Internal Job Title: Sanctuary Support Coordinator

Hours: 35 hours per week (full time). 

Location: Home-based focussed around Cardiff and Newport, with regular travel across Wales and occasional travel to England. 

Contract: Currently funded until December 2028.

Our Seeking Sanctuary project is a Wales-based initiative delivering innovative housing solutions and community-led support for people seeking sanctuary. We combine community hosting, tenancy-based housing, and advocacy to help build a Nation of Sanctuary. 

About the role 

Reporting directly to the Sanctuary Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day delivery of our accommodation pathways, ensuring the best possible outcomes for destitute migrants and newly granted refugees. 

This is a dynamic, frontline casework role that spans three core areas of our housing provision: 

• The Hosting Project: Supporting people seeking sanctuary who have no recourse to public funds by giving them a welcoming, safe place to stay in the home of one of our volunteer hosts. 

• Refugee Lodgings: Helping to provide a safe and supported housing option for newly granted refugees at risk of homelessness by matching them with people who have a spare room. 

• Transitional Housing: Providing vital tenancy sustainment support for newly granted refugees transitioning into our shared accommodation properties. 

About you 

We are seeking a dedicated, highly organised, and empathetic professional with proven experience working directly with people experiencing homelessness, particularly asylum seekers and forced migrants. 

You will have a strong working knowledge of the housing system, the UK welfare system (including Universal Credit and Housing Benefit), and how to support people to access their entitlements. Because this role requires managing complex casework and navigating cultural nuances, you must possess strong interpersonal skills, particularly when working with vulnerable people or those with English as a second language.

We are seeking an experienced Fire Risk Assessor to deliver high quality fire safety assessments and help protect residents across a large housing portfolio.

Position: Fire Risk Assessor
Salary: £51,000 to £60,000 per annum depending on experience and qualifications plus £1,300 car allowance
Location: Stratford, London with travel across the South region including South West London
Hours: Full time, 35 hours per week

About the Role
This is a key role within a dedicated Fire Safety team, providing specialist fire safety management and risk assessment across a diverse residential portfolio.

You will be responsible for delivering a programme of Fire Risk Assessments, ensuring all properties remain safe, compliant and well managed.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessments in line with legislation and British Standards
• Undertaking site inspections across residential properties
• Producing clear, detailed FRA reports with risk ratings and recommended actions
• Managing a programme of planned assessments as well as responding to incidents
• Identifying fire risks and ensuring appropriate control measures are implemented

About You

• Understanding of fire compliance within housing associations or local authorities
• Knowledge of Approved Documents and relevant industry guidance

As we continue to diversify and grow our commercial revenue streams, we are seeking a proactive Commercial Marketing Assistant to support the promotion of key income‑generating initiatives. These include Champing (unique overnight stays in historic churches), filming, venue hire, and an expanding portfolio of leased or licensed properties. Main Duties

 Buildings and Facilities Management

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the Passage’s buildings ensuring they are safe, secure, accessible and fit for the services provided to our clients. 
• Oversee the Facilities Management team to ensure the fabric and systems of all the charity’s buildings are maintained in line with statutory and regulatory standards. 
• Work with the Facilities Management team to (i) oversee planned preventative maintenance and improvements to all of The Passage’s sites (ii) oversee and support the team to provide a quick, reliable response to maintenance and repair requests. 

Health and Safety 

• Act as the lead and Responsible Person for Health & Safety (H&S) across the organisation including risk assessments, accurate and timely recording of health and safety issues, carrying out audits and investigations as necessary.
• Respond to any reported H&S risks, prioritising any reported risks with a significant potential for harm. 
• Ensure The Passage is compliant with all relevant H&S statutory, regulatory and legislative requirements, including but not limited to: Fire safety; Gas, Electrical and Water safety; Asbestos management; RSH regulations.

Relationship Management (Contractors and Suppliers) 

•  Ensure relationships with key services suppliers are well managed by the Facilities Management team. Work with the team to monitor the quality and timing of external contractors’ work and to address any shortcomings promptly. 
• Ensure that all contracts for ongoing work and for one-off pieces of work are awarded in full accordance with The Passage’s procurement policy, ensuring best value for money and high-quality delivery. Together with the Facilities Management team, ensure contractors conduct themselves professionally and respectfully whilst attending any of the Passage’s locations and to ensure they follow our safeguarding policy at all times.

Teamwork and Line Management 

• Line manage the Facilities Management Co-ordinator with an emphasis on supportive communication, skills development and progress towards personal objectives, including his line management of other members of the team.
• Develop positive relationships with all other teams at The Passage’s multiple sites and promote practices to reduce the need for repairs and replacements. 

