About the role

This is a new senior role at WSC, with responsibility for developing and delivering our fundraising strategy and building the systems, relationships and income streams needed to support the organisation's next stage of growth.

The Fundraising Manager will take day-to-day ownership of WSC's fundraising function and pipeline, leading opportunities from prospect research and assessment through application, award, grant management and renewal. They will combine hands-on fundraising delivery with strategic leadership, developing income from trusts and foundations, statutory funders, corporate partners, major donors and other appropriate sources.

You will work closely with the Executive Director who retains strategic oversight and final approval of fundraising applications and commitments, while taking day-to-day ownership of fundraising activity and the pipeline.  

This is an opportunity for an experienced fundraiser to shape WSC’s fundraising at an exciting stage of organisational development, whilst contributing directly to our work to challenge labour exploitation and promote decent work.

The postholder will be responsible for delivering an agreed annual fundraising target and for building a balanced pipeline of prospective trusts, foundations, statutory funders, corporate partners and individual supporters. In the first 12–18 months, a key priority will be to strengthen WSC's fundraising infrastructure, increase the diversity and predictability of income, and develop a sustainable pipeline aligned with our strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising strategy and leadership

● Develop, implement and review of a Fundraising Strategy and delivery plan for WSC to achieve required income targets across fundraising disciplines together with the Executive Director aligned with our overall Strategic Plan.

● Set and monitor fundraising objectives, income targets and KPIs reporting quarterly to the Executive Director and Board on progress, opportunities and risks.

● Develop and maintain WSC’s prospect map identifying priority funders and prospects and setting clear cultivation strategies and next steps for each.

● Develop WSC’s major donor pipeline including compelling cases for support, and cultivation plan for priority prospects.

● Advise the Executive Director and Board on fundraising opportunities, income diversification, funding risk and the implications of changes in the funding environment.

● Lead on management and renewal of WSC’s existing grants portfolio ensuring income is sustained and relationships are developed strategically.

● Assess prospective funding opportunities and make recommendations for the Executive Director on whether to pursue them, considering strategic fit, likelihood of success, resource requirements and financial viability.

● Develop, maintain and improve WSC's fundraising systems, processes and tools, ensuring that information is accurate, accessible and supports good decision-making.

● Maintain a strong understanding of WSC’s current programmes, impact and future strategic priorities and translate these into compelling fundraising opportunities and cases for support.

Pipeline and income generation

● Research, identify, cultivate and secure funding from trusts, foundations, statutory sources, corporate partners, major donors and individual donors and other appropriate income sources.

● Own and manage WSC's fundraising pipeline, ensuring opportunities are appropriately researched, assessed, prioritised, progressed and recorded from prospect through to renewal.

● Lead the end-to-end development of funding applications, coordinating input from programme, finance, communications and other colleagues and ensuring applications are compelling, accurate and submitted on time.

● Maintain accurate pipeline data and income forecasts, using these to identify funding gaps, opportunities and risks and to inform organisational planning.

● Monitor the wider fundraising environment and identify emerging opportunities, risks and trends relevant to WSC.

• · Ensure appropriate due diligence is undertaken and agreements are in place before accepting significant gifts or grants, in line with WSC's policies and procedures.
• · Ensure donations and grants are processed, recorded and acknowledged promptly and accurately, working with the Finance Officer and other colleagues as appropriate.

Grant Management and Renewal

· Maintain an overview of WSC's active grants, including reporting requirements, key commitments, deadlines and renewal opportunities.

· Ensure funder reporting deadlines and grant commitments are identified and managed proactively working with relevant colleagues across WSC.

· Lead the preparation and submission of narrative funder reports, working with the programme and finance colleagues to evidence progress, outcomes and impact.

· Work closely with the Finance Officer to ensure financial reports and expenditure information provided to funders are accurate, timely and consistent with grant agreements.

