Policy Manager

Key Responsibilities:
Policy development
· Develop and manage programmes of work on key strategic policy areas that position ARUK as a key influencer both nationally and internationally. This may include the commissioning of external evidence generation.
· Provide expertise on the relevant evidence, insight, and policy context to enable the development of new innovative policy ideas and solutions that deliver on our strategic priorities.
· Manage the development of substantial and credible policy outputs, including briefings, reports, submissions to government departments and their agencies, parliamentary committees, and other UK and international organisations as appropriate.
· Work with the Policy Communications team to ensure our policy work is disseminated to our key audiences via a range of appropriate channels to maximise our reach and impact.
· Develop and maintain mechanisms to keep abreast of the policy environment.
· Analyse, interpret and make judgements on complex project activities, delegating and managing the policy advisors to achieve set deliverables through their management of day-to-day activities. As Policy, Public Affairs and Campaigns works in a matrix structure this may include managing deliverables with policy advisors across the team.
· Support the join-up between projects and across the wider team to ensure shared knowledge and the opportunity to maximise influence and impact.
Stakeholder engagement and management
· Develop and manage stakeholder engagement of key policy contacts.
· Actively promote patient and public involvement in the development and delivery of projects.
· Work with Public Affairs colleagues to strengthen existing and emerging relationships with political and other parliamentary stakeholders to maximise the impact of our policy work.
· Attend external working groups and help develop partnerships beneficial to ARUK.
· Work with other charities to ensure ARUK is playing a leadership role in shaping government medical research policy.
Research and data analysis
· Oversee the analysis of necessary data and evidence, working with other ARUK colleagues, to produce accurate, timely and insightful policy materials, briefings and media stories.
Line Management Responsibilities
· Line manage and develop two Policy Advisors, providing coaching, mentoring and performance management as appropriate.
· Work with Senior Policy Manager and other Managers to support our team mission, wider team development and our commitment to excellence.
Knowledge, skills and experience needed:
· Experience in policy development and implementation within a healthcare setting.
· Experience involving clinicians and the public/patients in policy work.
· Proven success in developing, implementing, and influencing policy at a national level.
· Experience managing staff and supporting their development.
· Strong track record of building effective relationships with stakeholders, particularly in biomedical research or health settings.
· Skilled in producing and reviewing complex policy reports and consultation responses, and in working with government teams to embed ideas.
· Understanding of diverse channels for communicating policy work.

Additional Information:
Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

This fixed term role will provide cover with the current position-holder is on secondment with another team. Within the Individual Giving team, the Fundraising Manager will have responsibility for the planning and delivery of activities that recruit new supporters and generate income. The role
Reporting to the Director of Operations, you will lead a substantial portfolio of complex commissioned services and senior operational managers.
You will lead nine services with nine direct reports, spanning criminal justice and housing/homelessness provision. You will have clear accountability for ensuring services are safe, effective and well-led, with strong contractual performance, financial sustainability and positive outcomes for the people and communities we support.
You will provide operational grip and evidence-based assurance, strengthen safeguarding and management accountability, build effective relationships with commissioners and partners, and ensure risks and underperformance are identified, escalated and addressed early.

Specialist experience
For this role, you will need significant leadership experience across both Criminal Justice and Housing/Homelessness services, including housing or accommodation-based provision.
You will understand the complexity of working across criminal justice, housing, local government and other statutory systems and be experienced in building effective relationships with commissioners and partners while maintaining strong operational and contractual oversight.
This is a 12-month fixed-term appointment at an important stage in Cranstoun’s transformation, offering the opportunity to lead a significant portfolio, strengthen operational performance and help shape the future development of our operating model.

Role Summary
The Outreach Manager is responsible for driving the expansion of the Schools Consent Project’s reach, engagement, and impact across London and the South East. Purpose of the role

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The People and Culture (P&C) Director works in a highly matrixed environment with staff from several functions across the global organisation. The postholder manages the HR team in IRC UK and is accountable for effective HR service delivery, HR compliance and continuous improvement within the scope of the People & Culture department, localising the IRC’s global people strategy. This position plays a pivotal role in fostering a positive, inclusive and high-performing workplace culture that aligns with IRC’s values, through exceptional communication skills.
The role jointly reports into the UK Executive Director and Regional Director, P&C Europe – with additional reporting accountabilities to the UK Board’s People and Culture Committee. We have an exciting opportunity to join our Commercial Fundraising Team as the Corporate (New Business) Development Manager. As an integral member of Street League’s Fundraising team, you will play a key role in bringing in new corporate partners, working closely with the Head of Corporate Partnerships.
The Role:
You will be responsible for leading on the development and delivery of a targeted corporate new business strategy for Street League, the country’s leading sport for employment charity. You will research, cultivate, and secure a range of high value new business partnerships to support the on–going work and expansion of the charity.
Your passion, determination and talent will give young people living in some of the UK’s most disadvantaged communities a brighter future through secure employment. This role sits within the Commercial Fundraising Team that currently manages an impressive portfolio of corporate partnerships including many household brands and FTSE 100 companies supporting Street League with funding, volunteering, awareness, and pro–bono advice.

A well-respected international development charity is looking for a talented and strategic Senior Individual Giving Acquisition Officer on a 12 month maternity cover to lead the development and delivery of ambitious supporter acquisition campaigns. This is an exciting opportunity to shape how new supporters engage with the charity, driving growth through key campaigns including Christmas Appeals and Emergency Appeals.
Reporting to the Individual Giving Lead, you will lead the organisation's acquisition strategy with a particular focus on setting up a new face to face programme, and growing regular giving recruitment across multiple channels. Managing two in the team, you will combine strategic thinking, strong leadership and data-driven decision-making to deliver impactful campaigns that attract, engage and retain supporters.
To be successful as the Senior Individual Giving Acquisition Officer, you will need:
- Significant experience leading supporter acquisition programmes - particularly face to face and other marketing channels.
- Strong experience of digital fundraising and supporter acquisition strategies.
- Excellent analytical skills, with experience of budgeting, forecasting and using data to drive campaign performance.
- Demonstrable experience managing stakeholders, external suppliers and developing high-performing teams.