Financial 

• Develop and manage the Facilities Management budget, including capital spend, monitoring spending against budget and explaining variances. 
• Support business planning through accurate forecasting and long-term planning of major financial spending.
• Ensure value for money and effective financial control across all areas of responsibility. 

General Responsibilities 

• Working with your Line Manager, develop your role to keep pace with The Passage’s plans and ambitions; participate in regular supervision and annual appraisal and to lead in identifying your own development and training needs. 
• Represent The Passage in a professional manner at all times, carrying out your role to a high standard, and to always work in accordance with the aims, values and ethos of The Passage.
• Make sure The Passage’s policies are followed within Buildings & Facilities Management, particularly those for Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Data Protection and Equality and Diversity.

Desired Experience

• E1 Proven experience in leading a Buildings and Facilities Management function, including effective management of external contractors.

• E4 Experience of playing leading role in major projects as well as day to day operations.

Desired Knowledge

As our Senior Internal Auditor, you will support WaterAid to continuously strengthen internal controls and effective risk management by the delivery of internal audit engagements working closely with management to drive sustainable change. 

In this role, you will: 

• Deliver risk-based internal audits to provide assurance that financial and other control procedures are appropriate and implemented as designed.

The Housing Needs Service is integral in effectively preventing homelessness and supporting service users into permanent and sustainable accommodation. The Housing Needs Service involves working collaboratively with other internal services, including the Resettlement Team, the Employment Service, the Housing Solutions Service and Passage House Assessment Centre, to assess the housing needs of service users and identify appropriate accommodation options.

This service is key part of the No Night Out service (NNO), an innovative model that provides rapid intervention and support for individuals at imminent risk of rough sleeping for the first time. Service users are provided with emergency accommodation, assessed by the Housing Needs Service and supported to view and sign up for Private Rented Sector properties within a target timeframe of 14 days. The Housing Needs Service works closely with the Resettlement Team to achieve successful outcomes within this prevention service.

The Housing Rights Worker will provide high-quality housing advice, advocacy and casework support to individuals and communities experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity or other housing-related problems. You will empower clients by delivering practical solutions and helping them understand and exercise their statutory rights, while contributing to the organisation’s objectives of preventing homelessness and improving access to safe, secure housing.

The Housing Rights Worker is required to:

• Prevent homelessness wherever possible by supporting clients to understand and exercise their legal and statutory housing rights.
• Provide specialist housing advice, advocacy and casework support to individuals experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity or housing-related difficulties.
• Working collaboratively with the Intervention Worker’s caseload of clients, ensuring high-quality client-centred support.
• Represent and advocate on behalf of clients in dealings with landlords, local authorities and other statutory or voluntary agencies.
• Sourcing suitable accommodation options, including shared and private rented accommodation, particularly for single people under 35 affected by Shared Accommodation Rate restrictions.
• Empower individuals and communities by increasing awareness of housing rights, entitlements and available support services.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of housing advice services.

Main Duties

Housing Advice & Casework

• Provide advice on homelessness legislation, housing law, tenancy rights, housing debt and welfare benefits impacting housing affordability.
• Support under 35s to access sustainable housing solutions, addressing affordability barriers and landlord engagement.
• Assisting Housing Need workers with preparing clients for viewings, tenancy sign-ups and moving into accommodation.
• Identify and advocate on the client’s behalf to address concerns relating to property condition, safety and housing standards.
• Represent and advocate on behalf of clients in dealings with landlords
• Negotiate with landlords, housing providers and local authorities to prevent eviction or resolve disputes.

Partnership & Multi- Agency Working

• Build relationships with private landlords and letting agents to increase access to suitable shared housing and private rented accommodation for people under 35.
• Work creatively to overcome barriers faced by young single people in accessing accommodation
• Work proactively with landlords and letting agents to ensure they understand and adhere to their legal responsibilities, including tenancy management, notice procedures, and statutory obligations.
• Encourage early resolution of disputes between landlords and tenants to prevent escalation and homelessness

Community Engagement & Outreach

• Work collaboratively with community groups and partner organisations.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with local authorities, housing associations, supported accommodation providers, and voluntary sector partners.
• Participate in multi-agency meetings and case conferences.
• Empower individuals and communities by increasing awareness of housing rights, entitlements and available support services.
• Deliver workshops, information sessions and outreach activities to raise awareness of housing rights and housing options.​

Service Development

• Provide feedback on emerging housing trends affecting under 35s and other client groups.
• Assist with reporting and meeting service targets.
• Contribute to the development and improvement of housing advice services.
• Develop accessible information resources tailored to young people
• Promote good practice within the private rented sector and encourage responsible landlord engagement.

