About the role

As Legal Counsel, you will provide high-quality, pragmatic legal advice across a broad range of charity, commercial, contract and regulatory matters.

Working within an experienced legal team collaborating on complex and high-impact legal matters, you will support SCUK's legal and compliance obligations, assist with risk management, instruct external counsel when needed, and contribute to a culture of ethics, integrity and safeguarding. You will also support the development of legal tools and training to empower colleagues to operate with confidence and compliance.

In this role, you will:

• Provide pragmatic, risk-based legal advice across contract, commercial, charity law and regulatory compliance matters.
• Draft, review and negotiate a broad range of contracts, including donation agreements, grant agreements, partnership agreements, service agreements and NDAs.
• Support compliance with legal obligations including data protection, safeguarding, anti-fraud, anti-bribery, sanctions, and charity law.
• Support external counsel management and liaise with SCUK and SCI legal teams.
• Deliver training and guidance to staff and volunteers to embed legal awareness and self-service across the organisation.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the charitable sector, assess their impact on SCUK and ensure that staff are aware of and comply with changes and updates.

About you

To be successful, it is important that you demonstrate the following:

• Qualified lawyer in England and Wales (or equivalent jurisdiction) with post-qualification experience advising independently on a broad range of commercial, contract and/or charity law matters.
• Experience in at least 1 of the following areas: general corporate / commercial / contract, regulatory compliance, charity / not-for-profit.
• An understanding of:
  • the UK charity regulatory framework; and
  • the UK's bribery and anti-terrorism laws and practice, including the way in which they may impact an international NGO.
• Demonstrated ability to draft, negotiate, and advise on a broad range of contracts, plus experience of advising on compliance issues.
• Ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and to explain complex legal issues clearly and pragmatically to diverse audiences.
• Strong ethical judgment, flexibility and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
• Efficient, highly organised, self-motivated, and able to prioritise effectively under pressure.

About the role 

Based in the PDT team this role will contribute towards Your Place’s overarching mission to end homelessness one person at a time and meet organisational KPI’s around outcome based contracts.

In response to an increasing proportion of residents who have been referred to us holding refugee status we are seeking to develop our supported accommodation services to meet the particular needs of this group.

This role will be responsible for developing our services to make them more accessible to our resident population who are from a migrant background. This includes:

• Developing our move on offer to residents from a migrant background including the design and delivery of move on training in particular ensuring that they have a realistic understanding of the housing market and to provide the appropriate support to enable them to maintain accommodation in future.

• The development of bespoke accommodation pathways and support to ensure that barriers that migrants face within housing market are overcome.

• To identify and liaise with reputable private sector landlords including on issues such as rent, housing standards and tenure.

• Working with Frontline Services colleagues to improve accessibility and cultural relevance of services to resident from a migrant background that promotes inclusivity and is trauma informed.

The Role

The Law Society is seeking an experienced Head of Governance to lead our governance and executive office functions into a modern, smart and efficient future.

This newly created and pivotal leadership role is responsible for strengthening our governance capability, embedding best practice across the organisation, and ensuring the highest standards of oversight, transparency and strategic alignment.

Reporting to the General Counsel, the Head of Governance will combine advanced leadership capability with excellent communication, technological and risk-management skills. They will produce creative assets and content to support the goals of both charities and coordinate creative production to reach new audiences and build our profiles in the music industry and beyond.

The Relationship Fundraising team at Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) is responsible for securing income from individuals, regional businesses and groups fundraising in the community, effectively managing relationships to maximise income.

The Relationship Fundraising role will play a significant part in contributing to a high-performing fundraising team. The role will cover area of West London.

You will report to the Relationship Fundraising Manager and support the Head of Relationship Fundraising & Volunteering to drive the continued growth of the charity’s fundraising income in your area. You will also be required to show excellent relationship-building skills to support community partnerships and volunteer groups, driving towards agreed targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy, finance, and reporting

· Responsibility for stewardship and relationship building with supporters within the region.

· Identify and apply for ‘Charity of the Year’ partnerships with corporates in the region, account manage these relationships up to a value of £50,000 per annum and support the Partnership Development Team with national partnerships in your region.

· Support existing volunteer fundraisers to encourage continued loyalty to the charity and to maximise funds raised, in accordance with fundraising legislation and good practice.

· Recruit new fundraising supporters in line with strategy.

· Support the Relationship Fundraising Manager (RFM) and Head of Relationship Fundraising (HORF) in developing the Relationship Fundraising strategy for ARUK to increase income within this stream.