· Develop renewal plans 4-6 months ahead of grant end dates or earlier where required by the funder and lead the renewal process in collaboration with the Executive Director and Finance Officer.

· Maintain and develop funder relationships throughout the grant cycle using reporting, meetings and other opportunities to demonstrate impact and strengthen relationships.

Fundraising Systems, Finance and Reporting

● Maintain accurate and up-to-date fundraising records, identifying an appropriate CRM and ensuring key information, relationships, deadlines and actions are documented.

● Work closely with the Finance Officer to develop realistic application budgets, monitor grant income and expenditure and ensure financial information provided to funders is accurate and consistent.

● Ensure appropriate fundraising records and documentation are maintained including applications, grant agreements, reports, correspondence and due diligence.

Line management, collaboration and worker-led fundraising

· Recruit, line manage and support future fundraising staff as the charity grows, providing clear direction, regular supervision, constructive feedback and opportunities for professional development.

· Develop effective systems and processes that enable the fundraising team to work consistently, collaboratively and efficiently as the function grows.

· Manage freelancers, agencies or consultants as required.

· Participate in WSC's Senior Management Team, contributing to organisational planning, strategic decision-making and alignment across WSC's work

· Collaborate with policy, casework, operations, communications and other colleagues to align fundraising with organisational priorities.

· Champion WSC's worker-driven governance model and ensure that workers have meaningful influence over fundraising activity and how their experiences are represented.

· Co-produce fundraising outputs with workers, prioritising their voices, interests, dignity and agency.

· Actively contribute to a values-led, inclusive and collaborative working culture.

· Ensure fundraising knowledge, relationships, decisions and organisational learning are appropriately documented and shared, supporting organisational resilience and continuity.

Communications and narrative

● Work closely with the Communications and Narratives Lead to develop compelling, audience-specific cases for support, donor communications and fundraising materials.

● Support the development and use of evidence, impact data and worker-centred narratives in fundraising.

● Ensure that fundraising and communications involving workers are ethical, accessible and based on meaningful consent, agency and participation.

Governance, compliance & organisational reporting

● Ensure fundraising activity complies with relevant charity law and regulation, fundraising standards, data protection requirements and WSC policies.

● Ensure appropriate due diligence, gift acceptance and risk assessment processes are followed for significant gifts, grants and partnerships.

● Provide regular fundraising reports and analysis to the Executive Director and Board, highlighting progress against targets, pipeline value, income risks and opportunities.

● Support the Executive Director and Board with information required for organisational planning, financial forecasting and reporting to funders and other stakeholders.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Supervising Social Worker to work directly with Step-Forward carers who care for young people who are moving or have already moved from residential to a foster home.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide regular guidance, training and support including regular in person supervisory visits and other communications to Foster Carers.
• Work collaboratively as part of the team around the child to ensure that the children’s needs are fully assessed, they are carefully matched and well supported in their transition to a foster family.
• To maintain a mutually supportive hub community of Step Forward foster carers.
• Build strong relationships with prospective foster carers by undertaking some fostering assessments and supporting them in their preparation for fostering.
• Where capacity allows, undertake Form F assessments.
• Ensuring children are visited regularly and are included in TACT activities.
• Monitoring outcomes for children and supporting them to reach their full potential.
• Identifying the professional and personal needs of foster families to facilitate development and retention.

What You’ll Need

• A degree in Social Work or equivalent.
• Up-to-date registration with Social Work England.
• A minimum of 2 years post-qualifying experience in a regulated fostering service.
• A proven track record in working with and on behalf of children, respecting and maintaining their individuality, and promoting their positive development.
• Assessment of Foster Carers, using BAAF Competency Based Form F, where required.

Aims and scope of the post

The Museum Data Manager helps museums through all the stages of bringing their collections data into the Museum Data Service (MDS). They help  make the onboarding process reassuringly quick and easy, particularly for those museum staff and volunteers with limited technical knowledge. The postholder also makes the ingested data as useful as possible to end users by mapping the various source data fields to Spectrum units of information.

