Job description

About KEEN

KEEN London delivers inclusive sport, physical activity and creative sessions for children and young people with SEND across East, South and North London. Every week, our athletes are supported one-to-one by a community of dedicated volunteer coaches, in sessions where every child can play, take part and thrive in their own way. The difference is real. Last year we delivered around 4,000 hours of one-to-one support, and 90% of athletes with tracked goals are showing progress, from emerging steps through to goals achieved. We currently support 85 athletes, with room to grow.

We're a small, close-knit team with a big reach. Everyone here plays a real part in the difference we make.

About the role

As Services Coordinator, you'll be at the heart of our work, leading Saturday sessions for children aged 5 to 11 at our East London site in Hackney. You'll be the person families trust, coaches look to for guidance and athletes are excited to see each week. This role exists so that every child who comes through our doors has a safe, joyful and well-supported experience.

Main responsibilities

  • Lead safe, inclusive and fun Saturday sessions, planning and adapting activities around each athlete's needs
  • Build trusted relationships with athletes, parents and carers
  • Brief, support and guide volunteer coaches, matching them with athletes each week
  • Act as Site Safeguarding Lead, working with schools and other agencies where needed
  • Use attendance and impact data to plan sessions and show the difference we make

About you

  • Experience working directly with disabled children and children with additional needs, including autistic children and children with learning disabilities
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Confidence managing group dynamics in a sporting, play or similar setting
  • Calm, organised and a great communicator with families
  • Available every Saturday in term time, 9:30am to 2:30pm

Why join KEEN?

  • Four-day week with hybrid working
  • The chance to see the impact of your work every single week
  • A supportive team and a warm, committed volunteer community
  • Training and development, including safeguarding and first aid training
  • Pension, holiday entitlement, time off in lieu and  other benefits

Application process

To apply, please send your CV  by 30th October. Interviews will take place on a rolling basis.  If you need any adjustments during the recruitment process, just let us know.

This post requires an enhanced DBS check with a children's barred list check.

Please refer to the attached job description for full details of the role and person specification.
