ISEAL is seeking an experienced charity finance professional to play an important role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and systems.

As part of our small finance team, the Finance Coordinator will help provide a strong financial administration service to the organisation. The postholder will work closely with ISEAL’s membership team, as well as across different areas of ISEAL’s finances. Having recently introduced a new finance system (Sage INTACCT) and generally overhauling our major systems, we see this role as being part of our journey to learn how to further exploit this set-up.

The role has some core responsibilities focused on ISEAL’s sales ledger, timesheets and payroll. The Sales ledger covers both income from our members, and other customers. The postholder will hold responsibility for engaging colleagues across the organisation with the relevant finance processes.  All our core-finance roles also cover for each other as needed.

As an ideal candidate, you will bring a good understanding of accounting and finance, ideally having passed some professional exams. You will have experience of finance systems as well as excellent IT and excel skills. You will bring strong technological competencies and an interest to develop financial systems and processes. An ability to manage your own work and comfortably communicating with colleagues and customers alike comes naturally to you.

Key responsibilities

Financial accounting

• Maintain and manage sales ledger
• Ensure that money received is properly captured in ISEAL’s accounting system
• Monitor outstanding balances, and cooperate with Membership Team to ensure proper escalation
• Management and reporting of bad debtors
• Support across the financial operations so that the team can cover all areas, depending on fluctuating need
• Support with monthly and quarterly management accounting processes, such as balance sheet reconciliation, fixed asset accounting and VAT

Timesheets

• Manage timesheet process and support ISEAL staff in understanding its purpose and fulfilling its requirements
• Ensure clear communication of the schedule for timesheet completion, following up where submission is late
• Support Manager, Financial Accounting with reconciliations and accuracy checks

Payroll

• Act as back up for timely processing of payroll payments
• Support with proper accounting and reconciliations for ISEAL’s payroll

Essential experience, knowledge and attributes

• Minimum part qualified accountant or qualified by experience with strong financial management experience
• Strong experience supporting financial day to day operations and financial transaction processes.
• Some experience of management accounting and month/quarter-end processes incl. journal entry, reconciliations and similar
• Exposure to and familiarity with credit control, cash allocation and aged debt management.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and how these are reflected in accounting software
• Familiar with principles of double entry accounting
• Competent user of excel and accounting software
• Affinity with and interest in developing systems and processes for greater efficiency
• Able to communicate effectively and professionally both internally and externally
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Other relevant information

Term: This is an initial fixed term contract for 12 months

Salary: £35-38,000 per annum pro rata, depending on experience

Working hours: 22.5 hours/week, over at least 3 days, based on a timetable to be agreed. All ISEAL’s finance team currently work on Wednesdays.

Location: The role is mostly done remotely, but London is the formal base and office presence required 3 days per month during probation, 2 days per month thereafter. Applicants will need to provide evidence that they are entitled to work in the UK. 

International travel: The post holder may be required to undertake occasional international travel

Annual leave: 25 days pro rata

Your role 

This role provides administrative and coordination support across War Child's Philanthropy, Trusts & Institutional Funding and Principal Giving fundraising teams. Working with colleagues in these functions, you will help maximise our capacity to maintain and grow relationships with high value and major donors, trusts, foundations and institutional funders. 

You will provide high-quality administrative support across a range of projects, campaigns and fundraising activities, enabling managers to effectively steward their portfolios and build strong donor relationships. As part of an ambitious and collaborative team, you'll play an important role in helping secure vital funding to support children affected by war. 

Your responsibilities 

Administration: 

• Support the team on general administrative tasks including (but not limited to) raising purchase orders, donation processing, income reconciliation, event liaison, venue & catering support, arranging travel and booking internal and external meetings.

• Take minutes in key meetings and share action points with wider teams. 

• Monitor the team info email inbox and direct queries to the relevant team. 

• Ensure that all of team documents, reports and event documents are correctly filed on the War Child internal system for easy reference for the Fundraising Team. 

Research: 

• Lead on the research of new prospects to prepare fundraisers ahead of donor meetings or donors attending events (including creating event biographies). 

• Conduct due diligence and ethical screening of prospective donors, partners and funding opportunities in line with War Child’s due diligence policy, identifying and assessing reputational, ethical and legal risks. 