MDS is a transformative service from Collections Trust, Art UK and the University of Leicester. It aims to connect and share all the object records across all UK museums, providing the raw material for anyone to work with this wealth of knowledge. The core MDS system uses Knowledge Integration’s CIIM middleware.

Main responsibilities and tasks

• Responding to museums that have expressed interest in joining MDS and leading them through the onboarding process.
• Setting up and managing organisations and user accounts in the MDS CIIM and where needed, Wikidata.
• Generating and filing customised data processing and data deposit agreements based on MDS templates.
• Helping museums export collections data from a range of collections management systems and other systems.
• Helping museums apply access permissions to their data in the MDS CIIM.
• Mapping source data fields to Spectrum units of information.
• Proactively liaising with, and helping, museums to update their MDS data at agreed intervals.
• Responding to enquiries from MDS CIIM users, troubleshooting non-technical problems and liaising with MDS technical support as needed.
• Helping to prepare guidance and deliver training relating to the onboarding process.
• Responding to enquiries about MDA codes that identify UK collection-holding organisations and their collections and maintaining the database of these.
• Undertaking data cleaning work for Collections Trust to support collections consultancy work.

Your role as an Intern in our Consulting Team

As a member of the consulting team (after sufficient training) you will be given the opportunity to work on some of Scriptoria’s exciting international consulting projects alongside senior team members. Fundraiser Job Description

Within a small, dynamic medical charity, the Fundraiser will play a pivotal role, engaging supporters through creative campaigns and cultivating strong relationships with donors, sponsors, and stakeholders.

The role is currently home-based in the UK, with remote staff communications.  Attendance at events across the UK is required, so the ability to travel is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Financial Management

• Monitor and track fundraising income in collaboration with the accountant
• Forecast income targets and plan campaign budgets and expenses
• Draft fundraising budgets and coordinate payment processing
• Analyse income trends and adapt activity during quieter periods
• Ensure transparency and accuracy in all fundraising finances

Sponsorship & Donor Relations

• Identify, approach, and secure new sponsors and major donors
• Develop compelling funding bids and sponsorship packages
• Maintain strong relationships with existing donors, demonstrating the impact of their support
• Act as a consistent point of contact for sponsors and supporters
• Acknowledge and steward donations appropriately

Marketing, Campaigns & Communications

• Develop and deliver marketing campaigns to support fundraising activity
• Create engaging content such as blogs, newsletters, brochures, videos, and appeals
• Write persuasive copy for donation pages and fundraising materials
• Maintain and update fundraising content on the website
• Coordinate with external designers, printers, and agencies as needed

Social Media & Digital Fundraising

• Develop and implement a social media strategy aligned with fundraising goals
• Create, schedule, and manage content across multiple platforms
• Promote campaigns, appeals, and events online
• Engage with supporters and monitor online conversations
• Track and report on engagement and fundraising performance
• Design and deliver online donation drives, Giving Days, and email campaigns
• Support paid advertising and collaborations with partners or influencers

Supporter Engagement & Community Building

• Share impact stories and donor recognition (with consent)
• Encourage peer-to-peer fundraising
• Foster an engaged and supportive online community

PR & Media Relations

• Forge relationships with local and national media
• Draft press releases and pitch fundraising stories
• Manage publicity for fundraising events
• Coordinate media opportunities, photo calls, and branded event materials

About You

You will be based in the UK.

You will have experience in marketing, ideally within charity fundraising, with a proven ability to deliver successful campaigns and grow income across multiple channels. You are confident writing persuasive copy, using data to inform decisions, and managing campaigns from inception to completion.

