercial & Marketing Delivery Plan for Hackney School of Food, setting priorities for growing our commercial income in a way that aligns with our mission.
● Refined our core commercial offers and packages (e.g. corporate away days, team volunteering, venue hire, paid public workshops), ensuring they are appealing and realistic to deliver.
● Built a healthy pipeline by identifying and actively pursuing 10–15 well-aligned commercial leads, with a focus on quality of fit as well as volume.
● Supported a meaningful increase in commercial enquiries, alongside capturing learning about what kinds of outreach, messaging and partnerships resonate most.
● Created a suite of core marketing assets for commercial activity (e.g. simple decks).
● Delivered at least two targeted promotional pushes (for example around corporate away days), testing approaches and learning what works best.
● Increased the visibility of our commercial offers across agreed channels (e.g. website, LinkedIn, email and partners), with light-touch reporting on reach.

Main purpose and scope of the role
This is a pivotal leadership role within the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) at Medical Detection Dogs (MDD), combining strategic oversight with hands-on operational involvement. As Head of Fundraising, you will lead the development and delivery of MDD’s income generation strategies across multiple streams.
