About the Role

As a Support Caseworker, you will provide timely, compassionate and person-centred support to individuals and families referred to our services. Through structured holistic conversations, you will identify individual needs, develop personalised support plans, and help people access information, practical guidance, peer support and appropriate internal and external services.

​

Working closely with colleagues, healthcare professionals and partner organisations, you will support individuals to navigate key stages of their journey, ensuring they feel informed, empowered and connected to the right support at the right time. You will contribute to the consistent delivery of high quality support pathways while maintaining accurate records and working in line with safeguarding, consent and data protection requirements.

This role does not provide clinical advice but works collaboratively with healthcare professionals and other partners to ensure people receive the support they need.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Manage referrals, make timely first contact, obtain consent, agree support plans, and maintain accurate CRM records.
• Deliver holistic needs assessments, identify priorities, and develop and review personalised support plans.
• Provide compassionate, person centred support, helping individuals navigate key stages while ensuring timely progression through agreed pathways.
• Signpost and refer individuals to appropriate services, encourage engagement with support options, and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and partner organisations.
• Maintain high quality records, capture outcomes, monitor risks, and contribute to service evaluation and continuous improvement.
• Identify and escalate safeguarding concerns, comply with GDPR and organisational policies, and maintain professional boundaries.
• Build effective relationships with colleagues and external partners, represent the organisation professionally, and contribute to the ongoing development of high-quality services.

The Role
We are looking for a Prospect Researcher to play a pivotal role in developing our fundraising portfolio and in driving income growth across high-value fundraising. This role will be central to building robust pipelines and unlocking new opportunities across philanthropy and partnerships.
 
What you'll do

•  Undertaking detailed desk-based research into individuals and corporate foundations to identify prospective major donors and philanthropic partners for NDCS and DCW.
• Analysing financial capacity, philanthropic interests, networks, affiliations and giving history to assess suitability and potential
• Developing and maintain accurate prospect profiles, wealth indicators and ratings to support prioritisation and portfolio management
• Producing high-quality written briefings, profiles and talking points for meetings, events and solicitations
• Support the strategy by providing insight into supporter motivations, interests and links to NDCS’s or DCW’s work
• Tracking news, trends and updates relating to high-value prospects and current donors.

What you'll need

•  Proactive with proven experience in undertaking desk-based research to identify prospective individual and organisational donors. 
• Strong analysis skills to assess donor potential and to ensure partners are aligned with NDCS values. 
• Proven written communication skills and in developing written briefings for solicitations.
• Demonstrable ability to develop and maintain accurate and unbiased prospect profiles to enable prioritisation and decision making 
• Proven experience in maintaining accurate records in line with current regulations on a CRM system to ensure data quality and consistency.

About Chapter One

Chapter One is a small but growing charity, working to ensure that every child has 1:1 reading support at the time they need it most. 

Our Early Literacy Intervention programme is based on a programme that works successfully in the USA and it provides daily, 1:1, 7 minute phonics sessions for children who are behind in phonics. Using a bespoke technology tool, a trained Early Reading Interventionist works individually with target children. 

We also have our unique Online Reading Volunteer programme which currently supports about 3,500 children a year. It pairs struggling five to seven-year old (KS1) readers with reading support volunteers who come from over 150 local and national businesses. The volunteer pledge is very focused: readers commit 30 minutes a week to read with a child using a bespoke digital platform for an entire academic year. The results are transformative, boosting children's reading confidence and ability.

Hours

• Galleywall Primary School: Monday to Friday, 10:00am–12:00pm (2 hours per day) – 10 hours per week
• Wellington Primary School: 3 days per week, 1:00pm–3:00pm (2 hours per day) – 6 hours per week (working days to be agreed)
• Please note travel between the schools will have to take place between 12pm and 1pm.

Total hours: 16 hours per week

This role will involve delivering a programme of 1:1 focussed sessions for selected Reception and Year 1 children.  The ELI will be trained to use Chapter One’s specialised online tool designed to support learners who are at risk of falling behind with their phonics.

We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic individual who enjoys working with young children and who wants to make their mark in a fast-growing charity. We can offer training, a small friendly team and a chance to improve the lives of children facing disadvantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct an initial baseline assessment of selected target children in Reception and Year 1 to determine where further support is needed.

• Use Chapter One’s online tool to deliver differentiated, daily, 1:1, targeted, 7 minute phonics sessions to pupils using a systematic, synthetic approach.

• Use a variety of additional activities to reinforce phonics skills.