You are well organised, take initiative, and communicate easily with others. You work collaboratively, bring creativity to what you do, and pay close attention to detail. Confidence using Microsoft Office is essential. Most importantly, you care about the mission of a charity, and an interest in healthcare and medicine would be a welcome addition

Finance & Governance Lead

Salary: £45,000 - 47,500 FTE (£22,500-£23,750 pro rata depending on experience)

Hours: The role is 0.5 FTE employee ie 2.5 days/20 hours a week. Occasional flexible working may be required.

Location: Remote, preferably in the Northwest, with monthly travel to Liverpool.

Contract: 24-month contract with the intention to extend, subject to funding. 

Responsible to: Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Programmes Lead and Development Manager.

Probation period: 3 months

Line Management: This role has no line management responsibility.

We are a volunteer-led charity committed to reshaping the landscape of global healthcare. We work internationally  and have a clear and ambitious mission: to improve access to quality diagnostic imaging worldwide, specifically within low- and middle-income countries.

About the role

Your work will span all areas including bookkeeping, financial management and reporting, statutory accounting, budgeting, grant management, and charities commission governance and compliance. In short, it is a very hands-on role.

We are seeking the right person to join our Senior Leadership Team and lead the charity’s finance and governance functions. This is a pivotal role focused on ensuring financial integrity, regulatory compliance, and effective charity governance. You will play a strategic role in supporting the organisation’s mission by enabling robust financial planning, reporting, and operational support. You will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Board of Trustees, and Programmes Lead to ensure the charity remains financially resilient and well-governed.

This job is for you if you have charity finance and governance experience and possess expertise in financial control and reporting, allowing you to effectively handle your responsibilities. Your numerical skills and critical thinking abilities will enable you to proactively address challenges and streamline processes. You will be proactive, reliable and adaptable and you will be comfortable using a range of IT tools and working in a remote, global environment.

Working closely with our UK and international team, as well as our global network of volunteers and partners, clear communication and cultural awareness are also important.

Key responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

● Contribute to the strategic leadership and development of the charity, providing financial advice and insight to the Chief Executive, Senior Management Team and Board of Trustees

● Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting supporting the  organisational sustainability and long-term financial resilience

Financial Administration

●      Full bookkeeping responsibilities on Xero accounts package.

Financial management

● Lead all aspects of financial management and control including the preparation of timely management accounts, finance reports and forecasts. These will allow you to monitor the financial performance of the organisation and provide analysis and recommendations.

●      You will manage the cashflow management, reserves and investments, and oversee the payroll and other statutory obligations

● Ensure effective financial systems, processes and internal controls are maintained

Statutory Accounting

● Lead the preparation of annual statutory accounts liaising with the external accountant, ensuring compliance with Charity SORP, Companies House, Charity Commission and HMRC requirements

Funding & Grant Management

● Lead the financial management, monitoring and reporting of restricted and unrestricted funding, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and supporting effective budget management across the charity

● Support budgeting and reporting for grants, contracts and funding agreements.

Governance & Compliance

● Prepare financial reports and papers for the Board of Trustees and present at the meetings.

● Support organisational risk management and governance processes

● Develop and maintain financial policies and charity wide policies

● Manage the Charity insurance requirements and renewal

Management

● Lead and develop the finance function identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes and reporting

● Support the wider aims of the charity and, from time to time, carry out other general duties as may reasonably be required by the Chief Executive Officer

Essential skills and qualities

● A financial control and reporting background with an accounting qualification (e.g. ACA,ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or QBE)

● Experience in a senior finance role

● Experience of organisational governance, ideally with knowledge of Charity SORP and charity regulations. 

● Experience of restricted fund accounting and grant management

● Experience of liaising with accountants to prepare annual accounts and reports required by the Charity Commission. 

● Experience of cash flow forecasting. 

● A confident and clear communicator with the ability to communicate financial information in an appropriate manner for non-financial trustees and staff. 

● Ability to prioritise and plan activities to meet strict deadlines. 

Desirable

● Experience supporting boards or governance processes.

● Experience working or volunteering in the non-profit and/or health sector.
