The Policy and Convening Manager helps drive the Foundation’s mission to improve urban health by shaping how the organisation influences policy and decision-making. The role sits within a Policy and Influencing function that works closely with programmes teams to turn evidence from funded projects into strong networks, higher visibility and meaningful policy impact. 

The Policy and Convening Manager develops influencing strategies based on the insights from Impact on Urban Health programmes, builds coalitions and leads a new cross-programme approach to convening – including showcasing evidence from the Foundation and its partners, and delivering targeted policy-focused events. The role involves experimenting with new approaches to deliver impact, spotting opportunities to influence, and leading investment partnerships with a policy angle, which may include commissioning research or designing campaigns. 

The Policy and Convening Manager works with the Head of Policy and Influencing on engagement with key parliamentary and governmental stakeholders and collaborates with Communications colleagues to create impactful policy communications. 

Key Responsibilities

• Working with the Head of Policy and Influencing, develop and deliver compelling influencing strategies for our Urban Health programmes. 
• Lead on development of a new policy convening strategy, encompassing our approaches to building coalitions, delivering policy events, and platforming the work of our funded partners. 
• Develop, lead and manage through our partnership life cycle a portfolio of investment partnerships with a particular influencing focus within these programmes.
• Act as a source of policy expertise and political insight for colleagues across the organisation, proactively briefing on key political events and policy developments.
• Lead horizon scanning to identify proactive and reactive influencing opportunities, and deliver this activity in partnership with internal and external colleagues.
• Working closely with Communications Managers, develop and deliver impactful communications to influence.
• Bring a diversity, equity and inclusion lens to all our policy and influencing activity, whether in how we work with our partners or in our own systems and processes.

Job Title: Philanthropy Officer

Reporting to: Philanthropy Manager

Purpose of the Role

The role of the Philanthropy Officer is to manage the gift administration and stewardship of supporters, lead on the stewardship of regular and individual givers, and support the Philanthropy Manager to grow the Individual Giving income stream for Chance to Shine. 

This includes responsibility for the coordination of individual giving campaigns, management of the administration of legacy gifts, and wider regular giving campaigns and appeals.

Key responsibilities

Supporter Care

• Ensure all donations are efficiently and accurately recorded and acknowledged in a timely fashion.
• Process all individual giving bank donations including website/third-party fundraising/gift-collection platforms and ensure they are efficiently and accurately entered onto our Raisers Edge database and processed (cash, cheques, credit cards, Direct Debits and vouchers) daily. 
• Maintain accurate electronic supporter records including donations, personal details, Gift Aid declarations, communication preferences and any other data relating to their support. 
• Write and update template thank you letters. 
• Respond to donor enquiries and provide personalised information as and when requested.
• Work with the Philanthropy Manager and the Communications and Marketing team to develop the supporter care strategy, proactively identifying and implementing new ways of improving supporter care.

Supporter Cultivation 

• Coordinate appeals and campaigns to help upgrade supporters and bring in new donors.
• Regularly identify lapsed committed supporters with a view to reengaging them via fundraising cultivation. 
• Produce copy for fundraising materials alongside the Communications and Marketing team and organise the distribution of these materials to supporters in a coordinated manner. 
• Support the Philanthropy Manager on the organisation and execution of project visits for supporters including attending visits where needed. 
• Support the Philanthropy Manager and Director of Fundraising with funding proposals and reports as needed.
• Support the Philanthropy Manager and Director of Fundraising when preparing for meetings and calls with current and prospective new supporters.
• Support on the research and identification of new prospects

Legacy gifts

• Lead on communications with legacy and in-memory supporters to ensure that this is sensitively managed and reflects the values of Chance to Shine. 
• Monitor and maintain legacy gifts on the database and support with the administration of legacies for the organisation.

Compliance and Data Protection

• Support on data protection compliance for the fundraising team working with the Director of Finance and Resources and Fundraising team as appropriate.
• Ensure all fundraising processes comply with data protection regulations, (including Data Protection Act 2018 and GDPR) the Code of Fundraising Practice and any other regulatory bodies. 
• Lead on updating supporters’ consent and preferences to comply with fundraising regulations and best practice.

General Support 

• Manage fundraising income administration, including donation processing and income reconciliation with Finance Team.
• Lead on organisational Gift Aid, including Gift Aid promotion and submitting claims.
• Undertake other responsibilities not outlined above which are commensurate with a role of this nature and which have been discussed and agreed with the line manager. 
• Work occasional evenings or weekends to support fundraising events (for which time off in lieu will be given)

We are looking for a passionate, and professional counsellor with excellent interpersonal and organisational skills to join our Emotional Support Service based in Liverpool. This is an exciting opportunity to work with stroke survivors and their families to support them following stroke.