• Provide administrative and coordination support to the Philanthropy team to help deliver donor stewardship, cultivation and solicitation activities that contribute to achieving income targets, including supporting lapsed donor re-engagement. 

• Lead on the research of existing donors, foundation’s trustees and institutional donor staff to understand their networks and to maximise their potential across the Fundraising teams. 

Communications and Events: 

• Support the team to ensure communications with donors and partners are categorised, updated and stored accurately on War Child’s database, Salesforce and use Dot Digital/Salesforce to send automated comms.

• Support on the creation of donor communications which includes (but is not limited to) creating event programmes, event proposal documents, event invitations and donor impact reports/proposals. 

• Support the Philanthropy team in particular on event planning and event delivery including supporting the admin tasks for War Child’s flagship gala, The Wassail, held in December. 

• Represent War Child with commitment and enthusiasm to build new relationships and contacts for War Child, supporting colleagues to ensure that new prospects are followed up and their interest capitalised on. 

• Develop strong relationships and maintain excellent communication channels with other teams and departments across War Child. 

• Actively participate in regular department and team meetings, contributing to strategy discussion and decisions that will be beneficial to the development of fundraising activities. 

• Contribute to creating a culture committed to the safeguarding of children and adults and compliant to WCUK’s Integrity & Safeguarding Policies.

Business Development Manager

About the role

The role of Programme and Recruitment Coordinator sits at the heart of delivering our flagship Associate Programme. You’ll accompany individuals through the journey from candidates to Associates, support their onboarding and matching to placements, hold the logistics for their regular afternoon training sessions and project manage key milestones in the Programme such as the residential.

This role will work with our London and international core team and current Associates. You will be managed by the Co-Lead of On Purpose London, Head of Programme & Organisational Development, and work closely with the Programme Delivery Manager and Co-Lead, Head of Business Development & Community on specific workstreams.

In this role, you will:

Ensure Associates have an excellent experience throughout their time at On Purpose

• Support the delivery of Associate training sessions, which requires being physically present every Friday afternoon in central London to coordinate the session logistics, acting as venue and trainer liaison.
• Lead on communications with Associates, including acting as the first point of contact on many areas of the Programme
• Lead on the logistics of a range of in-person and online events, including induction, residentials and end of year celebration events
• Support the Programme Delivery Manager in other aspects of Programme delivery, including maintaining a library of learning resources, weekly communication with Associates and other ad hoc tasks.

Manage the logistics of the recruitment selection process for the Associate Programme

• Manage queries from candidates during the recruitment process
• Project manage review of Associate programme applications using AI and human application scoring systems, and participate in application scoring alongside the wider team
• Coordinate interview slots and lead on communications with interviewees
• Coordinate interviewers, leading on recruiting and communicating with interviewers, and coordinate the logistics of interviewing days
• Coordinate process for giving feedback to unsuccessful candidates and issuing offers

Manage onboarding process for the Associate Programme

• Lead on end to end communications with new Associates from issuing offer letters through onboarding checks and providing timely information about starting the programme
• Provide administrative support for our placement matching process, coordinating with the Head of Business Development and Marketing & Communications Manager to prepare materials, and run logistics of the process.
• Manage internal processes for onboarding new Associates including set up on tech systems, gathering information to add people to payroll and confirming right to work, and liaising with placement organisation’s HR teams as needed.

We're hiring a Complex Needs Recovery Worker to join our team based in Penrose Focus. In this role, you will support residents who have a history of forensic mental health issues with co morbidity, often alongside co-occurring substance misuse disorders. The residents range from high risk to low support and our aim is to provide tailored support to help them reintegrate into the community. 

As a  Complex Needs Recovery Worker, you will identify individual resident needs, and provide person centred, tailored support to residents to help them overcome their personal challenges and achieve their goals. • Create tailored support plans through one to one sessions, group sessions, and multi agency meetings
• Provide person-centered support to residents, helping them rebuild their lives and transition back into the community.
• Support residents to build skills and confidence and signpost residents to external organisations and services that can aid their recovery, such as drug rehabilitation programs, psychological therapy and social services.
• Monitor residents’ wellbeing, carrying out regular welfare checks, and responding to any incidents or emergencies.
• Build good relationships with residents, offering emotional support and fostering a safe, non judgmental environment.
• Confidently report issues to the police when necessary and work closely with probation officers to ensure residents meet their legal and rehabilitation requirements.

