Job description

Population Matters is looking for a Campaigner to help us achieve our vision of a future in which a stable human population co-exists in harmony with nature and a healthy planet.

We are a small but expanding team, where everyone’s contribution matters.  You will be a self-starter and be able to work accurately to deadlines with minimal of supervision. This role is home based, with regular travel to London and possibly other locations, being able to work on your own initiative and virtually is a key part of this role.

You will have experience of campaigning, public affairs or similar, and be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline, such as overseas development, environment, international affairs, politics or communications. You’ll also have a feel for campaigning at grassroots level, and how to work with and motivate activists and supporters.

Population Matters’ remit is wide, and your work will find you addressing issues from women’s empowerment to biodiversity loss. You’ll need to meet the challenges and identify the opportunities, helping us to make changes which empower people and help to protect our planet. We’ll ensure you have the support and training to develop your skills. In your relationships with partners and stakeholders in the UK and overseas, you will always represent Population Matters’ progressive and compassionate values.

With support from the director, this role will also manage one of our key projects working with organisations delivering empowerment and family planning.  Project management experience or knowledge of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights issues will be an asset in that work.

The deadline for applications is midday on 11/03/2020. Interviews will be held w/c 16/03/2020.

Please accompany your CV with a covering letter (of no more than 500 words), explaining how you match our requirements, and telling us more about what you will bring to the role.

We're sorry but due to our size it may not be possible to respond to every application.  If you have not heard from us by 16/03/2020 you should assume that, on this occasion, your application has been unsuccessful.  Thank you for your interest in Population Matters.
