As Volunteer Manager at Bristol Dockyards - Home of SS Great Britain - you will lead and grow our volunteer team of more than 140 volunteers, inspiring and supporting them to make a lasting impact. You will drive inclusive recruitment, deliver outstanding volunteer experiences, develop training and engagement opportunities, manage key volunteer systems and processes and work with colleagues to create meaningful volunteering roles.
As a champion for volunteering, you will build strong relationships, measure impact, promote best practice and help shape the future of volunteering across Bristol Dockyards.

Time commitment for the role will be up to two days per month, which will vary. This includes preparation for, and attendance at, the following annual meetings:
• Eight Committee meetings (mix of face-to-face and MS Teams)
• Four Board meetings (MS Teams)
• Up to four Strategic Planning and Board Development days (face-to-face, including one overnight stay)

In both roles, you’ll use your insight and experience to support, challenge and influence our decision making.
We’re particularly interested in hearing from people with skills or experience in cyber security, digital and data, property maintenance or asset management.

Sitting within the Operations team and reporting to the Head of Operations, the People Manager will lead NPP’s day-to-day HR function as a largely standalone HR professional. You will lead recruitment activity, support managers with performance, probation and employee relations processes, oversee annual leave and absence, payroll administration and pay awards, and ensure NPP continues to meet its employment, health and safety and data protection obligations. We are looking for an experienced People & Culture professional with a strong track record of developing and implementing HR policies and strategies, managing HR projects, and supporting organisational change, as well as experience leading recruitment processes from job design through to shortlisting and interviewing. You will be a clear thinker, confident decision-maker and excellent communicator who can build strong relationships across an organisation and with external partners. Experience of payroll, EDI, health and safety, procurement or working within a purpose-led organisation or public authority would be advantageous.

You will lead on child protection and safeguarding, working closely with our team of deputy and assistant DSLs and with external partners including Social Care, Health, Police, LADO and Prevent.
