Job description 

1. Supporter engagement: 

• Thanking and recording donations; maintaining up-to-date supporter records 

• Supporting outreach through JRS UK events such as our Advent Service and report launches 

• Representing JRS UK at external events such as Greenbelt festival or the National Justice and Peace Network conference 

• Undertaking talks and appeals in parishes or school

2. Digital and Offline communications: 

• Producing and distributing printed materials (e.g. quarterly newsletters; publicity materials; parish resources) 

• Maintaining and developing JRS UK’s digital presence (e.g. website; social media; e-updates) 

• Capturing and managing digital assets (such as audio, photographs, and videos)

• Developing content for JRS UK’s website, newsletters, and social media – scoping and drafting content that champion refugee voices, shares our work, or engages supporters in our advocacy 

• Analysing web traffic and social media engagement to inform future activity 

3. Appeals 

• Supporting the delivery of JRS UK’s three direct-mail appeals (Advent, Lent, World Day of Migrants and Refugees) and our annual legacy appeal by: 

  • Researching and drafting content 

  • Curating and segmenting data 

  • Sourcing and producing visuals 

4. Trust fundraising  

• Stewarding relationships with some small and medium sized trusts 

• Drafting and submiting grant applications and reports 

5. Other duties as required by the Communications and Fundraising Manager or Head of Communications, Fundraising and Advocacy  

JRS UK is recruiting a full-time Senior Fundraising and Communications Officer, responsible for helping to build our support base, especially among the Catholic community. 

This is a senior role, reporting to the Head of Communications, Fundraising and Advocacy and working closely with the Fundraising and Communications Manager. It will involve developing and delivering our strategy for recruiting supporters in parishes and other settings, as well as delivering a range of fundraising initiatives including our challenge events programme. We are seeking someone with a proven track-record in fundraising and community outreach, as well as a good understanding of the Catholic community in the UK.

Job description 

1. Developing and leading JRS UK’s parish engagement plan: 

• Strategic development of JRS UK’s long-term approach towards engaging parishes in our mission 

• Arranging and delivering fundraising appeals, talks, and engagement with parish groups 

• Ensuring that parishes supporting our mission are kept up to date with our work and opportunities to get involved 

• Building sustainable relationships with at least 20 parishes annually by year two

2. Expanding JRS UK’s outreach in the Catholic and wider Christian community: 

• Identifying and delivering opportunities to share our mission with others and involve them in our work including:

                  i. representing JRS UK at national events 

                  ii. leading our engagement with other Jesuit organisations and Catholic organisations such as the National Justice and Peace Network

                  iii. Producing resources tailored to different audiences such as Catholic youth groups, Justice and Peace groups, and non-churchgoing Catholics 

3. Leading recruitment of regular donors: 

• Utilising the opportunities outlined here to engage new regular/committed supporters

• Recruiting at least 120 new regular supporters annually by year 2

• Working with the Fundraising and Communications Manager on our process for welcoming and stewarding regular supporters 

4. Leading our challenge events programme: 

• Recruiting and stewarding our teams for the TCS London Marathon, London Landmarks Half Marathon, and Vitaly 10k ensuring all participants are supported, equipped, and celebrated 

• Keeping past participants up to date with our work and the impact of their support 

• Promoting opportunities for supporters to undertake their own fundraising events

• Raising a net income of £20,000 annually through challenge events by year 2

Other responsibilities  

• Working with the Fundraising and Communications Manager on our schools and universities engagement plan

• Ensuring good quality supporter records are kept in compliance with data processing requirements 

• Periodic management of interns or volunteers 

• Other duties as required by the Head of Communications, Fundraising and Advocacy

Job Title: Night Engagement Worker 

Location: This role is based in Redbridge. The service is a short walk from Gants Hill Underground Station. The area is also served by multiple bus routes, including 114, 121, 128, 150, and 272, offering direct local and regional connections for staff commuting to the service. Unfortunately, this service does not have step free access.

Salary: £28,800

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Sunday 20:30 - 08:30. You may also be required to work outside these hours as per service and resident requirements, which includes weekends and bank holidays which form part of your rota

About the Role

We’re looking for a Night Engagement Worker to join the team in Redbridge. You will support within the Offender Personality Disorder Housing Accommodation to support in successfully rehabilitating and reintegrating our residents and participants back into the community. The service delivers support for people in the criminal justice system who are deemed high risk, and likely to meet criteria for personality disorder. Penrose OPD HASS service offers specialist accommodation to people with high risk/high needs and require intensive support to overcome barriers to resettlement and progress towards independent living in the community.

You will assist with those who have recently been released from prison, secure health settings, or are transitioning from Approved Premises. Your role will involve supporting all aspects of key engagement activities, aiding their rehabilitation, reablement, and reintegration into society by providing pathways, support, and appropriate interventions, that will enable successful resettlements and work with internal and external partners and agencies to achieve desired outcomes. 

Key Responsibilities include:

• Support residents who may be facing challenges with substance misuse, helping them take positive steps forward.
• Creating one to one person centred support plans to support residents in achieving their goals.
• Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of residents at all times during the shift, including regular check ins and carrying our protocols.
• Planning activities to engage residents with other people, communities, and opportunities during the evening which may include movie nights and games nights.
• Lone working is part of the role, but you’ll always have a supportive team around.
• Be a valued and reliable member of the team, completing handovers for day colleagues for a seamless service.

