UWC International is seeking a Senior Philanthropy Lead (USA) to advance major gifts fundraising and strategic philanthropic engagement across the United States. This is a newly created role, reflecting our ambition to significantly grow our fundraising capability and expand our reach. Reporting to the Director of Development and partnering closely with the UK-based Executive Director, you will lead the cultivation of a high-value donor portfolio, secure transformational gifts, and build long-term, trust-based relationships with individuals, foundations, and partners who share our vision.
This is a pivotal senior role with the opportunity to elevate UWC International’s presence in the U.S. while developing your own expertise within a globally connected organisation. You will work alongside experienced international fundraisers, including senior leadership and board members, offering a unique platform to learn, grow, and influence strategy at the highest level. Bringing strategic insight and creativity, you will help grow income, strengthen donor engagement, and advance key priorities, including the UWC Global Endowment and ambitions set out in our 2030 Strategy. Collaboration will be central—working closely with schools, particularly UWC-USA in Montezuma, New Mexico, as well as national committees and dedicated supporters to unlock new opportunities for impact.
The role is UK-based with regular travel to the United States, though we are open to exploring a U.S. base for the right candidate. We are looking for a relationship-driven leader who combines sharp strategic thinking with a strong track record in major gifts fundraising. Experience or strong knowledge of the U.S. fundraising, advancement, or development landscape would be a distinct advantage. You will be confident in identifying and engaging new prospects, stewarding high-level donors, and translating ambition into measurable results, ultimately strengthening UWC’s visibility and influence in the U.S. and contributing to a global movement that transforms lives through education.

About the role:

The Department

The Role

This role provides senior leadership for the Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) and the Schools Wellbeing Partnership (SWP), two specialist membership groups hosted by the National Children’s Bureau that support schools, organisations and government to improve children and young people’s experiences of bullying, wellbeing and belonging. The Anti-Bullying Alliance (ABA) is a UK wide membership network of over 300 organisations working together to prevent bullying and create safer environments for children and young people. It leads national activity such as Anti-Bullying Week and Odd Socks Day, develops evidence informed resources and training, and influences policy and practice at a national level.
The Schools Wellbeing Partnership (SWP) supports schools to embed whole school approaches to wellbeing and belonging through networks, tools and peer learning with school leaders and partners across England.
During the maternity cover period, the postholder will ensure the smooth delivery of core programmes and campaigns, including leadership of Anti-Bullying Week and Odd Socks Day planning, communications and partnerships. They will maintain relationships with members, funders, government, parliamentarians and high profile supporters, sustain policy engagement and external visibility, and support income generation activity already in progress. The role also includes management of the team, oversight of communications activity, and maintaining momentum across existing projects and networks while providing stable and supportive team leadership.

Main Purpose Of The Job:
The Events and Community Fundraiserwill take responsibility for the planning and delivery of Homeless Oxfordshire’s events and third party events, and provide exceptional care to our community fundraisers. Working closely with the Community Fundraising Manager and Partnerships Fundraising Manager and the wider Fundraising and Communiations team, they will plan and run a calendar of events to engage our community and corporate supporters, as well as the general public, with the aim of raising money for and awareness Homeless Oxfordshire.

Main Areas Of Responsibility:
Events Planning And Delivery
· Oversee planning and delivery of our community and corporate events including the Golf Day, Race Across Oxfordshire, the Business Breakfast, HOxStock, and the Thank You event.
· Liaise with venues, suppliers and contractors to ensure all events are well planned and professionally run.
· Manage all event communications, from invitations, registration, to event day and follow up, ensuring an excellent support journey throughout.
· Support the Community Fundraising Manger on third party events, including Homeless Oxfordshire’s participation in the Oxford Half Marathon, the London Marathon, London to Brighton bike ride and other challenge events.
· Manage and plan event day activity at third party challenge events.
· Support community groups who are running their own “in aid of” events for Homeless Oxfordshire, providing materials and promotion and attending events where appropriate.
· Ensure timely communications and stewardship of all challenge event participants.
Community Fundraising
· Support the Community Fundraising Manager to research and identify community fundraising prospects, and deliver communications and approaches to engage schools, colleges, faith groups and other community organisations.
· Give talks to community groups (schools, faith groups, local organisations etc.) to encourage their support for the charity and represent Homeless Oxfordshire at community fundraising events.
· Support the Partnership Fundraising Manager to steward employee fundraising activities e.g. bake sales, Giftmas collections etc.
· Work with HR and the Community Fundraising Manager to recruit and manage Community Fundraising Volunteers who can give talks to community groups.
· Work with the Community Fundraising Manager and Marketing and Communications Manager to develop presentations and resources to enable volunteers to represent Homeless Oxfordshire at community events.
· Oversee the administration linked to community fundraisers, including updating the database with communications and monitoring and managing fundraising materials.
· Support community fundraisers to use and register on third party platforms e.g. JustGiving, Enthuse, providing encouragement and tips for securing sponsorship and funding.
· Ensure timely and professional communication and interaction with community supporters, and prompt thanking of fundraisers and donors.
· Take responsibility for responding to/redirecting all emails to the shared fundraising inbox.
· Undertake other relevant duties, supporting the Fundraising and Communications team as required.

What you will be doing:
This exciting role involves managing the day-to-day delivery of the FINCH project, including developing and maintaining strong relationships with participating farmers and external consultants, and ensuring all work is delivered to agreed timescales, budgets and reporting standards.
You will play a key role in facilitating learning and deepening understanding of emerging nature markets, engaging a wide range of audiences including farmers, landowners, colleagues and partners. A central aspect of the role is building and maintaining positive relationships with farmers and landowners to support wildlife friendly farming, habitat creation and maintenance and to encourage land use change where appropriate. You will also provide land management and farm advice, taking practical action across a range of settings to benefit different habitats including riparian corridors and river systems.
Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will contribute to the ongoing development of Land Management Advisory Service, help identify and engage new clients and strengthen support for nature-friendly farming practices. You will also support the development and implementation of systems for evaluation and feedback from landowners and farm managers.
In addition, the role involves delivering practical on-farm measures through third-party funding, supporting farm businesses to access government and environmental assurance schemes and undertaking farm surveys and whole-farm planning focused on the delivery of environmental goods.

About the role

You will support the Waking Night team of Recovery Support Workers in providing a continuous and safe delivery of support, always ensuring high quality and person-centred care.
