Background:
First Step Trust (FST) is a charity that provides work experience, training and employment opportunities for people excluded from working life because of mental health problems or other disadvantages (workforce members).
Our approach is about giving workforce members the chance to overcome some of the difficulties facing them by getting them involved as colleagues. We provide ‘on the job’ training, advice and support to enable each person to improve their basic skills and knowledge of the various work undertaken. This will include supporting workforce members to gain recognised qualifications and access to work placements with our customers and other organisations.
We are in the process of developing a more formalised training and employment support programme (SMaRT Pathways) particularly, but not exclusively, in the area of the Automotive trade. SMaRT Pathways will include the delivery of vocational training through the use of various technologies including video, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality and other mediums making the learning process more accessible to those who struggle with traditional learning methods due to issues around literacy, numeracy and low levels of self-confidence/anxiety.
Job Role:
The main objective of this post is to enable people with mental health difficulties and other disadvantages (workforce members) to engage with and access open employment. The EDTW will achieve this by taking responsibility for proactively recruiting people to the project, overseeing their development whilst at the project, including delivery of training courses as and when required and supporting them to move on to employment or further training.
Main duties:
Networking with other services in the area to raise awareness about FST, promoting work placements and training courses as well as promoting the business services.
Recruitment and development of potential workforce members - being proactive in following up on enquires regarding work placements, interviewing potential workforce for work placements at the project.
Employment support – assist workforce looking to move on to paid employment by providing support in job search, CVs and interview preparation. To develop a network of appropriate work placements by building contacts with local employment agencies and employers to ensure access to work for all workforce preparing to move on from FST.
Training – assisting when required, in delivering a variety of courses both in house and recognised qualifications to people with common mental health problems both workforce members and visiting trainees utilising the various technologies as they are developed.
Monitoring and reporting - complete, manage and provide regular, accurate, appropriate and timely reports to agreed deadlines in order to monitor progress.
Office duties – working with workforce members as colleagues ensuring that daily tasks are completed in a timely fashion.
To work in accordance within the limits and parameters as set out in FST’s policies and procedures, by the Board, Chief Executive, Deputy Chief Executive and other senior managers.
Perform other tasks as reasonably required according to the needs of the project and FST.

As a Support Workers, you will play a key role in supporting our residents to help them to enhance life skills and increase independence. A wide range of co-produced activities take place across the service, designed to empower and improve the daily living skills of customers.
Support Workers in the service work across all 4 projects in Hammersmith and Fulham; working with customers with varying levels of support needs. Many of the customers have complex needs including dual diagnosis and Support Workers are expected to liaise with other agencies within the borough in order to best support customers. Support Workers are expected to support customers on their journey to independence in a person-centred, non-judgemental way, whilst adhering to the Look Ahead core values.

Undertake key-working responsibilities for a caseload assigned by the Team Leader/ Manager
Undertake initial and continuous assessment of needs and potential risks and agree levels of support and actions
Create support/action plans for providing appropriate services based on the assessment and reflecting the services and resources available
Support customers to undertake all domestic tasks wherever possible, including practical assistance where they have not yet developed the skills, to ensure customers enjoy a high quality of accommodation
Develop and maintain links with all key agencies and service providers in the local community
Empower customers to ensure they receive the service and benefits they are entitled to
Undertake all administrative work and keep accurate and comprehensive tenant/customer records to professional standards
Encourage and enable tenants to pay their rent and to ensure that rent accounts are managed effectively in conjunction with the Housing Management team

The Youth Participation Worker will facilitate and develop a Youth steering group, support aftercare for young people leaving treatment, coordinate and facilitate diversionary activities to support young people and their families.

We are now looking for an experienced and innovative individual to support the engagement and outreach of our Young Women’s Service.
The successful candidate will be experienced in developing and delivering creative Gender Based Violence (GBV) prevention programs and confident to successfully engage young women in a wide range of settings including schools, colleges, youth programs & pupil referral units to raise awareness, challenge and positively influence the attitudes and behaviours that normalise GBV in this peer group. You will receive training on delivering GBV Resilience Programs that build psychological and emotional resilience in young people (YP) to strengthen protective factors to promote positive mental and emotional well-being in YP. You will co-produce and deliver training and awareness raising work for professionals, including first responders and managers in GBV related services / mental health provisions, educational centres and non-abusing family members and carers to facilitate appropriate response towards YP at risk.
About you
You will therefore be skilled in nurturing and developing YP voices and active engagement within such forums. You will be skilled at working alongside young women with an acute awareness of how to successfully co-create and co-deliver training packages to professionals and the wider community, thus centralising YP as the leaders and change agents in the project.

Overall Duties of the Senior Supervising Social Worker will include:
- An appropriate social work qualification

A new opportunity has arisen to join a new contract in Lewisham. You will support over 2 properties which supports residents and participants with acute and/or complex mental health needs who are supported/treated in the community in their recovery as appose to hospital inpatient care. ABOUT THE SERVICE
The Integrated Community Rehabilitation Services will enable people to receive a community-based offer and avoid admission into a rehabilitation unit.
The service is across 2 properties in Lewisham (one 8 self contained rooms, and another with 6 self contained rooms) located in close proximity to each another and both will be staffed 24/7 by a minimum of 2 Mental Health Recovery Workers (MHRW) at all times, at each site. This will include Shift Leads to support the Management Team.
These addresses are a short walk from each other and are served by good public transport links; close to Bellingham, Catford and Catford Bridge train stations, and close to bus stops.

CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit organisations across the UK who specialise in adoption services. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the delivery of the programme from mid to late July 2024. The CVAA team work remotely across the UK so location of the postholder is not a barrier to recruitment as long as long as they can travel occasionally and come into London for team days. The team is small, diverse and dynamic. Experience of project management or delivery of training or events is more important than knowledge of adoption or children's social care.
