As Complex Needs Practitioner you will engage young people in a variety of interventions, using a person-centred approach, empowering them to reduce risk, increase resilience and achieve positive outcomes.
Birmingham Young People’s Service provides holistic support services for young people 10 to 25 with needs related to alcohol and substance misuse, including those that are affected by a family members alcohol and substance misuse.
All Complex Needs Practitioners are expected to work days, evenings, and weekends across the community and within our multi-agency partnership settings, when required. Which will need a flexible working pattern from the successful candidate. The caseload will include a mixture of community and multi-agency referral pathways including health, social care, education, youth provision, and criminal justice.
As an energetic and confident self-starter, you will have a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or above, Dip SW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we will consider candidates with experience of working in the health & social care field, education settings, alcohol, and substance misuse fields with a commitment to complete NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care.
Experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals and engaging effectively with clients in a variety of settings is essential. You will also need a flexible approach, excellent record keeping and report writing skills. We also work on an outreach basis, with a central hub base at our head office.

Right now, we are looking for someone like you to join our enhanced substance misuse family safeguarding team in Birmingham which specialises in reducing the harms caused to young people and families as a result of parental substance misuse whilst improving parenting ability and family functioning to reduce family breakdown.
Aquarius work with families and young people across a range of home and community settings supporting parents to build insight into the impact of substance misuse whilst developing safety and risk management strategies to minimise risk to the wider family.
Your challenge? To support and deliver a new family model within Birmingham working closely with substance misuse treatment providers, and Childrens Health and Social Care. You will deliver specialist interventions as part of our intensive family support programme exploring risk factors such as substance use, supporting affected adults such as Kinship carers, supporting mental health and reducing parental/family conflict. This will be delivered through 1:1 support, 5 step focused sessions, education groups, family support groups; and accredited parenting programmes including M-PACT. Applicants must be committed to attending training for parent training programmes, as well as contributing to the delivery of hidden harm and FASD training to professionals across Birmingham.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic person to help develop this service and expand the family support options to support complex families in Birmingham with the aim of improving outcomes for all family members affected by parental substance misuse.
An energetic and confident self-starter, you will need a passion for working with families supported by a qualification in health/social care, youth and community work (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or above, DipSW, Mental Health Nursing, Counselling, Addiction Studies). Alternatively, we will consider candidates with experience of working in the substance misuse field. As well as good knowledge of alcohol/drug and health related issues, you will have experience of liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies and health professionals. - Proven record of engaging successfully with ‘challenging’ young adults.
- Experience of assessing risk and implementing safety procedures when thinking about young adults involved in or at risk of violence or exploitation.
- A working knowledge of relevant services for young adults in and around Swansea.
- Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, verbal and written.

About the role

As the demand for our model increases around the world, our income and expenditure are growing in volume and complexity. We are looking for a Finance Officer to support our financial operations through this expansion: recording financial transactions, monitoring internal controls and coordinating with our local foundations about financial management. The role will report to the Finance Director and will work closely with the rest of the team. Key Responsibilities:
Carry out day-to-day financial transactions

About the Role
As a Volunteering Administrator, you will be essential to the coordination of the Volunteering Team’s work in developing a consistent, inclusive and high-quality volunteering offer. This will include managing our busy Mailboxes, processing elements of volunteer recruitment and administrating our volunteer database, Better Impact. You’ll also be supporting volunteer managers through delivering training demonstrations on our database, creating process guides and providing advice. With your social work experience with children and families, you will support birth relatives whose children have a plan for adoption or have been placed for adoption. Working closely with colleagues in Buckinghamshire Council who will refer the relatives to PACT, you will provide support through individual sessions, support groups and drop-in sessions.
This role will include supporting birth relatives to meet with adoptive parents and to help birth relatives understand the importance for children, to keep connected to their relatives and significant people from their past.
Ideally, you will have previous experience of working with birth relatives whose children have been placed for adoption and you will have a good understanding of the adoption process. You will work with relatives from a range of diverse backgrounds, lived experiences and those who may be neuro diverse and you will need to demonstrate understanding, respectfulness and adaptability to your social work practice.

This is a critical role supporting the Chief Innovation, Income and Engagement Officer, Executive Director of Policy & Research and Chief Medical Officer, which will enable them to make the best of use of their time to achieve the biggest difference for people at the end of life.
Based up to three days in our new London office, working with multiple teams and external stakeholders this an exciting and varied role. Working at a fast pace, you will be proactive and efficient always ten steps ahead of events as they unfold. You will be able to adapt your working style to support the different needs of each Director and build strong professional relationships at all levels.
You will be someone who thrives on being busy, never knowing what they will be tasked with next. All in all, a thoroughly organised, personable, confident individual with a can-do attitude whilst demonstrating resilience under pressure. You will lead by example and provide discreet, efficient and responsive administrative, organisational, and logistical support to the respective members of the Executive Leadership team, as a trusted partner.
What we are looking for:
- Highly developed time management, prioritisation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to anticipate respective ELT Directors and business needs, by staying one step ahead.
- Ability to liaise with people at all levels in a highly professional and warm manner, demonstrating professionalism and diplomacy.
- Strong business acumen and gravitas, with enthusiasm to deliver a high quality and effective service and proven experience and ability to deliver excellent customer care and valuing diversity.
- High level of discretion while dealing with confidential information
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and database systems
