I am delighted to be partnering with an organisation in the healthcare/science sector to recruit a Senior HR Advisor on an initial 6-month fixed-term contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional with a strong Employee Relations and change management background to join a small, collaborative HR team and make an immediate impact.
The Role
Reporting closely into the Senior HR Manager, you will provide a comprehensive HR advisory service across the organisation, supporting managers and employees across a broad range of operational HR and Employee Relations matters.
You will play a key role in supporting organisational change, advising on complex ER cases and working closely with managers and Trade Union representatives to ensure effective and fair outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include:
Providing expert advice and guidance to managers across the full employee lifecycle.
Managing and advising ER Casework - disciplinary, grievance, bullying and harassment, capability and attendance cases.
Supporting formal hearings, investigations and appeals, ensuring appropriate procedures are followed.
Advising managers on employment legislation, policies and best practice.
Supporting TUPE transfers and wider organisational change programmes.
Advising on organisational restructures, redundancy selection and redeployment processes.
Building constructive relationships with Trade Union representatives.
Supporting managers with sickness absence and performance management.
Contributing to the development and review of HR policies and procedures.
Supporting employment tribunal responses and preparation where required.
Delivering HR training and guidance to managers on areas including recruitment, performance management, absence and capability.
Working collaboratively with the wider HR team to deliver a high-quality HR service.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Senior HR Advisor who can hit the ground running and operate confidently with a high degree of autonomy.
You will ideally have:
CIPD Level 5 or above.
Significant experience working as an HR Advisor or equivalent.
Strong and demonstrable Employee Relations experience.
Experience managing or advising on disciplinary and grievance cases, including bullying and harassment.
Experience supporting TUPE transfers.
Experience of change management and organisational restructuring.
Strong knowledge of current UK employment legislation.
Experience working with Trade Unions and/or within a unionised environment.
The confidence to advise and coach managers on complex HR matters.
Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
The ability to work independently and prioritise a varied workload.
Experience within the NHS, healthcare or science sectors would be highly desirable, particularly experience working with NHS terms and conditions or Agenda for Change.
Experience with Oracle HRIS and Trak recruitment software would also be advantageous, although this is not essential.

You will join a small HR function of five, comprising the Chief People Officer, HR Manager, HR Advisor and HR Administrator, supporting an organisation of approximately 40 employees.
