We’re looking for a Principal Officer – Engagement to lead the development and delivery of SYMCA’s Engagement Strategy, embedding a culture of creative, inclusive, high-quality engagement across the organisation. You’ll coordinate engagement activities, manage engagement leads, and ensure that all engagement work aligns with the Mayor’s priorities and SYMCA’s strategic objectives. This is a senior role with significant influence—helping to build trust, strengthen relationships, and improve outcomes for South Yorkshire.

About the role

In this role, you’ll champion best practice in engagement, ensuring that SYMCA’s approach is ethical, accessible, and impactful. You’ll design and deliver engagement activities and training, provide internal consultancy, and work with partners to maximise collective impact. Key responsibilities include:

• Design and deliver a corporate engagement training programme to build internal capability and confidence.
• Design and deliver some engagement activities directly but chiefly provide consultancy and advice to the organisation on ethical and accessible engagement, ensuring compliance with best practice and legal standards.
• Collaborate with Bloomberg I-Team and Insights team to co-design innovative engagement and social research projects.
• Coordinate outreach and partnership working with key stakeholders including local authorities, MCAs, Government, VCSE, and universities.
• Convene and manage internal and external engagement networks to build organisational capacity and foster peer learning.
• Identify emerging trends and best practices in engagement, translating insights into strategic recommendations.

The Technical Lead will manage the Humane Slaughter Association’s (HSA) operational and practical work to promote humane slaughter and transport of livestock (including farmed and wild-caught aquatic species) worldwide. This is a 12-month paid internship starting in March 2026, supported by the Jack Petchey Internship 
Programme. The successful candidate must be available to take up the post by Monday 23rd
March 2026. This internship is designed to provide a structured learning and development

sector. The post-holder will gain specialist knowledge working with unpaid Carers and their

The post-holder will support the delivery of activities and breaks for Young Carers (YCs) and 
Young Adult Carers (YACs), including social, educational, and wellbeing groups, groups which 
support YC and YAC personal development, create opportunities to build friendships and peer 
support networks as well as provide time out from caring roles. 

They will help raise awareness of Young Carers by attending e.g. outreach events and school 
assemblies alongside staff, will contribute to identifying new YCs, and undertake a specific 
project focused on engaging more YACs aged 18–25. This project will involve researching their 
needs and preferences and piloting activities to meet these.

Through Sutton Carers Centre’s support and the additional opportunities provided by the Jack 
Petchey Internship Programme, this internship offers a high-quality, developmental experience 
for someone starting out in the sector. It could be particularly rewarding for someone who has 
lived experience of caring and/or wants to develop specialist knowledge and skills in this area.

As data science programme lead, you will champion data science both within the organisation and externally. You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the clinical, research and industry communities to develop and drive impactful projects. Internally, you will be the go-to person for the data science programme, supporting the development of our strategy and enabling collaboration across teams including fundraising, communications and partnership development. You will also engage with funded researchers to capture and promote outputs, identify opportunities for investment and ensure our work translates into real benefits for patients.

We are looking for someone with a strong background in health sciences, life sciences or data science, combined with excellent programme management skills and the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly. You will have the confidence to build relationships, influence stakeholders and manage multiple projects simultaneously. About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional strategic leader to join us as Head of Research and Analysis. This pivotal role will strengthen the evidence base for psychological practice, enhance member value and inform policy and strategic decision‑making across the organisation.

You will lead a multi‑disciplinary team of researchers, insight specialists and data analysts to deliver high‑quality research, analysis and evaluation. Your work will shape our understanding of the psychological workforce across the UK, support the development of products and services, and generate the evidence needed to influence policy and the wider research landscape.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the development and delivery of the BPS Research and Analysis strategy.
• Oversee research standards, quality assurance processes and learned society functions, including awards and grants.
• Design, commission and deliver complex mixed‑method research and evaluation projects.
• Analyse internal and external datasets to generate actionable insight for policy, workforce planning and strategic development.
• Provide research, ethics and evaluation advice to member networks.
• Deliver market research and behavioural insights to inform member engagement.
• Build a horizon‑scanning function to identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities.
• Lead and develop a high‑performing team, manage budgets and oversee commissioned research.
• Build strong relationships with universities, research funders, learned societies and other key partners.

About You

You will be an inspirational leader with extensive experience in research, analysis and insight generation. You will have:

• A degree in psychology, economics, statistics or a related quantitative field.
• Proven experience leading multi‑disciplinary research and analysis teams.
• Expertise in qualitative and quantitative research, mixed methods and workforce analytics.
• Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, forecasting and horizon scanning.
• Experience using research and insights to drive strategic and commercial outcomes.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
• Experience managing budgets and external suppliers.

We are a large-scale restoration and hospitality project in the Northwest Highlands with strong philanthropic and community commitments. The heart of our operation is on a remote and beautiful 766-acre island. In 2026 we will become a Scottish charity - The Tanera Project – with core purposes spanning rural regeneration, resilience building in our public services via the provision of respite breaks, and ecosystem restoration.

We are looking for a Team Lead to take on the coordination of our Land and Estates Team across our island and mainland properties, totalling 6,500 acres of grounds, in-bye land, woodland and hill. The team has a wide remit, including grasskeeping, landscaping, regenerative agriculture on a crofting-scale, livestock, stalking, fishing, horses, guest activities, and supporting our gardens, ecology and path teams with extra hands when needed. The team is five strong, supported by seasonal hands, volunteers and staff from other teams working multifunctionally.

Our land management approach balances production, nature, and heritage, with an emphasis on using the land to build communities. We share everything we do with guests and volunteers so planning for and delivering shared activities is a core part of the role. We deliver our activities with an impeccable aesthetic centred round heritage, industry and creativity, requiring a real eye for detail. The Land and Estates Team covers several core functions in the charity and has a diverse remit with competing priorities so this role will appeal to proven leaders, able to deliver both on the ground and in terms of planning and organisation. It will involve turning a hand to many different tasks and many hours out and about in our challenging West Coast environment.

Regeneration
We are looking for an excellent coordinator with demonstrable experience in leading a team with a wide remit and proficiency in at least two of the team focus areas: grounds-keeping, agriculture, estate work, horses and working with guests and volunteers in an outdoor environment. The right candidate will be an experienced, creative, resourceful and flexible professional. They will have an interest in landscape scale regeneration that is attentive to heritage, productivity (food and more) and ecosystems. The salary for this role will be £40-50kpa, depending on experience.

Resilience
Our team comes from across the country and further afield. We have our own growing island community of staff, guests and volunteers, while also being embedded in mainland life in nearby crofting townships and villages. The work of the Land and Estates team is wide-ranging and there are also opportunities to work with different teams and on different projects, sail heritage boats, work with our horses, host guests, school groups and volunteers, and generally get involved with island life. We will be happy to discuss flexible shift patterns and accommodation options with the right candidate.

Restoration
The project is delivering stunning, sympathetic builds and charitable hospitality in an area of outstanding natural and cultural heritage. You will be working amid a range of unique Northwest Highland marine and terrestrial ecosystems, which we are striving to conserve and extend. We foster a culture of care, attention to detail, and creativity in everything we deliver for The Tanera Project charity, from looking after our guests, workforce, volunteers and local communities to growing and sourcing our food to restoring buildings and landscapes.