• Support children to use their secure phonics knowledge to read decodable books.

• Develop pupils’ phonics fluency and confidence in preparation for the Year 1 Phonics Screening Check, where applicable. 

• Document each session with a child, including the skills practised or mastered and a goal for the next session.

• Maintain and update daily pupil progress trackers, identifying phonics skills secured and areas requiring consolidation to inform future teaching. 

• Challenge pupils to reach each new goal and celebrate pupil success.

• Work closely and on an ongoing basis with classroom teachers, reading support staff and the school team to understand progression of the schools phonics teaching.

• Work closely with classroom teachers to establish tailored plans for each child.

• Provide school leaders with data and information on pupil progress.

• Gather feedback from school on progress of the programme and any implementation challenges, aiming to help Chapter One to continuously improve programme delivery.

• Collaborate with colleagues at Chapter One to further improve the ELI model, the online tool and programme delivery.

Qualifications Criteria

• Maths and English GCSE at Grade 5 or above.

• Right to work in the UK.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and skilled Project Development Co‑ordinator in the London area. You will deliver NEA’s work programme across the region, leading stakeholder engagement, community outreach and direct support to low‑income and vulnerable households. Middle School Science Teacher - Grade 7 (one-year)

Reports to: the Middle School Principal

This role is a one-year fixed-term position to cover a leave of absence.

Overall purpose

The middle school science teacher is responsible for delivering a science curriculum to middle school students in an engaging, stimulating and effective manner, using varied instructional strategies. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to promote inquiry-based learning, in which students work both collaboratively and independently to create new knowledge, share materials, problem-solve and discuss mathematical concepts through hands-on learning activities such as labs, fieldwork and whole class discussions.

Summary of duties

• Teach four sections of science and serve as a Grade 7 advisor, (each section of science meets for 80 min, four times per every eight days and advisory meets every day for 30 min)

• Prepare, coordinate and plan the curriculum with other members of the science department, and liaise with other departments where appropriate

• Exhibit knowledge of current trends, pedagogy, research, and topics of importance in science education by applying it in the classroom and sharing it with teachers on a departmental and school-wide basis

• Monitor and evaluate students’ progress, prepare for parent conferences, grade assessments and complete report cards, etc

• Take responsibility for the safety and well-being of all students, demonstrating strong knowledge of laboratory safety and explicitly teaching safe practices while delivering an engaging and challenging syllabus

About the Role

As an Independent Victim Advocate you will be ensuring the provision of individual structured, tailored support plans, based on a holistic assessment of impact and risk, within the framework of VS's Service Model. You may make initial contact with victims of crime, explaining our services and assessing the impact of crime, or receive referrals from colleagues, in order to provide on-going support and case management.

You will develop, deliver and monitor safety and support plans for those affected by crime, who accept ongoing support. Support will include providing resources, interventions, and information to all service users. In order to:

• support those affected by crime in understanding and asserting their rights and entitlements
• understand their journey through the criminal justice and legal systems including the Victims Code of Practice
• facilitate access to additional services
• establish healthy coping mechanisms
• provide practical support and information

You will directly support service users, who may be affected by all types of crime. You may work within a specialist area, for example concentrating on one crime type, or a certain demographic of victims.

You may, in some services, be responsible for elements of volunteer management. This may include the development and case management oversight of a cohort of volunteers who will contribute to the service, in line with VS's policies and volunteering ethos and approach.

Reporting to the Head of Fundraising, you will lead prospect research and outreach across NHS Barking, Havering & Redbridge procurement suppliers, local community businesses and key corporate partnerships sectors for hospital fundraising. You will develop compelling partnership propositions and engagement materials, identify key stakeholders within target organisations, and progress prospects through to confirmed meetings. 

What You’ll Do 

1. Conduct thorough prospect research across NHS BHRUT procurement suppliers, local businesses and priority sectors to build a strong and accurate pipeline of prospective corporate and community partners in our new CRM, Beacon.

2. Create a corporate partnership fundraising deck for prospects that brings to life all the ways businesses can get involved, from social value opportunities, do your own fundraising and challenge events, sponsorship opportunities, to volunteering and in-kind support. This will need to be compelling and can be tailored for NHS procurement suppliers and aligned to the charity’s strategic goals.

3. Develop a corporate volunteering opportunities deck, ready to share with prospective and current partners. 

4. Identify key stakeholders within target prospect organisations and make proactive outreach to arrange prospect meetings between corporate contacts and the Head of Fundraising, to support the charity’s income growth ambitions.
