THE ROLE
The Engagement and Communications Officer (ECO) is part of an exciting new ‘Building Capacity Project’ which seeks to develop the skills and capacity of communities on the west coast of Scotland to deliver the aims of the Alliance for Scotland’s Rainforest i.e. protect and restore Scotland’s globally important temperate rainforest. The Woodland Trust has secured funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund (NLHF) for this project's initial two-year ‘development’ phase.

The ECO will support the Project Development Manager, project team members and local staff working in three landscape-scale project ‘hubs’ (in Argyll, Morvern and Torridon). The role will provide opportunities for audiences to connect with Scotland’s rainforest and build the skills and capacity needed to sustainably restore it. This involves working with communities, organisations and specialists to a) raise awareness of Scotland’s rainforest, b) facilitate volunteering, on-the-job training and the sharing of learning about how to restore it, and c) inspire a long-term commitment to look after it.  

The ECO will plan and deliver communications and engagement activities during the project's development phase, and support the Project Development Manager to create a comprehensive activity plan for the delivery phase.  This includes surveying audiences to benchmark attitudes; managing a launch event; using existing (or establishing new) local and regional communication channels to reach audiences and share progress; co-developing with partners a series of meaningful engagement opportunities; supporting project ‘hubs’ to develop their own communications and engagement plans and monitoring the impact of project activities.

This is an 18-month fixed-term position. Should our funding bid for the subsequent five-year ‘delivery’ phase be successful, we hope the ECO will remain in post to support the delivery of these plans. 

THE CANDIDATE
You will have experience building relationships with a range of stakeholders including community organisations and are comfortable collaborating and engaging effectively for different outcomes e.g. learning, consultation or facilitation. 

You will be able to confidently organise and deliver a range of events from online webinars to community gatherings; have working knowledge of using social media for marketing, capturing interesting content and writing engaging stories, and you’ll be happy self-managing a diverse and varied workload. 

Plus you’ll have experience working as part of a project team, supporting funding bids, budgeting for, and reporting on the impact of your activity. Oh and have a genuine interest in Scotland’s rainforest of course!

A full UK driving licence is required so you can travel across the west coast when required. Access to your own vehicle would be ideal.

Arts Emergency is looking for an enthusiastic person to join its dynamic Fundraising & Marketing team. 

This rewarding role involves focusing on communicating with and nurturing a large network of donors. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fundraising environment and a good grasp of general fundraising principles and best practices in fundraising.

The salary is £30.5k pro rata. It is a part-time (21 hours per week), permanent role. The role can be home or office-based (London or Manchester), or hybrid.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide first-line support for all fundraising enquiries and ensure they are followed up appropriately and in a timely manner
• Ensure the fundraising database and Gift Aid declarations are up to date
• Support the Head of Fundraising in preparing income reports
• Send thank you emails and post packs to donors at all levels, and keep the website up to date with donor recognition
• Coordinate donor relationships and user experiences within Arts Emergency for regular and one-off donors and for community fundraisers
• Conduct detailed, ongoing research into new funding opportunities and prospective supporters
• Support the Finance team with income administration
• With the wider team, design a schedule of innovative donor events and coordinate preparation
• Contribute to donor communications on social media

We are recruiting a Legacy Fundraiser to grow PAPYRUS’ legacy income by creating and implementing a multi-year legacy strategy, planning and delivering activities in this area and managing residuary, specific and pecuniary cases. 

What you will do: 

• Develop and implement a legacy strategy and operational plan for long term growth.

• Research and develop new legacy activities and create a marketing plan. Project manage the day-to-day planning and delivery of activities central to the legacy marketing program, including: direct mail, email marketing, digital, social media, events, and the promotion of tribute funds and free will services.

• Work closely with the Fundraising Manager and communications team to develop a compelling legacy proposition and produce a suite of legacy and in memory marketing materials that can be used to engage and inspire supporters to take the next step in their legacy giving, including sharing inspiring, compelling case studies to support legacy marketing and in memory activity, including gathering stories from legacy and in memory supporters.

• Work across income generation and with other departments to identify and target legacy prospects within the existing supporter base and other potential legacy audiences across all of PAPYRUS’ networks.

• Identify opportunities to cross promote legacy and in memory giving to supporters as well as any activity from across the charity that could provide appropriate cultivation and stewardship opportunities for existing and prospective Legacy and In Memory supporters.

• Provide teams with relevant, engaging and impactful content, messaging or resources for inclusion in cross-team supporter communications.

To be successful in this role you will have: 

• English and Maths GCSE or equivalent grade C or above

• Previous experience of working in a fundraising role for a UK registered charity 

• Proven track record of effective relationship management with donors/ fundraisers

Role:The Senior Development Officer ​plays an integral role within the Development Team at Forces Employment Charity (FEC). You will work with the Head of Development to produce high quality, bespoke proposals, and reports to demonstrate impact and outcomes to help drive the delivery of FEC across the UK. You will also work within the team to research and identify new fundraising opportunities from trusts, foundations and companies and convert these into long term business relationships.

Overview / purpose of the role

We’re looking for a Finance & Operations Assistant who is interested in developing a career in bookkeeping and/or accountancy within the nonprofit sector. No previous experience is required, just lots of passion and a motivation to pursue a long-term career in charity finance. The successful candidate will undertake training with the AAT (funded by us) towards a bookkeeping qualification alongside working as our Finance & Operations Assistant, you will be given some time to study during your working hours for this qualification.