About You

We're looking for a genuine passion for supporting people who may have complex needs which includes forensic mental health. You will be a self motivated individual who is able to be proactive in managing your own time during busy or quiet periods to ensure productivity. Experience in mental health or support work is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided. You will be able to work collaboratively as part of a team, and will have alignment with our SIG values. You will be keen to support our residents to achieve their individual goals and support them to be the best versions of themselves. 

• Previous professional or lived experience supporting people with forensic mental health and complex needs, ideally in mental health and residential setting
• Experience working with people with complex backgrounds, including ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, or challenging behaviour and an understanding of housing and social needs

Scope of the role

You will manage and successfully deliver key events including the London Marathon, Great North Run and London Landmarks Half Marathon, as well as third party and DIY challenge fundraising. You’ll lead on supporter recruitment and stewardship to meet or exceed agreed targets, while keeping budgets, income and performance on track, as well as maintaining accurate supporter data. You’ll also support on the delivery of Community and Virtual challenge fundraising, including our flagship challenge, Walk in Her Name. 

1)Support planning and delivery of the Events programme

i) Support recruitment, engagement and retention across our event portfolio including London Marathon, Great North Run, London Landmarks as well as third party and DIY challenges to meet or exceed agreed income and engagement targets, while keeping budgets, income and performance on track. 

ii) Responsible for the OCA London Marathon team from sign-up to post-race including delivery of training and fundraising support, on the day cheer point and post-race celebration activities.

iv) Support the team Manager to plan and deliver virtual challenges, including our flagship event, Walk in Her Name and Walk 100, working collaboratively across the team to maximise supporter experience and campaign performance. 

2) Manage delivery of Community Fundraising

3) Provide excellent supporter care across the events and community portfolio

Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to serve as Coordinator, leading the mission of Street Pastors in Kingston. The ideal candidate for this role will be a person of integrity who is able to demonstrate experience and potential in leadership of Christian outreach and mission. They should have experience leading and managing volunteers in a relevant context. They should possess effective organisational and communication skills and demonstrate a passion for building and sustaining partnerships around community outreach.

Context

Kingston Street Pastors is a churches initiative which has been operating since 2006 deploying Christian volunteers in the town centre in the night time to Care, Listen and Help. We enjoy excellent relationships with key stakeholders in Kingston’s night time economy including our local council, police and businesses. Within the wider Street Pastors movement we have made significant contributions over the years to develop policy and practice and have worked closely with neighbouring Street Pastors initiatives and with the Ascension Trust. For governance purposes Kingston Street Pastors operates as an affiliated project of Oxygen, a Kingston based youth work charity.

Our key strategic priorities are to maintain and build on the positive relationships we have with our local council, the police and businesses in the night time economy, taking advantage of opportunities for collaboration, accessing funding and other forms of support. We are perennially focused on the recruitment of new volunteers to serve as Street Pastors and Prayer Pastors to sustain and grow our capacity to deploy teams to the streets.

About the Role

This role has a Genuine Occupational Requirement for the post holder to be a practicing Christian (as outlined by 2010 Equality Act, Section 9)

Our new Coordinator will work closely with the Street Pastors Deputy Coordinator, leading the regular operations of Kingston Street Pastors and the deployment of teams while also overseeing the strategic development of the initiative in response to emerging needs and opportunities. 

Applicants should have people skills and demonstrate an ability to solve problems using a range of creative solutions including working with volunteers or using technology in new ways. The ideal candidate will have an ability to work flexibly and manage their time and resource effectively amidst competing priorities. 

A strong applicant will also be able to demonstrate the following: 

• A good understanding of the work and ethos of Street Pastors and how this resonates with your approach to Christian mission.

• A passion for the role the Church plays in our local community and an ecumenical ethos which is appreciative of a diversity of Christian traditions.

• The ability to partner with key stakeholders in the community to increase the resources, reach and depth of charitable projects. 

• A high level of proficiency in project management with competent administrative and IT skills.

• A good understanding of the night time economy, its users and key stakeholders.

• Experience and skills in charity/ church project leadership with specific reference to the recruitment, development and management of volunteers.

• An understanding of monitoring and reporting on the impact of charitable work.

Relevant experience in fields such as youth work, homelessness support, drug and alcohol services and promotion of community safety are also highly desirable.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references including at least one reference from a church minister.
