Job Title: Head of Health, Safety & Compliance
Reporting To: Chief Operating Officer

Working days/hours per week: 35 per week, Monday – Friday, 9am – 5pm

The organisation rescues high quality edible surplus food, from across the food industry and gets it to over 8,000 organisations across the UK who are working to strengthen communities and improve lives.
The charity manages seven depots across London, Suffolk, Merseyside and Hampshire and works with 16 network partners who operate a further 26 regional depots across the UK.
Over the next year our ambition is to rescue enough food nationally to provide nearly 200 million meals, turning an environmental problem into social good with measurable impact for people, planet, and the economy.
Purpose of the Job
The Head of Health, Safety & Compliance will lead the development and delivery of the functional strategy through a cascade of the overall business strategy by ensuring company compliance with relevant health, safety, environmental and Food Safety legislation. Development of necessary policies and procedures and leads the ownership of establishing a safe working environment for colleagues and local communities. Continuous improvement and execution of programmes to provide and achieve practise.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Use established NEBOSH/ IOSH Plan-do-check-act principles to drive safety improvements and leadership
- Environmental Health & Safety decisions in line with local guidance
- Liaises with external and internal key stakeholders and HSE experts and food supply leaders within partner organisations
- Ensure Safety Management Systems are up to date, relevant and manages risk appropriately, and in accordance with agreed standards
- Process ownership to ensure all significant and major SHE risks on site are quantified, managed and validated
- Monitor departmental KPI’s and challenge improvement when required to ensure targets are achieved and improved
- Develops and leads the safety, health and environment strategy and plans for the site to ensure best in class processes and policies and developing a culture of compliance and operational ownership that are regularly reviewed and updated
- Completes regular Health, Safety and Environmental audits, evaluating practices, procedures, and facilities to assess risk and adherence to the law
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety and other relevant topics
- Ensures inspections and servicing of plant, equipment and machinery is completed in compliance with relevant legislation
- Maintain records of discharge of or employee exposure to hazardous waste and/or pollutants, as required and monitor all other environmental risks to colleagues and the local community
- First Aid management including training, viewing and planning coverage, ordering and auditing of stock
- Provide functional leadership and oversight (quality check) for investigation of accidents and injuries. Coordination of incident files and the preparation of material for hearings and insurance investigations
- Ensure the operational process and production of finished goods are appropriately controlled via HACCP, to ensure compliance with food safety
- Ensure that technical governance is in place to deliver compliance with respect to internal, external and legal requirements
- Investigations into key deviations from process and specification, initiating appropriate action to bring the process back into control
- Leading the engagement of a Food Safety Culture
- Building of trust and credibility in how we operate, through significant on-site presence
- Visibility in working with food safety teams in food supply partners to create early adoption of process and policy ways of working.

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Grants Manager to join our Fundraising team and play a key role in stewarding relationships with our institutional funders. You will manage a portfolio of trusts, foundations and statutory donors, ensuring excellent account management and delivering high-quality applications and reports that help secure and grow vital funding.
Working closely with colleagues across fundraising, campaigns and finance, you will identify opportunities to deepen partnerships with existing supporters while ensuring compliance, strong communication and long-term relationship building. Your work will directly contribute to achieving our fundraising targets and supporting the organisation’s long-term financial sustainability.
About you
You are an experienced grants professional with a strong track record of securing significant income from trusts, foundations or statutory funders. You are highly organised and confident managing multiple relationships, from identifying opportunities and developing compelling proposals through to reporting and ongoing stewardship.
You are an excellent communicator with the ability to translate complex information into clear, persuasive proposals and donor updates. Collaborative and proactive, you enjoy working across teams, building trusted relationships with colleagues and funders alike. You are motivated and comfortable using own initiative.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Build relationships with a portfolio of prospective major donors, understanding philanthropic motivations and tailoring opportunities for engagement to inspire major gifts
- Leading the creation of new product ideas to encourage repeat, sustainable, mid-level gifting
- Foster a deep understanding of the charity work and strategy, including the regional network, to enable value adding support of frontline charity visits and tours

What you will do
Lead delivery across our Sprint programme and delivery community
FutureDotNow runs three 10-week Sprints each year. You will lead end-to-end delivery of the Sprint programme, ensuring activity is well structured, well-coordinated and delivers real outcomes.
You will:
· Plan and deliver Sprints end to end, including kick-offs, check-ins and in-person workshops developing agendas, content and facilitation materials
· Coordinate the setting of sprint and year-end goals, milestones and priorities aligned to FutureDotNow’s strategy
· Track actions, risks and interdependencies across sprint teams, maintaining momentum and resolving blockers
· Grow and energise the delivery community, fostering collaboration and accountability
· Produce core delivery outputs such as plans, dashboards, reports and briefings
· Update the Membership Growth and Marketing Manager on new insights, tools and solutions being created through the Sprint programme, which may form part of the FutureDotNow member offer
Lead delivery of our sector strategy to engage more businesses and drive action
Working with Marsh (our sector strategy sponsor) and sector leads, you will help turn engagement strategies into practical action across sectors.
You will:
· Support the onboarding, development and coordination of sector leads and the delivery of clear action plans

Content development and commissioning
Where workstreams are led by FutureDotNow (rather than partners), you will play a key role in content creation. Working closely with the COO, you will be involved in developing core content for deliverables, which may involve analysing data from partners, producing reports, or creating tools/resources.
You will:
· Draft, shape or edit content, such as guidance, tools, playbooks and insights, using templates, existing material or raw inputs from partners
· Commission and manage suppliers where specialist expertise is needed
· Lead and coordinate delivery through a clear milestone plan, ensuring alignment of output delivery with events and campaigning activity
· Maintain high standards of quality, consistency, evidence and accessibility ensuring all content meets FutureDotNow’s brand and tone.

ROLE OVERVIEW
As the Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will lead the development and delivery of RLSS UK’s new corporate fundraising function, create a sustainable strategy, and build a strong pipeline from the ground up.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategy and Planning
- Develop and deliver RLSS UK’s first corporate partnerships strategy, setting clear priorities and income targets for year one and beyond.
- Lead the development of a corporate partnerships income stream, building a sustainable portfolio of partnerships and relationships.
- Create the foundations for growth including a case for support, stewardship framework, pitch decks and templates and KPI and reporting tools.
- Establish systems and internal processes required for a corporate fundraising function.
- Use sector insights, benchmarking, and data to inform strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
Partnership Development
- Build and actively manage a new business pipeline from scratch, ensuring consistent prospecting and follow up.
- Conduct in-depth prospect research to identify target companies, align commercial priorities, and map key decision makers.
- Develop compelling, tailored proposals, pitches, and partnership packages that clearly articulate impact and mutual value.

Reporting and Evaluation
- Use data-driven insights and KPIs to evaluate and refine strategies for maximum impact, income growth, and return on investment.
- Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations, UK GDPR, and RLSS UK policies.
- Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasting information within the CRM system.
- Deliver annual reviews for partnerships to demonstrate impact and ensure all partnerships are meeting agreed KPIS.
- Identify emerging trends and opportunities to diversify income streams and enhance brand visibility.
