We are looking for an enthusiastic fundraiser to create and grow income opportunities through events and community activities for the Neuromuscular Centre; a charity in Winsford that provides a range of unique, specialist services for people with neuromuscular conditions. The Centre is a warm, vibrant community that exists as the only one of its kind in the UK and Europe. You'll be joining a successful fundraising team that together raises £500,000 per year, and a charity that has been enhancing the quality of life for people affected by neuromuscular conditions for 34 years.

You’ll be maintaining NMC’s existing events calendar, as well as having the autonomy to develop the calendar further and put your own stamp on it. You’ll also be managing our community fundraising income, which includes individual giving, lottery, working with local groups and supporting individuals with their own fundraising activities. You will be developing and building relationships with new and existing supporters to maximise fundraising potential, as well as recruiting and managing volunteers from all walks of life.

We’re looking for someone with previous fundraising experience, with the ambition to take this to new levels. This is a really immersive role, working with the charity's supporters and donors, while at the same time being based where the charity operates. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Risk & Assurance Manager to join our Audit, Risk & Governance Team. This role will require the successful candidate to support to the Head of Audit, Risk & Governance in the implementation and oversight of effective risk management and assurance policies and procedures for the whole organisation.

Role Requirements

 You will attend the Audit & Risk Committee and other board committees from time to time to present on risk and assurance.  With experience of delivering 2nd line risk and assurance activities within large, complex or heavily regulated organisation, you will be effective in building professional relationships and influencing and collaborating with colleagues from all disciplines and at all levels. 

You will need to engage effectively with frontline and support colleagues to really understand the needs of our beneficiaries and the risks to the charity more broadly.  The ultimate objective of risk management at The Children’s Trust is to ensure the charity continues to deliver high-quality, safe and effective and financially sustainable services for vulnerable children now and in the longer-term.

Although the role does not have any formal direct reports, the Risk & Assurance Analyst will have a dotted line into the Risk & Assurance Manager, providing support particularly on business continuity but also on risk management as and when necessary.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

New Horizon Youth Centre has been commissioned by the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) as part of an Alliance with Safer London, St Giles Trust and the Anna Freud Centre to deliver on their Children and Young People’s Violence and Exploitation and Reduction support service. The commission will run from June 2024 for three years. As part of this, an additional service will be set up within the NHYC Youth Justice team specifically to deliver on the Alliance contract. This will include a team of Housing Caseworkers who will carry out assessments and advocacy work with young people under 25 who are fleeing violence and exploitation, in order to move them on successfully into both emergency and long-term housing options. You should be passionate about working with this client group, able to manage a fast-moving caseload, and committed to working collaboratively with a team across multiple services.

• I provide effective line management to staff, including dealing with conduct, performance and attendance issues under relevant policies and procedures. 
• I recruit the best talent, managing the recruitment of staff as the selection panel leader, ensuring compliance with Recruitment & Selection policy and Equality legislation. 

Some of the essential skills and experience required:

• I have achieved (or working towards) Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health & Social Care or the equivalent.
• 2 years relevant experience in an operational management capacity in a health/social care setting. 
• Knowledge and understanding of the current legal responsibilities and standards for CQC registered services, including the need for the management and delivery of person-centred services. 
• Experience of providing effective supervision, leadership and management of staff. 
• Must have experience of directly working with people with a severe mental illness.
• Must have experience of working within statutory agencies.

As our Finance Manager you will be at the heart of the charity’s operations and play a vital role in helping us embark on a new 3-year strategy. • Ensure the accommodation in which residents live is clean and maintained to a high standard
• Ensure all repairs and maintenance issues are correctly reported and managed through to completion.
• Ensure a provision of high quality housing management service is provided to residents. 

Financial Management

• Manage the service budget and review monthly management accounts: Set budgets and ensure resources are maximised.
• Promote effective cost control mechanisms and other financial activities.
• Maintain financial management within the service.

Other

• Some of what else is included: Contract management and Internal auditing, admin, and general other duties as required.

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Understanding and/or experience of working with people of complex backgrounds, ex-offenders, mental health, substance misuse, challenging behaviours
• Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
• Previous experience in people management and development
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software.
• Ability to promote the service and provide outreach-based provision, with an ability to liaise and work effectively in partnership with stakeholders
• Understanding of Housing Management, including voids and evictions

Job Summary

The Haringey Community Collaborative Manager is responsible for leading the development of the VCS Capacity Building strategy and the effective co-ordination of the Community Collaborative team which includes a Communications and Engagement Officer, a Workplace Development Manager, and a Capacity Building Manager.

We envisage the Haringey Community Collaborative Manager performing at either a primarily operational level or, for a more experienced candidate, at both operational and strategic levels. The salary range reflects this, with the upper end of the salary range reserved for candidates who can demonstrate an ability to deliver at both the operational and strategic levels.

Operationally, the postholder will have specific management responsibility for co-developing priorities for local VCS funding and capacity building, as well as the Volunteer Centre and wider VCS community of practice. Strategically, the role would include a wider contribution to the strategic management and development of Public Voice, supporting the CEO as required. You may currently be working as an experienced supervisor or manager within our service and looking to step up to a more senior management role or transfer to a different local office to add breadth to your experience. Either way, we are keen to hear from you!

The role of Operations Manager sits within the Management Team.

The Role

The role of Operations Manager is critical to the long-term sustainability of the charity and plays a pivotal part in ensuring that we remain both relevant and necessary.

This role involves:

• Oversight and responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of guest services
• Line management and HR responsibility for the operational team
• Oversight and responsibility for health and safety organisation-wide
• Implementation and delivery of new guest services
• Review and development of existing guest services
• IT/technical responsibility – system admin/super-user
• Reporting and responsibility for specific budgets
• Guest/beneficiary satisfaction – ensuring consistently high standard of service and satisfaction is achieved across all areas
• Impact and outcome tracking/reporting
• Training/mentoring/performance management
• Support with grant application preparation and reporting
• Deputising for the CEO in operational matters
• Facilities/estates management
• Stakeholder engagement/relationship management
• Events organisation/support
• Representing Hearts Together externally at networking events, including occasional evening work.
• Travel as required to meet with supporters, beneficiaries and key stakeholders.

Person Specification:

Essential Requirements:

• Strong HR background in terms of leading others and managing HR matters/employee relations
• Demonstrable experience of working to targets and delivering quality outputs collaboratively with others
• Confident and sophisticated communicator
• Strong customer/supporter focus, with excellent interpersonal skills
• The ability to manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced customer focused environment
• Financial and business acumen – ability to draft budgets, report on variances and interpret financial data
• Strong report writing skills
• Knowledge and experience of facilities management and health and safety, including food hygiene, risk assessments and policy writing
• Confident and proficient in the use of IT systems as a user admin/super-user level
• Highly motivated, with a strong work ethic
• A team player, happy working within a ‘flat’ hierarchy

Desirable Requirements:

• An undergraduate degree or professional qualification in a relevant field
• Experience within the Charity sector
• Experience of hotel/hospitality management
