About the role

As Spear expands its reach, we are looking for a Development Coach who will focus on two things: equipping young people facing barriers to employment with the confidence, mindset and skills to move into sustainable work, and developing the coaches around you to do the same.

To do this, you will work across Spear Centres throughout the UK - delivering coaching sessions directly with 16–24-year-olds as well as supporting and upskilling Spear Centre teams.

You’ll move between Centres depending on where support is needed. Your location will be taken into consideration in the planning.

Key information:

• Salary: from £27,000 - £32,000 (dependent on location)
• Contract: Part-time or Full-time, 12-14 month Fixed Term Contract, with the possibility of extension; Term time only contracts would be considered
• Location: We’re looking for multiple roles to cover the UK. We are seeking a creative and conscientious communications leader with exceptional attention to detail and demonstrable expertise in developing and delivering high-impact strategic communications outputs in the international development or third sector. We are a relatively small team and are therefore looking for someone who is both highly strategic and able to see the ‘big picture’, while also being happy getting stuck in at an operational level to ensure timely, on-budget delivery of outputs. Experience of working with or within networks or membership organisations would be a particular asset in this role. The Global Distributors Collective (GDC) is in an excellent position, with a strong track record of delivery and impact, a solid funding pipeline, and a clear 2026-30 strategy. High-impact communication crosscuts the entire GDC programme and is essential to ensuring that beneficial products can be made affordable and available to all. As Communications Manager (maternity cover), you will therefore need to both hit the ground running to deliver our ambitious schedule of upcoming communications activities – from in-person and online events, to high-profile research, publications, and digital outputs – as well as to work proactively with the Head of GDC, Bopinc team, GDC strategic advisors, and fellow communications colleagues to shape and embed communication activities across a range of new projects that are kicking off in 2026-27.

About Practical Action and the GDC

Practical Action is an international development organisation putting ingenious ideas to work so people in poverty can change their world. For the past eight years, Practical Action has been hosting and building the Global Distributors Collective (GDC): a collective of 300 last mile distribution companies that cumulatively reach millions of the poorest consumers in the world with beneficial products like solar lanterns, water filters and improved cookstoves. GDC activities are delivered in collaboration with strategic and implementing partner Bopinc.

The GDC provides a collective voice for distributors to ensure their priorities are heard; drives research and innovation across the sector; facilitates the exchange of information, insight, and expertise; and provides critical services that leverage economies of scale.

Moving into our 2026-30 strategy phase, we are proactively shifting from creating and setting up advisory services and tools that support last mile distributors to embedding and scaling these initiatives. Specifically, we will focus on four key strategic pillars:

· Unlocking finance: Prepare more last mile distributors (LMDs) for investment and help to unlock country-level financing mechanisms and create LMD-focussed debt facilities. 

· Strengthening business performance: Deliver training, shared services, and data tools that reduce business costs and improve efficiency, in scalable formats.

· Scaling innovation: Identify, test, and replicate high-value business innovations and remove eco-system barriers.

· Shaping systems and local leadership: Build local chapters and influence global and national agendas so LMDs are visible, valued and represented. 

About you

We are looking for a go-getting, ambitious and proactive communications specialist who is ready to lead the GDC communications team to deliver a range of high-impact, top-quality, communications activities over the next 12 months. To succeed in this role, you must be a communications all-rounder, an experienced line manager, and an excellent written and verbal communicator with exceptional attention to detail, robust project management and interpersonal skills. You will be a strategic thinker with the ability to multitask, work independently and adapt in a fast-paced environment, while also being willing to “muck in” in our relatively small team. Depending on where you are based, demonstrable experience of managing remote staff will be important; as will the ability to thoughtfully support and coach team members to achieve their full potential.

The Senior Partnerships Manager is responsible for developing, securing and stewarding our partnerships, with a particular focus on the corporate and higher education spaces. Reporting to and working closely with the CEO, the postholder will lead on relationship‑driven partnership development and account management, ensuring partners experience a professional, values‑aligned and impactful relationship with Brightside.

The postholder will steward these partnerships from initial engagement through to renewal, working closely with the Partnerships Lead to support renewals and identify opportunities for deeper partner engagement. Role Purpose:

As Retention & Development Manager, you’ll grow sustainable income by keeping individual supporters inspired, informed and engaged - so they give again, stay longer, and deepen their support. You will deliver excellent supporter journey experience, project managing engaging and compelling direct, and digital individual giving activity (including – but not limited to – appeals, regular giving conversion & upgrade, lapsed reactivation) and incorporating legacies marketing, raising more than £1m voluntary income each year.

What success looks like:

• Higher Life-Time Value (LTV): more second gifts, upgrades and cross channel giving; stronger legacy pipeline.
• Lower churn: reduced lapse rates for cash and regular givers.
• Better donor experience: faster thank yous, clearer impact reporting, higher satisfaction with fewer complaints/optouts.

