your key responsibilities:

advice and advocacy

· provide advice, advocacy, support and guidance to service users based around the specific needs presented and/or holistically identified for service users’ in the UK and overseas who are in hardship, living with long-term physical and mental health issues, have caring responsibilities and/or are potentially vulnerable and in distressing or crisis situations. 

· take ownership of a full case workload, prioritising service users’ needs while engaging sensitively, research and propose an appropriate tailored course of action, confirming in writing so as to manage the service user expectations, and agree commitments, facilitating a positive service user journey.

· provide specialist advice and casework to service users with income maximisation, budgeting and challenging welfare benefit decisions, through detailed written submissions at mandatory reconsideration and appeal stages, including representation at first tier tribunal hearings and any other relevant hearings where appropriate.

· maintain safe working practices and ensure that home visits, safeguarding, GDPR and confidentiality procedures and policies are adhered to at all times.

· share insights with support service team and contribute to ongoing service development to ensure that the support meets the evolving needs of the service user.

grant making

· carrying out comprehensive reviews of applications for financial assistance on behalf of service users, writing accurate and impartial ‘reports’, preparing financial statements, making recommendations for donations and presenting to caba’s Support Fund members panel for approval or decline of financial assistance/donations/grants. 

casework management

· work collaboratively with the support services team by providing advice with day to day cases relating to welfare benefits, as well as taking part in technical case reviews with peers in meeting caba’s quality assurance standards.

· support the service users with completing caba’s outcome and feedback survey to capture information to measure impact and improve services

· liaise with internal and external stakeholders to promote and share understanding of caba in house services, economic and social issues affecting our UK and overseas service users

· maintain up-to-date information and input accurate data into the CRM database regarding each service user case and case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring and report preparation.

to be successful, you’ll have:

• extensive knowledge of welfare benefits, health and social care, economic/social issues of those living inside and outside the UK
• case management and processes (advice and advocacy led support)
• person centred working – working with the person at the centre of the support
• safeguarding (adults and children), confidentiality and data protection procedures
• proven knowledge of the charity sector, agencies, contractors and local authorities
• good working knowledge of social security legislation that may impact or affect service users
• working to agreed objectives and within caba’s policies, procedures and processes
• able to plan and manage own workload and meet deadlines
• ability to identify areas for improvement (team services, processes)
• ability to collate information and use it to produce accurate, detailed and objective reports
• excellent administration skills and database and CRM system experience at a reporting and process level
• excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability write clearly and keep accurate records with great attention to detail
• excellent IT skills including the ability to use Word, Excel, Outlook, Dynamics and Microsoft Teams
• extensive experience in an advice and advocacy role providing specialist advice and casework to service users
• substantive experience of providing welfare benefits advice, including up to date knowledge of statutory frameworks (mandatory reconsideration and appeal stages) and the ability to identify implications of change in legislation to welfare benefits 
• experience of dealing with a diverse group of people with complex support needs, living with a disability or long-term health condition acting with integrity and fairness while providing practical, long-term solutions
• experience of quality assurance processes.

The Person
We are looking for confident individuals to join us in this critical work in preventing ongoing sexual harm. You will need to have knowledge and understanding of sexual violence and its impact, strong crisis management skills and skills in providing non-judgemental trauma informed support. The Role
This exciting new role will be required to provide a range of early interventions for children impacted by sexual harm or sexual exploitation.

The post holder will conduct assessments, provide recommendations, provide time limited non-criminal justice advocacy and psychosocial education to support the needs of children and young people who have either experienced sexual harm or may have caused sexual harm to others.

Tasks include:

- To undertake risk and needs assessments (including specialist AIM assessment where required for children who have caused sexual harm) and undertake associated report writing and recommendations.
- To provide time limited non- criminal justice advocacy, psychosocial education and support to children and young people and their families who have experienced sexual violence/have caused sexual harm to others.
- To develop and deliver interventions based on individual needs of clients.
- Collaborate and support a range of multiagency partners to ensure the most appropriate pathway of support for the individual survivor.
- Advocate on behalf of those impacted by sexual harm to ensure they can have access to a range of services based on need.
- Carry out institutional advocacy and stakeholder engagement and communication to enhance to wellbeing of all survivors of sexual violence.
- Ensure all risk and safeguarding processes and procedures are followed.
- To undertake evaluation and outcome meetings and data reporting to ensure continuous development of services.
- To support the group work facilitation of the delivery of psychosocial education in schools, colleges and community settings.
- Represent and promote WMRSASC in meetings and events.

