Age UK Redbridge, Barking & Havering offers an Advice & Information service to support older people living in the boroughs of Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham and Redbridge which is free, independent and confidential to older people, their relatives, carers and friends. We are recruiting an Advice Worker to cover the London Borough of Havering. This role requires the worker to work independently and manage their own caseload but be part of the wider team and be aware of the other services provided by Age UK Redbridge, Barking & Havering. The post involves both office based, home visit and outreach work at a variety of locations across Havering. Good IT skills are required and familiarity with Charity Log would be useful as well as knowledge of relevant quality assurance systems.

About the role
As part of our small Health Academy team, you’ll work closely with the Health Academy Lead, Nutritionist and Physical Wellbeing Facilitators to deliver a range of wellbeing activities and events. From supporting programmes like Get Moving, Walking Football and Fishing for Wellbeing to attending community events, your work will help promote healthier lifestyles, encourage behaviour change, and raise awareness of cancer prevention and early detection.

You’ll also be a welcoming and supportive point of contact for our service users, offering practical support, listening, and guidance, while helping to ensure services are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with best practice. Alongside this, you’ll support the smooth running of the team through administration, data collection, and collaboration with colleagues, volunteers, and external partners.

Key responsibilities:

The King’s Trust is looking for a passionate and experienced Safeguarding Advisor to join our national Safeguarding Team on a maternity cover basis. This is a vital role where your expertise will help protect and promote the safety and well-being of young people aged 11 to 30, with a particular focus on those aged 18 to 25. The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s (HMN) Nightlight Mental health Crisis House are:

Working closely with other staff such as: The Service Manager, Team Leaders, Co-Ordinators, Contract and Bank Support Workers and Volunteers in order to ensure services are of the highest quality and to support the continued growth and development of the service.

About the Project 

Our A and E Link Workers help adults access alternative mental health crisis support, including our Nightlight Crisis Service. We focus on providing a calmer, quieter environment away from the hospital when it’s needed.

The objectives of Hertfordshire Mind Network’s (HMN) A&E Liaison Service are to: 

• Improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire. 
• Increase timely access to help for people experiencing mental health crisis in Hertfordshire, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by HMN and other third sector and statutory providers. 
• Contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing. 
• Remain a source of independent support for all clients. 
• Provide an alternative pathway to people in distress and crisis to support better outcomes and reduce the demand on statutory crisis services, emergency services and A&E departments. 

About the Role: 

The Mental Health A&E Link worker will work closely with individuals in a mental health crisis currently in A&E, by using a person-centred approach to ensure that everyone is supported with dignity and respect. 

They will encourage and facilitate positive steps towards management of crisis and recovery; through providing emotional support, signposting and completing onward referrals into mental health support. They will work closely with A&E clinical staff, integrated discharge teams, Bounce Back, and mental health liaison teams, to proactively identify referrals into the crisis alternatives service to facilitate timely discharges from A&E.

Responsibilities of our Community Operations Volunteer Team Manager 

• Lead and grow a regional volunteer network across multiple locations, supporting hubs and branches, implementing local plans, and exploring new ways of working to meet community needs 

• Recruit, induct and coordinate volunteers, managing campaigns, interviews, onboarding, and rotas to ensure smooth operations across multiple locations 

• Support and engage volunteers, promoting best practice, resolving issues, and recognising contributions through regular communications and celebration events 

• Collaborate across teams and manage risk, ensuring health and safety, safeguarding, and organisational procedures are embedded in volunteer activities 

About the Community Operations team: 

• the community operations team is responsible for supporting our volunteers in centres and branches to work towards our strategy – All for Cats. 

• our centres and branches care for thousands of cats each year until they are able to find a loving new home. 

• the team consists of Community Operations Volunteer Team Leaders, an Area Branch Development Manager, Regional Community Operations Manager and a Community Support Manager as well as multiple branch teams and volunteers across the region

Victim Support is seeking a committed and detail-focused Team Leader to help coordinate and maintain excellent support for witnesses within the busy Court environment at Staines Magistrates Court. You will play a vital role in supporting the Team Leader, volunteers, and wider service ensuring witnesses receive timely, compassionate, and effective support throughout their justice journey.

Main Duties

1. To provide a wide range of organisational and administrative duties to the Business Development and Casework teams as directed, in order to facilitate smooth running of all business systems and operations, ensuring that administrative activities are carried out in accordance with company policy and procedures.

2. Providing operational support to Business Development team, including setting up new cases on CRM system, setting up client contracts, arranging consultations and liaising with Business Development and Casework colleagues to ensure the smooth running of business services.

3. Managing various email inboxes, triaging incoming messages and responding to emails from clients and professionals.

4. Requesting care and/or clinical records, following up on record-requests, checking and processing incoming digital and hard copy records ready for the casework team.

5. Providing operational support to the new client pipelines including processing voicemail enquiries and incoming referrals from the Information and Advice teams.

6. Operating and maintaining CRM, database and filing systems.

7. Providing accurate formatting support to the Casework team, in line with Beacon’s brand guidelines.

8. Supporting the casework team with case administration including requests for records and printing and posting letters.

9. Collecting, processing and distributing post.

10. Supporting the organisation of travel arrangements for Caseworkers.

11. Sharing the general administration of the business as part of the Operations team, including managing stationary stock levels and ordering literature and supplies.

12. Keep operating procedures under review to identify areas of potential development and / or improvement and make recommendations.

13. Attending line management, supervision and team meetings as appropriate.

What is NHS Continuing Healthcare?

NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) is the name given to a package of care that some people need to receive due to disability, accident or illness. People who are eligible for CHC have the full cost of their care and residential accommodation funded by the NHS. This relieves families of sometimes astronomical care bills.

The criteria for determining who is eligible for CHC are highly complex and can be very difficult for the public to understand, and for professionals to apply consistently. The assessment process is lengthy and detailed. Likewise, the appeal process can be very daunting and perplexing.