· Support and extend volunteer networks within geographical area in line with strategy.

· To ensure that fundraising activity is implemented and managed to deliver budgets, targets and income in line with strategy. To achieve this by supporting and facilitating the development of groups and volunteers across geographical area.

· Work across a diverse geographical area and within a geographically dispersed team, whilst managing own workload in a cost-effective and proactive way.

Supporter Management

· Provide excellent customer service to fundraising supporters, with prompt responses to enquiries, to acknowledge support and increase long-term loyalty.

· Provide high-quality account management to volunteer groups in geographical area.

· Effective management of volunteer relationships within geographical area.

· Support, motivate and develop local fundraising volunteers, ensuring they have a clear understanding of ARUK to enable them to represent the charity’s work effectively.

· In liaison with the Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Officers, provide high quality account management to corporate supporters within specified geographical area and/or of relevant value.

· Keep up to date with fundraising legislation and codes of practice to be able to provide relevant advice to fundraisers.

· Ensure volunteers and fundraisers have all necessary materials for fundraising initiatives.

Increasing Community Support within geographical area

· Use own initiative to extend volunteer networks, develop new groups and supporters, and respond to fundraising opportunities within geographical area, in line with strategy.

· Manage recruitment process of new ARUK volunteers in geographical area, providing relevant support and training.

· Liaise with local community organisations (predominantly golf clubs) – both previous and new potential supporters – to extend income and activity in line with strategy.

· Provide face-to-face talks and presentations to community organisations for recruitment/ cultivation purposes.

· Arrange appropriate volunteer representation at events in the community, spreading the charity’s reach cost-effectively.

· Identify, research and target prospective community organisations, in liaison with RFM.

· Identify, research and target prospective local corporates in liaison with RFM / HORF and ARUK’s Partnership Development Managers and Partnership Development Officers, in line with strategy.

· Accurately track and record contact with both community and corporate prospects for planning and reporting purposes.

Monitoring and Reporting

· Ensure that your activity is monitored and evaluated, clearly communicating progress to your Relationship Fundraising Manager.

· Manage relevant information on the charity’s database, keeping detailed, up-to-date records of activity and income.

What we are looking for:

· Experience in partnership fundraising and/or relationship building

· Experience and confidence in public-speaking, such as giving presentations and talking at events

· Knowledge of recruiting key volunteers and fundraising supporters

· Experience and a keen interest in building long term relationships with supporters

· Proven ability of providing excellent stewardship

· An ability to manage a busy and varied workload

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

· Excellent organisational skills

· Flexibility to work some unsocial hours and willingness to travel independently

· Live within defined region

Ways of working: As part of our Remote ways of working you will be home based. You will only need to attend the office for specific requirements of the role and the business needs.

Roles that are classed as part of the Remote ways of working are able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events. We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, and energetic supervisor or team leader to take up a full-time role within our organisation as a Operations Supervisor to be part of our small and dedicated team. The role will be based in Southwark as well as potential for wider London working as you will be part several innovative housing projects in London supporting vulnerable households to sustain their tenancies. As well as a team line manager, you will be maintaining and developing partnership with the Council’s housing officers, solicitors, landlords, community services, social prescribers, and mental health support workers to ensure tailored support can be offered for each client. The objectives of these programmes are to avoid evictions, sustain tenancies, increase employment opportunities, improve wellbeing, and increase educational outcomes. You will be working in partnership with other stakeholders such as schools and local authorities to improve family health, build relationships and engage families and individuals and their networks of support.    

About you   

We are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in staff management and project leadership, knowledge of housing polices, and with proven experience working with individuals who have complex needs. 

You will be responsible for managing and developing partnerships, supporting data collection for reports and monitoring, and contributing to quality assurance processes. In addition, you will hold a small caseload, providing direct, holistic support to individuals as part of your role. 

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, and highly organised. You should be confident working independently, with a genuine passion for driving positive change. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to provide holistic support and think creatively to find solutions. 

You will have:

• Experience leading and supervising other support workers, or volunteers, including delegation, training, and mentoring. 

• Ability to monitoring staff performance, and ensuring continuous professional development 

• Demonstratable experience of building and maintaining partnerships with stakeholders, statutory and  community organisations 

• Understanding of housing law, direct experience of working in partnership housing associations, local authorities, homeless organisations and public sector stakeholders  

• Good understanding of policy and procedures related to homelessness, benefits and housing market  

• Experience of organising project delivery and development 

• Experience of writing reports to showcase records and impact 

• Ability to work sensitively and empathetically with people in vulnerable circumstances
