Purpose of the Job 
As the Individual Giving Manager, you will proactively help deliver our supporter acquisition and retention programmes through the development, implementation and management of multiple campaigns. The post holder will support with strategic development of Individual Giving and proactively adopt a test and learn approach to campaigns. The post holder will work alongside a second Individual Giving Manager and have the responsibility of an Officer. 

Duties & Responsibilities 

• Working closely with the Senior Individual Giving and Legacy Manager, develop, implement and manage a portfolio of acquisition and retention campaigns
• Maximise opportunities for cross-team campaigns
• Develop and implement continuous test and learn strategies
• Proactively contribute to the development of an effective Legacy programme
• Line management of an Individual Giving Officer

Working closely with the Senior Individual Giving and Legacy Manager, develop, implement and manage a portfolio of acquisition and retention campaigns

• Develop and manage a comprehensive programme of cold and warm campaigns at all stages from initial briefs to data selection and post-campaign analysis.
• Create seamless supporter journeys and consistency of messaging from the initial touchpoint through to longer-term giving
• Develop and manage a rolling programme of reactivation, cross-sell and upgrade activities
• Develop a portfolio of new fundraising offers and means of support and manage related processes.

 Maximise opportunities for cross-team campaigns 

• Work with mass participation on deepening relationships with community fundraising audiences
• Work with the major donor team, identifying and stewarding prospects for major and philanthropic giving. Support on the development of a mid-value programme
• Maximise supporter engagement opportunities through cross-working with internal teams including Corporate Partnerships and Volunteering.

Develop and implement continuous test and learn strategies

• Build and implement a framework for testing and rolling out supporter acquisition strategies
• Keep up to date on the latest trends and techniques in fundraising and apply learnings as appropriate on new and existing supporter acquisition initiatives
• Work with the Individual Giving Manager to maximise the impact of supporter welcome journeys
• Monitor Supporter attrition levels and implement measures to mitigate disengagement.

Proactively contribute to Felix’s Gifts in Wills programme

• Working with the Senior Individual Giving and Legacy Manager, develop and implement a test and learn programme of Gifts in Wills campaign to both warm and cold audiences
• Manage supporter relationships with free Will provider agencies and keep records up to date on the CRM

Line management of an Individual Giving Officer

• Provide management to an Individual Giving Officer, including daily support and development opportunities
• Support with management of Individual Giving Officers workload.

Person Specification

1. Previous experience of developing and managing multi-channel supporter acquisition and retention programmes across F2F, digital and direct mail.
2. Knowledge of latest trends and best practice of supporter stewardship

The Patrons Manager will be responsible for both Individual and Corporate Patron relationships from prospecting to renewal, managing recruitment, stewardship and overseeing excellence in customer service via the Patrons Box Office. This is a strategic role, with responsibility for managing and growing the Patrons Scheme, ensuring members make the most of their Patron membership to achieve maximum renewal and upgrade rates.

This role will be take ownership of the end-to-end planning, delivery and optimisation of supporter communications across multiple channels. Reporting to the Director of New Donor Engagement, the Direct Marketing Manager leads IFAW’s international new donor acquisition and global reactivation efforts. This role oversees the strategy and execution  of IFAW’s direct mail and face-to-face fundraising for four European markets:  Germany, France, UK and The Netherlands.  This role also designs and executes strategies to re-engage long lapsed supporters in all markets. Collaborate with the digital acquisition team to amplify results and leverage the strategies to attract new donors and reactivate lapsed donors. The manager collaborates with internal teams and external vendors to ensure campaigns are delivered effectively and in alignment with organizational goals.

From our work to reintroduce beavers to London for the first time in 400 years, to restoring river catchments with water voles, we focus on interventions that create real ecological change on the ground. The need

To grow Citizen Zoo sustainably, we need to grow our secure unrestricted income. Our monthly, direct debit membership currently brings in around £10k per year, and we’re aiming to grow this towards £60K per year within the first 12 months (or 1,000 equivalent members), through improved digital acquisition, better retention, and a strong on-the-ground recruitment presence across London.

The Team & The Role

We’re a not-for-profit social enterprise with a team who mostly work from home in London. You’ll work as part of this remote team from home, our shared desk spaces in central London, and out on the ground at events, partner venues and project sites across the city and beyond. You’ll work closely with delivery and communications colleagues to turn audiences (visitors, volunteers, event attendees, online supporters) into loyal members, and ensure members receive a positive, joined-up experience that retains them long term.

What you’ll do

You will own and deliver a data-led membership growth plan that increases acquisition, improves retention, and grows member value (including upgrades from £3 → £5/month over time). You’ll sharpen Citizen Zoo’s membership proposition so it clearly connects supporters to our impact, and you’ll turn that into campaigns and activity that consistently convert interest into monthly direct debits.

Digitally, you’ll create and optimise the online join journey (landing pages, forms and messaging) and run recruitment activity across email and social. You’ll work with agency partners to plan and launch Meta and/or Google campaigns, shape and iterate creative, manage a monthly marketing budget, and improve cost-per-join and conversion rates through ongoing performance monitoring.

For retention, you’ll build joined-up supporter journeys from welcome/onboarding through impact updates, renewal/retention thorough engagement and exclusive membership offerings, upgrade prompts and lapsed reactivation. You’ll use segmentation and insight to keep communications relevant, strengthen the member experience, and reduce churn.

On the ground, you’ll lead in-person recruitment across Greater London at events, fairs, community days and partner sites, setting up an effective stand, engaging the public, and signing people up to direct debit. You’ll keep improving the recruitment “kit” (scripts, FAQs, signage, QR codes and follow-up journeys) and coordinate volunteer/colleague support when needed.

You’ll also put in place a retention programme that reduces churn and increases lifetime value, so membership becomes a reliable, scalable source of unrestricted funding for Citizen Zoo’s rewilding work.

Working Hours

At Citizen Zoo we have standard working hours from 09:00–17:30, but team members can start earlier or later if agreed with your line manager. You’ll support the recruitment of new supporters (particularly through digital channels), develop data‑driven supporter journeys, and ensure our members and donors feel informed, valued and connected to Liberty’s impact. You will also lead on producing supporter materials, work closely with colleagues across the organisation, and act as the main point of contact for our supporters.

If you’re a collaborative fundraiser with excellent communication skills, confident using fundraising databases and systems, and passionate about human rights, we would love you to help shape the next chapter of Liberty’s individual giving programme.
