General Overview

FearFree delivers services across the Southwest for victims, children and perpetrators of domestic abuse, sexual violence and stalking, with the aim to break the cycle of abuse and support all to live free from fear. We provide trauma responsive support, and this post will be fundamental to ensuring service users, stakeholders and partners experience this in our daily delivery.

The aim of the Interpersonal Trauma Response Service is to improve the health, wellbeing and safety of people who have been exposed to trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse.

You will work across a specified number of GP practices across North Devon, to offer support to health professionals working in practices, people who have experience of interpersonal trauma arising from sexual violence and abuse and/or domestic abuse, as well as a service for people at risk of perpetrating abuse.

You and the team will provide training to GP surgeries to improve identification, enquiry, and response for patients. You and your team will also support adults and children who have been impacted by interpersonal trauma with emotional and practical support, focusing on trauma stabilisation. The team will be responsible for facilitating timely access to further appropriate support services where needed.

FearFree is committed to flexible and hybrid working and this role will be a mix of home based and requiring travel to GP practices and for multi-agency meetings and other deliverables. Occasional travel to the FearFree office in Exeter and other locations will also be required.

This role may include evening and weekend work when required.

Key Responsibilities

• To provide specialist, individual and needs-led domestic abuse and sexual violence advocacy and support to patients who are or have experienced, who are referred from participating practices or self-refer, and to provide onward referrals where appropriate. 
• Provide direct assessment, casework support, advice, information, and advocacy through telephone contact, and/or meetings at the relevant practice. 
• Provide support to increase people’s personal safety, and that of any children, and inform them of their rights and options in terms of housing, legal and welfare rights.
• To provide signposting and onward referrals to patients.
• To provide ongoing specialist advice and support around Domestic Abuse (DA) and Sexual Violence (SV) to practice teams. 
• To encourage general practice health professionals to ask patients about their experience of abuse and respond, record, safety check and refer. 
• To provide feedback on case outcomes to referring clinicians. 
• To collect and collate performance and monitoring data for reporting purposes. 
• Provide in-house training and refresher training for general practice teams on understanding, recognising, and responding to DA and SV. 
• Develop good working relationships and liaise with outside agencies where needed.
• Keep accurate records of all referrals received and of work done with or on behalf of service users. 
• Deliver DA and SV training to clinicians and non-clinical staff in participating general practices.
• Develop a good relationship with all general practice staff and work effectively as part of the practice team. 
• Contribute to monitoring and evaluation of the programme collecting required data and producing written reports as requested.

Main Duties

• Provide secretariat support to ClientEarth UK Board of Trustees, working closely with the Assistant to the CEO and Board to ensure the well-coordinated delivery of meetings, including coordinating and facilitating scheduling, forward planning, setting of agendas and invitations, and managing, filing, and maintaining all required documentation.

Crisis is the national charity for people experiencing homelessness. We have embarked on our 10-year strategy for ending homelessness. We know it is not inevitable. We know together we can end it.

You’ll be joining a team dedicated to raising vital year-round income and making Crisis supporters feel valued and inspired. This role will support the delivery of our Mid-Value Programme, as we continue to grow this crucial source of sustainable income and inspire more supporters to deepen their commitment to ending homelessness.

About the role

Mid-value giving sits at the heart of our new Brand, Marketing and Fundraising Strategy as one of our highest-priority income streams. As Individual Giving Executive, you’ll play a key role in delivering a programme of appeals, stewardship and supporter experience that delivers real tangible impact for Crisis and brings people closer to our mission to end homelessness.

As we evaluate and refine our Mid-value offer to supporters, you’ll be using creativity and innovation to develop campaigns and communications to inspire people with this way of giving. By collaborating with colleagues from across the organisation and our trusted partners, you’ll be bold in delivering an impactful stewardship programme that nurtures our supporters’ consideration and creates new opportunities for them to feel valued. You’ll take an equitable approach in sharing stories of people experiencing homelessness, to deepen our supporters’ engagement and bring them closer to our mission.

About you

We’re looking for an organised project-manager and ideally someone with experience of delivering communications to a mass audience and/or more tailored stewardship. You’ll be an excellent communicator, online and in print, and be comfortable having tactful conversations with our supporters.

We are a dynamic team that delivers results and we’re entering a crucial planning phase for Crisis. So we’re looking for someone who can learn quickly and happy to get involved with multiple projects straight away. To be successful in this role you will:

• be an effective project-manager, adept at engaging and influencing stakeholders and fostering collaboration to achieve objectives
• enjoy thinking creatively and using storytelling to bring complex issues to life
• be confident in your communication skills, whether writing persuasively for a specific audience or talking 1:1 with a supporter of Crisis
• be comfortable using digital platforms and technology and working with data to improve outcomes
• take an organised and proactive approach to managing your workload and balancing different priorities
• be a solutions-focused problem solver and ready to adapt to a changing environment

Previous experience in direct marketing or stewardship is essential, ideally within a fundraising context. Most of all we’re looking for a candidate who’s passionate about ending homelessness and can play an active role in a busy, diverse and dynamic team.

Support Worker

We're looking for a kind, compassionate and resilient Support Worker to join our Mental Health Social Care Service in Flying Angel, Newham.

£28,808.00 per annum, working 40 hours per week.

Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop their life skills, which they require to meet their assessed needs. In some cases, this will include providing physical, domestic, emotional and social care. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.

What you'll do:

- Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation

- Participate in the support planning and risk management, as facilitated by the lead Support Worker

- Carry out security duties to ensure the safety of the customers and premises

- Monitor the CCTV throughout the shift

- Enable customers to make full use of community facilities by providing support as directed
