Key Responsibilities:

You will be contracted to our Haig House hub with a minimum expectation of two days per week working in person at the hub and flexibility for working remotely/at home when not on site.

Key responsibilities

Content development and management

• Lead the production of key content pieces at ETP, including our annual report, regular updates to members and stakeholders, and innovative programme impact stories.
• Own and manage the communications content calendar, ensuring creativity and alignment with organisational goals.
• Own programmatic communications, collaborating with internal teams to produce communication toolkits on our range of programmes for members, incorporating feedback to meet members’ needs effectively.
• Collaborate with members and partners to ensure communications align with their needs and priorities – on both programmes and day-to-day communications.
• Work closely with ETP’s leadership team, country teams and experts to develop thought leadership pieces that contribute to sector-wide conversations and challenge the status quo constructively.
• Develop and issue ETP’s monthly member and stakeholder newsletter, ensuring there is ample content and that it is delivered on time.

Digital ownership

• Develop and implement ETP’s social media strategy, ensuring consistent, engaging, and impactful output.
• Oversee all social media activity, driving engagement and growing ETP’s digital presence across LinkedIn and X.
• Develop and share regular posts from the ETP CEO and sample posts for team members for key initiatives.
• Own website content, regularly updating the site with new information, from new joiners to news articles and programme updates.

Showcasing impact

• Create content that showcases ETP’s impact at both programmatic and sectoral levels, using innovative and striking approaches.
• Work with the Monitoring & Evaluation Lead to update the Global Impact Framework, ensuring our website data is up to date and effectively communicating impact across the ETP portfolio.

Design

• Use existing Adobe’s InDesign and Canva templates to produce a range of ETP branded assets including donor reports, event materials such as standees and backdrops etc.

Media relations

• Work with the Head of Communications & Membership to respond to media inquiries and support crisis communication efforts as needed.
• Research and create compelling media content, including proactive and reactive press releases.
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets to amplify ETP’s message.

Experience and skills required

Essential

• Exceptional writing and communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive content.
• Experience in developing creative and disruptive (yet constructive) content strategies.
• Strong social media strategy and management experience.
• Experience in media relations, including crafting press releases and managing media inquiries.
• Exceptional organisation skills, the ability to stick to deadlines and ability to manage multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
• Ability to brief external suppliers e.g. designers and videographers to ensure they deliver on brief, on time and to budget.
• Proven ability to work independently as a self-starter, demonstrating a dynamic, driven mindset with strong lateral thinking skills to solve problems creatively and effectively.

As an interim Supervising Solicitor in Public Law, you will supervise and carry out CPAG’s public law legal aid cases, to benefit families and children in poverty. You will play an active role in managing CPAG’s legal practice and conduct high-profile public law litigation. 

We are looking for someone who is passionate about using the law to advocate for the rights of, and directly improve the lives of, families in poverty. The ideal candidate will be a solicitor (E&W qualified) with experience of conducting public law litigation and legal aid (publicly funded) work. We’re building a brand-new team initial contact team which will play a central role in our new Information and Support Hub. This is your chance to be part of something new, influence how the service develops, and help set the standard from day one. As an Initial Contact Assessor, you will be the welcoming first point of contact for anyone reaching out for help, understanding, support or reassurance. You'll be sharing information from our website, referring people our other services (advice and support, peer support, family support, counselling) and signposting tools and resources or external support to ensure people with epilepsy get the right help at the right time.​

At Epilepsy Action we recognise the power of collaboration and teamwork, so our team members with hybrid contracts can expect to work a minimum of 40% at our office in Leeds. On average this is 2 days a week, normally on Mondays and Thursdays, for full-time employees. The expectation to collaborate face-to-face is driven in part by your role and the activities you need to do which may vary from time to time, so you will need to work in a flexible way to help us create a world without limits for people with epilepsy

What you will do

You will:​

• Hold sensitive, structured assessments to understand each person’s situation, needs, and level of urgency.
• Respond compassionately across phone, email, webchat, social channels and webforms.
• Give clear, practical information and guidance, helping people understand their options.
• Signpost or refer to the right internal or external services, ensuring no one falls through the cracks.
• Spot safeguarding concerns early and escalate swiftly and appropriately.
• Keep accurate, confidential records, contributing to meaningful insights and real impact.
• Work alongside our wider services team so every person receives joined‑up, high‑quality support.
• Play a key role in promoting our services, helping even more people get the help they need.​

Experience with long‑term conditions, disabilities or vulnerable groups is a bonus, but if you don’t yet know much about epilepsy, don’t worry. We’ll train you.

We are looking for people who will work with families to ensure increased access to support for the whole family as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role will require you to develop relationships with several professionals across organisations and other service providers to enhance the emotional, mental health and wellbeing offer with the aim to increase the family's personal resilience and empower them to manage their own mental health.

We are looking for dedicated professionals to join our team.

In order to be considered for this post you will have to demonstrate that you already have:

Experience

-Experience in family support: Direct experience working with families facing complex social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges

-Multi-agency collaboration: Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (e.g., health, education, social care) and coordinate holistic care plans.

-Community outreach: Experience engaging hard-to-reach families and providing accessible support in community settings.

Skills

-Able to develop effective therapeutic relationships.

-Ability to effectively amplify the voices of children and families, ensuring their needs are heard and addressed in multidisciplinary settings.

-Ability to conduct full and robust assessments where required (including service-based and risk-based assessments).

Qualification

-Experience in working with children, young people and families in a similar setting, delivering support and structured interventions for the whole family.

-Relevant professional qualification in such as Social Work, Diploma in Counselling or Psychotherapy, Psychology, Youth Work or Nursing and or significant relevant experience.

-The post holder will be required to hold a full driving licence and have use of a car for The Children's Society business.

-Managerial experience in working with children, young people and families in a similar setting, delivering support and structured interventions for the whole family.