We have roles focused in Herefordshire and Shropshire, all role holders will be expected to travel across West Mercia as and when there is a need.

Role responsibilities 

As the Initial Support Lead, you will: 

• work innovatively to shape the concept of an Initial Support Pathway, with a view to assisting agencies in identifying, safeguarding, and supporting potential adult victims. This may require the delivery of awareness raising sessions, whilst also working closely with First Responders to tactically advise in a manner that secures the best outcome for victims. 

• lead on the provision of direct support to potential victims of trafficking, ensuring they receive independent advocacy, helping them navigate services, benefits, and the advice they need.

The Initial Support Pathway will provide short-term support to adults who have experienced exploitation. The pathway initially focuses on the individual’s basic needs such as safety, food, clothing, accommodation, subsistence, and access to medical services. The project then considers each individual’s rights and entitlement to support as a potential victim of modern slavery. The key principle of the project is informed choice for the individual. Although the initial support is short and temporary, the long-term impacts for victims can be significant. 

Essential role requirements 

• Experience in health, social work, or working with vulnerable adults. 

• Knowledge of the impact of modern slavery and human trafficking on an individual. 

• A good understanding and awareness of the rights and entitlements (including immigration, housing, and benefits legislation) of migrants, trafficked persons, asylum seekers and refugees. 

• Able to work autonomously and take initiative working under pressure. 

• To provide trauma informed care.

• Experience of developing service delivery including partnership engagement. 

• Take a lead approach in multi-disciplinary settings ensuring best outcomes for individuals. 

• Proven experience of carrying out needs and/or risk assessments and the support planning process. 

• An empathetic and compassionate outlook, whilst being able to maintain professional boundaries with those you work with.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with a range of audiences. 

• Travel across Derby and Derbyshire is key to this role. The candidate will need to have a vehicle and valid driving licence. Mileage costs to be reimbursed.   

• Good people skills especially with those whom English is not the first language. 

• Ability to communicate with individuals via interpreters.

• Discretion and work in accordance with the Data Protection Act. 

• Some occasional weekend and evening work may be required.

Desirable role requirements 

• Experience of adult safeguarding would be advantageous. 

• Good understanding of the trafficking care standards and how they underpin practice. 

• Awareness of emerging themes in the Modern Slavery sector 

• Experience of delivering awareness raising sessions

The work will focus on preventing domestic abuse by providing support and facilitating safe space for children and young people and peer support networks in the refuge and supporting children and young people to keep safe in/maintain their refuge accommodation

We are hiring a Mental Health Floating Support Coordinator to support our Luton Service which delivers support to individuals living within the community who have support needs pertaining to their mental health and wellbeing. The service works alongside statutory services, with the aim of moving people on to independent living within two years. You will empower and motivate our residents and participants to achieve their personal goals and gain greater independence, which enables them to reintegrate into the community and lead fulfilling lives. The support offered is tailored to the individual needs of the participants and residents through a recovery based model.

• Our clients have a primary mental health need, including complex needs and dual diagnosis

All our clients have a personalised support plans and proactive support work, to engage them with the opportunities available to them to live independently in the community, develop their social skills and independent living skills. What we are looking for:

• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, including in the criminal justice field, mental health, and/or substance misuse or a good understanding of the sector
• Understanding of the housing and social needs of people with multiple and complex needs
• Able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others

What we would like, but not essential:

• Appropriate qualification: NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Health & Social Care/Community Justice, or professional equivalent
• Experience of providing housing support and a practical assistance within a residential or outreach support role
• Experience creating co-produced support plans and providing appropriate interventions for service user and liaising with other professionals

As a Project / Support Worker Complex Needs, your role will be to provide support to clients to enable them to understand their support needs and to manage these effectively.  You will hold a caseload of clients and be responsible for helping them to identify short term objectives, meet their goals and complete risk assessments. You will also support clients to develop their living skills, develop and manage relationships, build social networks and to access various services.

About you:

• Previous experience of working in the health and social care, supporting vulnerable people, rough sleepers or people with complex mental health, physical health or substance use support needs.

Are you a creative person looking for a role where you will make a difference to people experiencing homelessness in Bristol?

