About the Role

Independent Age is the national charity working towards ending financial hardship in later life.
Our Helpline and expert advisers offer free information and advice to older people without enough money to live on, while our external training equips professionals with the information they need to support older people on low incomes. Responsibilities and Person Specification:
As Head of Services Development, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Independent Age’s services and maximising our impact for older people facing financial hardship. You will be comfortable using data, insight and evidence to drive decision-making and have a track record of stakeholder engagement and identifying opportunities for innovation and growth.
You will also bring experience of impact measurement, evaluation, quality assurance or performance frameworks, with the ability to use evidence to demonstrate value and improve services. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, alongside the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and work across organisational boundaries. Working within the Fundraising Operations and Supporter Care Team and reporting to the Fundraising Operations and Supporter Care Manager, the Supporter Care and Data Officer will deliver excellent customer care to our supporters, responding to enquiries, and thanking supporters to help drive income and show them how valued they are to Cruse Bereavement Support. You’ll work with the fundraising CRM to ensure and maintain the quality of information available and support the Commercial Income Team (c25% of time) with administrative tasks.

The postholder will be responsible for identifying, writing, and submitting compelling, well-researched and tailored funding applications to relevant grant-giving bodies.
The post holder will work closely with the LDHAS management team to gather information, write bids, and track progress of submissions, ensuring LDHAS meets income targets as agreed by the Trustees.
The postholder will:
- Proactively research, navigate the system and identify suitable grant and funding opportunities from charitable trusts, foundations, and statutory bodies.
- Write and submit high-quality funding applications and proposals in line with LDHAS's strategic priorities working closely with the Manager and in their collaboration with key partners.
- Work collaboratively with the LDHAS Manager and colleagues to gather accurate, up-to-date data and service information for applications.

- Research and identify opportunities to raise money via businesses including payroll giving and sponsoring fundraising events.