The Role

Reporting to the Emotional Support Service Manager, the team will deliver a professional counselling service to stroke survivors, carers and relatives.  Counselling sessions are designed to help clients to develop emotional resilience, readjust to life after stroke and prepare to reintegrate into community life.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Providing one to one counselling to stroke survivors, carers and relatives including those with communication or cognitive difficulties

· Providing counselling sessions in person, on-line or by telephone, throughout Liverpool.

· Assessing the appropriateness of counselling for service users by providing emotional needs assessment sessions as well as using appropriate screening/evaluation tools (e.g. PHQ and GAD)

· Managing risk and safeguarding issues in accordance with appropriate legal, ethical and organisational requirements.

About You

You will have:

· An advanced diploma in integrative, humanistic or person-centred counselling/psychotherapy; for example, BACP recognised course or equivalent (i.e. 450 hours skills and theory, 100 hours of supervised practice, 20 hours of personal therapy)

· A minimum of 1 year post qualification supervised clinical practice

· BACP registration (or equivalent) and actively working towards accreditation

· Experience of delivering short-term counselling

· Experience of working with people with cognitive impairment

· A flexible approach to hours and working arrangement, being able to work independently.

This role requires extensive travel across a large geographical locality to visit people at home. Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they can meet this requirement of the role. You must live in the Liverpool area to fulfil this travel requirement. To fulfil the role, you must be a resident of the UK and have the right to work in the UK.

You'll collaborate with colleagues across our Engagement, Events, Publications, and Sales Teams to understand our audiences and products, and use this insight to reach audiences with creative content across a wide variety of channels.

Whilst our core channels are our websites, emails and social channels, the successful candidate will test and learn from activity across the whole spectrum of earned, owned and paid media to elevate your campaigns and add more value for our audiences.

Alongside work on campaigns and content, the successful candidate will provide administrative support for the team including raising and tracking purchase orders and invoices; data extraction, manipulation, and analysis; proof reading; and other support to help with the smooth running of the team.

This role sits within the Commercial Marketing Team, which comprises 9 permanent staff, and sits within our wider Marketing Team which totals 26 people.

About the Role 

We are seeking an ambitious, entrepreneurial and relationship-focused Partnerships & Engagement Manager to lead the development of new income streams from philanthropists and the wider public. 

This is an exciting opportunity to build and grow a fundraising portfolio that will support One World in Schools in the UK, while also generating funding for PIN’s broader humanitarian and development programmes internationally. 

The successful candidate will cultivate and steward major donors, develop compelling fundraising propositions, and identify innovative ways to engage supporters with the impact of our work. Key Responsibilities 

Fundraising Strategy & Income Generation

One World Engagement Strategy

Communications & Collaboration

The Woodland Trust is looking for a Head of Estate and Programmes - North to join our North England Team. The Head of Estate and Programmes will lead the Trust’s estate team and related programmes of work in North England. They will take a strategic overview, identifying and shaping new initiatives to ensure that the estate and associated programmes are developed and managed to the highest professional standards and in accordance with the Woodland Trust’s management approach, policies and standards.

The Role:

• Lead the strategic management of the Trust’s woodland estate across the North, ensuring the highest professional standards, regulatory compliance, and delivery of landscape-scale conservation outcomes.
• Shape and deliver major estate-based programmes and projects, working collaboratively across teams and with external partners to achieve the Trust’s strategic objectives.
• Provide inspiring leadership to a multidisciplinary team of site managers, project managers, and programme staff, fostering a high-performance, values-led culture.
• Oversee the effective planning, management, and governance of a multi-million-pound estate budget, ensuring excellent value for money and efficient use of resources.

The Candidate:

• Experienced leader with a proven track record of managing complex estates, large-scale programmes, projects and multidisciplinary teams to deliver ambitious strategic outcomes.
• Strong understanding of woodland, forestry, conservation, land management and the operation of large estates, with knowledge of ancient woodland management highly desirable.
• Commercially and financially astute, with experience managing significant budgets and balancing strategic priorities, operational performance and value for money.
• Confident in leading health, safety, risk management and governance activities within geographically dispersed operational environments.
• Skilled at building influential relationships and strategic partnerships, with the credibility to engage effectively with funders, land managers, public bodies, conservation organisations and other key stakeholders.
• Good understanding of England’s land-use, environmental and forestry policy landscape, particularly across the North, and the ability to translate this into practical outcomes.
• Highly organised and adaptable, with strong project management skills, confidence using MS Office and GIS systems.
• Professionally qualified to HND, degree level or equivalent in forestry, land management or a related discipline, with membership (or working towards membership) of the Institute of Chartered Foresters. Additionally, hold a full valid driving licence.