Supporter Experience & Journeys:

• Map and continually improve journeys: welcome → second gift; regular giving nurture/upgrade; mid-value; legacy prospecting; lapsed reactivation; complaint recovery.
• Set cadence and channel mix (email, mail, phone, SMS, social, events, digital) for consistent, donor‑first communications in appropriate channels and accessible formats.

POST OUTLINE

This is a permanent role within the Income Generation team, responsible for unlocking significant income from trusts and foundations to power the charity’s services future growth.  Working across the organisation, you will shape compelling funding opportunities, connect funders to real impact and help build a stronger, more ambitious grants programme.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a pivotal role responsible for driving significant income growth from Trusts and Foundations by developing and delivering a focused, high quality grants programme.  You will identify and secure funding for priority services, develop compelling cases for support and build strong, long-term relationships with funders.

You will take full ownership of the grants pipeline from opportunity identification through to submission and reporting, ensuring a disciplined, results-focussed approach to income generation.  As Line Manager of the Grants Team you will set clear direction, raise standards and deliver consistent performance against income targets.

• Develop and deliver a targeted Trusts and Foundations plan, prioritising opportunities aligned to organisational priorities and income potential.
• Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospects, applications, reports and renewals, ensuring a consistent flow of income.

About the role 

This role leads the day-to-day operational management and development of WGN’s Clinical Services, ensuring the delivery of innovative, safe, high-quality, survivor-centred, trauma-informed and culturally responsive support for survivors of violence against women and girls (VAWG). You will provide clinical and operational leadership across counselling services, supporting therapists and practitioners to manage clinical risk and safeguarding concerns effectively, within a Black feminist, intersectional and Holistic Empowerment Recovery (HER) framework.

This role is offered on a part-time basis (28 hours per week worked over 4 days).

Job description 

As the Clinical Manager, you will:

• Provide operational and clinical leadership across counselling services, overseeing therapeutic pathways, referrals, assessments, allocations, safeguarding and risk management, ensuring high-quality, trauma-informed and culturally responsive support.

• Support therapists, High Intensity Therapists (HITs) and honorary counsellors through clinical guidance, recruitment, induction, reflective practice, wellbeing initiatives and ongoing professional development, embedding anti-oppressive, intersectional and survivor-centred practice.

• Lead on safeguarding and multi-agency working, supporting practitioners to respond effectively to risk, maintain safe practice and ensure consistent documentation and ethical information sharing.

• Oversee clinical governance and quality assurance, ensuring adherence to professional standards, robust data protection and confidentiality practices, and the development of clinical protocols and guidance.

• Support monitoring, evaluation and impact reporting, ensuring effective data collection and survivor involvement to inform ongoing service improvement and co-production.

The Role

Working directly with our CEO, you will be the engine room of our Activities Support Programme. This is a primarily remote role, but because our heart is in the community, you must be based in Cambridgeshire to facilitate local connections and occasional travel within the county.

Your day-to-day will involve:

• Connecting: Triage and assess applications, building relationships with families and referring professionals to understand a child’s unique needs.
• Vetting: Conducting risk assessments and due diligence to ensure every activity provider we partner with meets our gold-standard safeguarding requirements.
• Facilitating: Managing the "matchmaking" process—finding the right club, negotiating payments, and tracking the budget.
• Evidencing: Collecting the stories and data that prove our impact, helping us grow and reach more young people.

Who You Are

• Experienced: You have a background in social work, youth work, teaching, or a related field. You’ve worked with families facing disadvantage, and you know how to navigate complex family difficulties.

The Role

We are looking for a Programme Coordinator to primarily lead our transformative project, MCR Social. An exciting project that supports disabled and neurodivergent young people aged 14–17 to take part in social activities they choose, building confidence, independence, and friendships.

Alongside delivery, you will play a key role in developing GMYN’s wider Disability and Neurodiversity work, building partnerships, collaborating with organisations across Greater Manchester, and influencing practice to embed youth voice and inclusive approaches.

- Experience of implementing quality assurance frameworks, monitoring, evaluating and measuring impact

We are seeking a Volunteer Support & Systems Manager to lead the development and maintenance of automated workflows used within the Volunteer Support Team.  

The role is responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the Volunteer Support function including overseeing the day-to-day administration of key volunteer processes. The postholder will also line manage the Volunteer Support Officers who act as the first point of contact to volunteers in assisting with these processes and wider administration.

 About the role

The purpose of the Volunteer Support & Systems Manager is to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Volunteer Support function by ensuring that automated workflows are well maintained and continuously improved. This includes the onboarding process for new volunteers, management of mandatory training requirements of existing volunteers and volunteer record management through processing promotions transfers and leavers. The role also provides effective line management to a team of Volunteer Support Officers, supporting them to deliver a high quality of administrative support to volunteers to assist them with these processes.

Responsibilities