We are looking for a Complex Caseworker to join our Rough Sleeping Navigator team in Bristol who provide intensive support to male clients with complex needs experiencing homelessness. This passionate team offer person centred support service to help people who require a specialist intervention approach to support them through the transition from rough sleeping into sustainable accommodation.

In this role you will work collaboratively with the Rough Sleeper Navigator Coordinator and Outreach team as well as relevant partner agencies in Bristol to deliver sustainable outcomes to a male cohort of clients.

• You will advocate for clients who have been some of the most marginalised in the local area, to make a real and long lasting difference to their recovery.
• You will be responsible for overseeing a caseload of clients and providing day to day support to clients with their transition from the streets into accommodation and independent living with a strong focus on tenancy sustainment and rescue.
• This includes working with people on health, housing, employment and training support. You will be given support to build strong relationships with a range of other services to find creative and sustainable routes to recovery for clients.

We have a great opportunity for a Supported Housing Manager to join our Specialist Housing Team on a permanent basis. Based from our offices in Christchurch or Exeter, you’ll lead our teams across the South region, working flexibly between our offices and home.

Our Specialist Housing team provide a wide range of housing management services, including temporary accommodation for adults, young people and families at risk of homelessness, Housing First tenancies, housing for adults and young people with disabilities or mental illness, those experiencing domestic abuse, extra care housing and individual properties for customers with identified support needs.

The Role

You'll lead, manage and motivate a team responsible for providing a range of housing management services to our supported housing residents, working collaboratively with colleagues across our supported housing schemes, our Locality teams, related Customer functions and support services. You will ensure that our supported housing is managed in line with contractual obligations, taking responsibility for financial performance and lettings while regularly identifying service improvements and maintaining high quality data.

Responsibilities include:

• Delivery of a consistent high-quality customer-centric support services, such as allocations, income, and tenancy management
• The operational performance for an area of our supported housing, managing key areas such as health and safety, compliance, finance, customer satisfaction, and lettings
• Partnership working – building and managing our relationships with a range of local authorities and external partners
• Ensuring that services are delivered within approved budgets, in accordance with contractual requirements and within legislative and regulatory frameworks and best practice
• Leading on investigation of complaints and cases of anti-social behaviour, ensuring resolution
• Taking responsibility for ensuring that we provide our residents with a safe living environment, that staff and contractors are working in a safe fashion

What you'll need

You should have previous experience in a similar role, either with a background from within housing or experience with partnership working and leading successful teams. Knowledge across specialist housing is advantageous but not essential. You’ll also need:

• Demonstrable team leadership experience, developing and supporting a high performing team
• Excellent stakeholder management experience, with an ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Effective communication skills, influencing and adding challenge where needed

Head of Healthy Active Children

This is an exciting opportunity to join Active Oxfordshire in a senior management position, working with a fantastic team and multiple partners across the county. The role is indicative of the growth of Active Oxfordshire and the strategic relevance of physical activity in Oxfordshire, especially for children and young people. 

About the role:

Too few children in Oxfordshire get the opportunity to be active. We work with partners to tackle inequalities so that every child and young person in the county can have the best possible active start in life. 

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Active Oxfordshire, the successful candidate will lead the development and growth of our Healthy Active Children strategic work, build relationships with partners, line manage two members of the team and ensure our Healthy Active Children programmes of work complement each other.

About you:

 You will have experience in identifying strategic opportunities and the ability to develop and nurture relationships at a senior level in partner organisations.
As an experienced line manager, you will be able to bring people together around a specific agenda and create a sense of energy and purpose. 
You will have experience in managing budgets and identifying clear priorities to manage an interconnected workload.
A strong enthusiasm for our cause is a must, as well as the ability to articulate a compelling case for why physical activity is important for children and young people 

What we offer:

This is a fixed-term contract, initially for 18 months.  The role is a part-time position, working 3 days / 22.5 hours per week.
You will receive a salary of £27,810 (based on a 22.5 hour week, which is a full-time equivalent salary of £46,350) and benefits including a generous 10% contributory pension scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, 38 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata) and our new bespoke Employee Support and Wellbeing Programme. 
Hybrid working is available, which means typically one day a week is in the office (Monday) with the rest of the week working remotely from home, within the community or with partner organisations.

The situation has got worse as a result of widening health inequalities, which means that thousands of vulnerable residents are missing out on the opportunities they deserve to live an active life.