About You

We're looking for someone who shares our passion for supporting people who may be deemed as having a personality disorder and have been referred to us by the criminal justice service. Our residents are at the forefront of our service delivery, so building trusting and professional relationships is key. You’ll be adaptable, proactive, and confident using your initiative to resolve challenges, and keep the night service running smoothly. Teamwork is essential and having previous knowledge of the needs our residents may have. Each support plan is tailored to the individual, so you'll help deliver care that truly meets their needs.

• Understanding of Personality Disorder and the Criminal Justice System
• Experience in working with people of different backgrounds which may be complex.
• Ability to engage with people from different backgrounds, build rapport, and empower them to achieve their personal goals
• Comfortable working with people who have different types of histories of behaviours which have led to in-prison sentencing.
• Awareness of external opportunities which are available such as with education, employment and benefits
• Organised and proactive in managing tasks like welfare checks, safeguarding, and accurate record keeping
• Confidence in identifying when someone may be struggling with their mental or physical health, substance use, or other challenges, and knowing how to respond
• IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, basic Microsoft experience
• Cultural awareness, Self-awareness, and ability to identify personal growth areas and take feedback
• Ability and willingness to show flexibility of working patterns, responding to the needs of the service and residents

We are now recruiting an IPS Employment Advisor to join our Connect to Work service across Enfield. This is a full-time, permanent role working 35 hours per week, following the principles of the IPS model to support people into paid employment.

You would be joining us at an especially exciting time – we’re in the early stages of our first-ever major appeal and have already secured more than £8 million towards our £25 million target. Backed by a highly engaged and well-connected appeal board, this campaign has huge potential across Fundraising, but especially our high value audiences.

We’re looking for an experienced and confident high-value fundraiser — someone who can build authentic relationships with senior and influential supporters, open doors, and inspire people to be part of something transformative.

Alongside this, you’ll oversee our thriving mid-value and legacy fundraising programmes and help us deepen engagement with supporters across the UK.

As a fundraising and grant-making charity, we bring to life projects that transform patient care - from sensory packs for children in A&E to a peaceful sanctuary garden for people living with dementia. We’re a small, ambitious and supportive team, and in just three years we’ve tripled our income. Our goal is to become the charity of choice for our local community in Islington and Haringey.

Over the past 18 months, this role has built community and challenge events income from the ground up, creating real momentum. There’s still huge untapped potential locally, offering an exciting opportunity to grow and innovate.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you’ll build meaningful relationships with clinicians, donors and the community, and see first-hand the impact of your work. Service Coordinator

Dot Dot Dot is a social enterprise which allows people who do brilliant voluntary work to live in buildings that would otherwise be empty. We provide good, inexpensive housing to people who make a difference, we protect buildings for their owners, and we contribute to communities. Everyone wins.

We are looking for an effective, organised and socially minded person to join our services team as a Service Coordinator. You will be at the heart of our business, directly coordinating and delivering our service to guardians and to property owners. Supported by experienced managers and, making use of a field team and other operational support, you will deliver work across our diverse portfolio.

The fundamentals of this role

Manage guardians

• Ensure guardians meet our criteria and ready for life as a guardian.
• Manage the guardian sign-up and move-in process.
• Be the main point of contact for guardians.
• Liaise with guardians to resolve any issues or concerns, e.g. poor conduct, licence breaches or vulnerability concerns.
• Work closely with guardians when they need to move on from Dot Dot Dot properties.
• Draw on data to gain insight into guardians and to guide support or interventions as required.
• Coordinate or assist with events, partnerships and other activities to promote volunteering and/or community engagement.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure repairs are properly reported and dealt with.
• Collaborate with colleagues to fill voids quickly with suitable guardians.

Manage properties

• Collaborate with colleagues ensure that properties are monitored, set up and managed in line with internal standards, client requirements and any relevant licensing or regulatory standards.
• Organise, monitor and manage the handback of properties to clients, ensuring guardian and client relationships are managed professionally and  effectively.
• Monitor budgets and spending on property issues, to make good choices about spending and to inform budget planning and risk management.
• Collaborate with clients on property repairs, major works or other issues.
• Provide clients with reports and information about their property as required.

Provide excellent client service

• Liaise closely with clients (building owners) to understand their needs and to keep them updated and informed about our work.
• Build strong day-to-day relationships with client contacts, working in a collaborative and service- focused way.
• Understand our client agreements and ensure that our service delivery meets the unique requirements of each contract.
• Identify opportunities to add value for our clients, encouraging the best social and financial value for all parties.

• You’re likely to be able to demonstrate experience of, or aptitude for, much of the following:
• Interest in our mission and values as an organisation.
• Confidence in and enthusiasm for meeting people, with good interpersonal skills and a friendly, professional manner.
• Resourceful, proactive and hands-on approach - the service coordinator will experience new places, people and challenges and the ability to find practical solutions or seek out advice is critical. 
• Organisation and good attention to detail - someone who prepares in advance for tasks and ensures that every detail is properly addressed.
• Ability to prioritise workload and efficiently manage diary to achieve results and meet deadlines.
• Responsibility and trustworthiness - able to take responsibility for the safety and security of people and buildings.
• Self confident and practical, ready to make decisions and use judgement in a wide variety of contexts, places and situations.