As Engagement Co-ordinator you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of an audience led, public programme of talks, tours and exhibitions at the Cathedral, as well as working with us to plan and deliver a great visitor experience. As a champion of great public engagement you’ll deliver high standards of presentation at the Cathedral, maximising opportunities to deepen visitors understanding of our stories and mission.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Engagement Programme 

• Plan, co-ordinate and deliver an engaging public programme of visitor led events, aimed at building new audiences and boosting our visitor numbers 
• Work with the Head of Engagement, to develop the group visit offer, ensuring forthcoming anniversaries and activities are exploited 
• Support the Head of Engagement to deliver the Social Justice Programme, identifying opportunities within existing talks and tours programming to further support the annual theme
• Provide administration of all groups and public tours, ensuring they are booked and co-ordinated accurately 
• Coordinate with the Audience Development Manager to evaluate visitor and volunteer feedback, taking action to make improvements as necessary  
• Work with external stakeholders and speakers to deliver an engaging year-round expert talks series

Financial administration

• Work with the Finance Team, ensure all fees for engagement events are invoiced and paid for in advance 

 Relationships 

• Line management of the Cathedral Guides volunteer team, working with the Head Guide to ensure guides are kept up to date of Cathedral policy and are trained and delivering excellent customer service 
• Work with the Verging and Property team to ensure events are coordinated and delivered to a high professional standard  

 Other 

• Support the Head of Engagement to deliver large scale public events providing administrating and on the day delivery support

This role is central to Greenpeace UK’s legacy programme, managing a varied caseload from straightforward estates to complex and high-value cases. As a newly created position, it brings legacy administration fully in-house and will play a key role in ensuring income is realised in full, accurately managed, and delivered in line with best practice.

As Legacy Case Manager, you will: 

• Manage a caseload of residuary, pecuniary, life interest, discretionary, and high-value legacies, including contentious cases
• Lead on the preparation, monitoring and reporting of the legacy income budget and mid year forecasts, working closely with Finance and Fundraising colleagues to provide accurate, timely projections and variance analysis
• Work closely with internal teams and build effective external relationships with solicitors, executors and families to support positive outcomes
• Identify and resolve complex issues involving probate, trusts, tax, property, or litigation
• Represent Greenpeace UK externally with professionalism, fostering constructive relationships with pledgers, executors, solicitors, and sector peers
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, Charity Commission guidance, and ILM best practice

Essential skills and experience:

• Substantial experience in charity legacy and estate administration, both contentious and non-contentious
• Significant knowledge of probate, trusts, tax, and property issues relevant to legacy casework
• Strong understanding of sector best practice in legacy administration and charity law
• Proven ability to manage a high-volume and varied caseload to deadlines
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Diplomacy, empathy, and resilience in handling contentious or sensitive cases

A legal, probate, or legacy administration qualification is advantageous but not required.

• Lead multi-annual and thematic reviews of progress against the Global Strategy to assess contribution to global change, identify achievements and challenges, lessons learned and recommendations.
• Support development and evolution of WaterAid’s Global Strategy, project managing key enablers of the strategy and drawing on expertise, experience and perspectives from across the organisation to drive progress.
• Lead on strategy development at Global, Member and Country Programme level, working within the wider strategy remit and supporting the wider federation’s objectives at all times.

To be successful, you will need:

• Strategic and critical thinking across complex and fast-moving environments: with the ability to consider how trends and shifts in the wider world and internally may affect strategic delivery

About the role

As our WaterAid UK Head of Legal & Compliance, you will lead the Legal, Data Protection and Fundraising Compliance team in providing advice, support and challenge to ensure WaterAid complies with all applicable regulations and legislation

and follows best practise. You will work closely with Trustees and Directors Team to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Provide sound legal support and specialist advice to all levels of the organisation for contracts between WaterAid UK and third parties (including commercial contracts, contracts for services including consultancy contracts, fundraising contracts, donor/grant agreements and agreements with implementing partners, as well as media Intellectual Property and IT agreements).
• Prepare, negotiate and advise on commercial and legal matters relating to complex matters.
• Support the organisation to review contracts, to recognise and respond to risk, especially in relation to restricted income funding contracts.
• Lead and manage the main point of contact for all legal queries across WaterAid, referring to external advice only when necessary.
• Champion WaterAid’s commitment to equity, inclusion and safeguarding.

Requirements

To be successful, you will need:

• A qualified solicitor (English law) with significate post-qualification experience.
• A combination of commercial and contract law and practice experience. Legal experience gained in–house and private practice environment, including in international organisations, the charity sector experience is preferred but not essential.
• Proactive approach to identifying legal risks and providing pragmatic and balanced solutions, manage expectations; maintain confidentiality at all times and display high ethical standards.
• Ability to build credibility quickly and communicate effectively across different cultures and business needs with good written communication skills, able to convey information clearly and accurately.