The Finance & Operations Assistant is a central resource within CGP, working with colleagues in the Operations Team, and across the organisation to provide financial and operational support to all areas of our work. They will work closely with the Head of Operations & Evaluation to process invoices, expenses and conduct weekly payment runs, ensuring that all financial policies and procedures are carefully adhered to. They will also support colleagues to follow our financial policies and processes and act as the first point of contact for any questions on these procedures. Additionally, they will provide general administrative and operational support to colleagues as outlined in the below job description.  

We do not require the successful candidate to have any particular/specific formal qualifications, you may have just finished education or be looking for a change in career, what you will need is excellent attention to detail and a strong interest in developing a finance career with us.

Responsibilities

Finance

● Managing our accounts payable inbox, monitoring all incoming invoices and following up with team members on any missing information if required

● Processing and coding invoices  in Xero accounting software ahead of weekly payment runs

● Checking that correct coding and approval procedures are followed for staff expenses in Soldo

● Conducting weekly payment runs via our online banking system

● Coordinating our monthly payroll processes (working with external providers)

● Working with the Head of Operations & Evaluation and Director of Finance to support the development of funding proposals

● Working with the Head of Operations & Evaluation and Director of Finance to support financial reporting on grants for external donors

● Supporting the Head of Operations & Evaluation and Director of Finance with general financial administration, record keeping and tracking budgets

● Provide training on expense and invoicing processes to new members of staff and generally acting as the first point of contact for all staff on any finance procedure questions (full training will be provided)

● Supporting the Senior Management Team (SMT) and our Director of Finance to develop the annual organisational budget and report against it quarterly

● Providing budgeting support as required for colleagues internally

 

Office Management & General Operational Support

● Acting as the key point of contact between CGP & our coworking office space (organising memberships, meeting room bookings, invoices, printing credits, equipment, internal events etc.)

● Organising post, stationery supplies and managing stocks of office equipment

● Maintain/organise our filing and cloud storage systems logically and efficiently, in a data protection compliant manner.

● Ad hoc IT support as required, including online troubleshooting and logging support requests with service providers when necessary.

● General administrative support to the CEO and Head of Operations & Evaluation

Human Resources

● Support with recruitment processes within CGP, including assisting members of the team to schedule and coordinate job interviews, contact candidates and file incoming applications.

● Working with the Head of Operations & Evaluation to organise internal events like team away days and staff team building activities.

Person specification

The right candidate is less likely to be defined by their qualifications and prior experience, but will be someone who meets the below criteria, and is ready to learn. They will have an aptitude for maths and finance,  excellent attention to detail and a meticulous, methodical approach to work and troubleshooting.

● Has an interest in developing a career in the nonprofit finance sector and willing to commit to undertaking financial training

● Is broadly supportive of UK Aid

● Is an independent worker, self-starter who can take responsibility for projects through to completion

Location: Islington, London. We are currently trialling a hybrid working model to enjoy the benefits of both office based and remote working. The Inclusion Officer will be responsible for the management, coordination, and delivery of the Trust’s social inclusion programmes across Northamptonshire, this includes the Premier League Kicks programme and anti-crime initiatives. The Premier League Kicks programme is a flagship targeted project, which uses the power of football and sports participation, alongside personal development activities, to help hard-to-reach young people in some of the most high-need areas. 

The Inclusion Officer will be integral to the successful delivery and growth of the Kicks Programme across Northamptonshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day coordination and development of the Kicks programme, as well as other disability and inclusion projects that help to connect communities, leading a team to deliver these initiatives. In addition, the post holder will have frontline delivery responsibility, engaging with young people, leading on the delivery of youth engagement sessions, and the delivery of educational workshops in the local community. 

These will be based on themes including knife crime, equality, anti-social behaviour and mental health. You’ll be passionate about supporting young people to achieve their potential. You’ll use your skills to help inspire, motivate and engage young people so that NTFC CT can enhance life chances and contribute to building stronger, safer, connected communities. This role will require some evening working and a flexible approach is required.

We are looking for a Regional Fundraiser to join our Poppyscotland team to work across the East of Scotland.

You will work with the team of Regional Fundraisers with your main responsibility being to develop, implement and grow supporter-led fundraising across the East of Scotland. You will deliver regional fundraising activities, and recruit and support fundraising volunteers ensuring they have a great experience whilst fundraising for Poppyscotland.  A critical part of this role is also to support our volunteer Scottish Poppy Appeal Area Organisers to maximise their local Poppy Appeal incomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

· Develop, implement and monitor effective operational plans for supporter-led fundraising activities throughout the East of Scotland

· Management and production of Regional fundraising events working with the local businesses and volunteers

· Mentor Poppy Appeal Area Organisers to maximise collections

· Assist with the recruitment, development and training of volunteers

· Undertake fundraising administration duties including maintaining records of all activities, filing, correspondence post, financial reporting and banking

· Developing existing relationships and gaining new relationships with businesses and volunteers in their area through business development management

About the role
As a valued member of our Customer Engagement team, your role will be pivotal in driving our support and fundraising efforts through outbound calling. Your mission is to connect with our British Heart Foundation (BHF) supporters, who are the lifeblood of our organisation.

Here’s how you’ll make a difference:

• Supporter Engagement Specialist: Connecting with our BHF supporters through outbound calls. 
• Fundraising Event Advocate: Promoting major fundraising events like the London Marathon and the London to Brighton Bike Ride.

Working arrangements
