As the charity’s most senior employee, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the charity’s work. You will report to the Board of Trustees and work with them to shape the strategic direction of the charity in supporting LGBTQ+ young people.
You will bring with you a comprehensive awareness and understanding of the key issues and challenges faced by LGBTQ+ young people and communities and be responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders and the wider public. You will also be a confident public speaker, representing the charity at events and in the media, and in the delivery of consultancy and advice work.
You will also have a strong track record of effective financial management, income generation from a diverse range of sources and monitoring and evaluating work for grant and contract funders.
In addition to all of these skills and attributes you will be able to bring your extensive leadership experience to the role, overseeing a skilled team of project and development workers and volunteers, and providing direct line management to our charity managers.

Finance Officer

Job Purpose:-

Who are you?
You should be accomplished in Sage 50 Accounts and have considerable experience working in a finance function and in financial administration.
Some experience of working with Salesforce or an equivalent CRM database and an accountancy qualification or studying towards a professional qualification ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CIPFA) or AAT qualified. Experience of working in the Voluntary Sector, paid or unpaid would be great.
You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills (a natural ability to clearly communicate financial information to those with a non-finance background). You need to have proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and experience in database and payroll systems.
It would be amazing for you to have high level of attention to detail and methodical working, be a self-starter and be able to use initiative.

How you will make a difference
Your role will enable smooth and efficient financial and administrative workflows at GFI Europe. Reporting to the Head of Operations, your work will fall under the following categories:
50% of time – Payment processing and bookkeeping
- Making payments correctly and on time with respect to invoices, direct debit setup, expense reimbursements, as well as salaries and payroll taxes.
- Day-to-day bookkeeping, including registering journal entries and all financial transactions in our accounting software (currently Quickbooks), and supporting monthly reconciliations.
- Coordinating the calculation and payment of quarterly reverse-charged cross-border VAT payments.
- Where there are opportunities for improvement, working in partnership with colleagues from the Operations team to implement systems that facilitate easier and more efficient payment processes.
25% of time – Budget forecast and reporting
- Forecasting regular and recurring expenses for the annual budgeting process and for periodic budget reviews.
- Preparing monthly updates on budget spending per department / project.
- Collaborating with our Development team to track and report against restricted donations.
- Organising information needed for the Belgium annual financial audit process as well as for UK financial reporting.
25% of time – General administration
- Supporting governance, compliance and reporting for our Belgium entity, as well as the UK branch of GFI Europe and potentially other entities in the future.
- Supporting other departments with contract administration by inputting partnership data in templates, filling in relevant forms, coordinating signatures, organising and keeping track of finalised agreements.
- Performing other tasks as required as a member of our small, dynamic team.
Who we’re looking for
You must have:
- A passion for GFI’s philosophy and mission.

Benefits and the fine print
- Terms of employment: Part-time (27-30 hours / week). Flexible working hours.
- Location: We can consider applicants based in the UK or Belgium. This is a remote role, and you will be able to work from home, or anywhere you choose (within the UK or Belgium). We are happy to consider supporting costs for co-working to enable you to work from an office if you wish. The whole GFI Europe team aims to get together in person approximately twice per year for around 3-5 days at a time. Travel costs will be covered by GFI Europe within our travel policy.
- Salary and benefits: The salary and benefits package for all of our roles are researched and benchmarked based on similar nonprofit roles in the country/location of hire. Full-time (to be pro-rated) ranges (total amounts received in gross salary plus benefits including home-working allowance) are:
- €2,500 – 3,000 monthly if based in Belgium, plus 13th month and holiday pay
- £31,600 – 36,000 annually if based in the UK

Community Fundraising Manager
The Mencap Community and Events Team has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, motivated and passionate fundraiser, dedicated to raising as much funds as possible to help make the UK the best place to live for people with a learning disability to join our team as Senior Community Fundraising Manager covering England and Wales.
Covering the England and Wales the Community Fundraising Manager will be responsible for managing various income streams across the Community portfolio working closely with the wider team.
Within this role, you will achieve agreed fundraising targets through effective management, support and cultivation of both existing and new regional supporters including: individuals, groups, associations, local corporates and schools whilst maximising the current portfolio of Mencap owned products. The Senior Finance Officer will sit at the heart of our Operations Team, reporting to the Head of Operations and the Co-CEOs and playing a crucial function in ensuring the efficient day-to-day management of the organisation’s financial functions.
This will include all day-to-day management of our financial systems and banking, including our accountancy software (Quickbooks) and our internal financial spreadsheets. About the role
The St Pancras Community Association (SPCA) is a charity delivering high quality services for Camden residents, especially the lively and diverse community of the St Pancras and Somers Town ward. The Director of Corporate Services opportunity is a pivotal position overseeing Finance and Procurement as well as outsourced HR & IT. You will be joining the charity at a time of transformation, supporting in the delivery of a new strategy focussing on the delivery of core programmes for Lumos globally. As a key member of the Executive Leadership Team, you will work closely with the CEO, Trustees and wider global team to ensure the running of corporate services to enable Lumos’ work supporting children globally.
Duties will include though may not be limited to the following:
- Lead and develop the Finance department
- Maintain appropriate financial systems and sound controls, ensuring Lumos complies with all financial regulatory requirements
- Ensure comprehensive and reliable financial information is available to support financial decision-making processes
- Lead budgeting and forecasting with a strong focus on cash flow
- Provide financial information to the CEO, Board and its committees, including management accounts and regular cashflow forecasts
- As well as in-house finance and procurement, you will oversee outsourced contracts with HR & IT, identifying areas for improvement where necessary
- Identify and implement improvements to Lumos finance systems, procurement, and accounting practices
About You
You will be a qualified accountant with senior finance experience having operated at senior management level.
Experience in the charities and not-for-profit sector may be beneficial though candidates from all sector backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Operating Officer to join the team in this hybrid-working role.

About the Role
Our team currently consists of 8 dedicated staff members and is led by our CEO, Anne Bishop. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a new role for BAUS. It will be a key part of our Senior Leadership Team, playing a vital part in the development and implementation of our strategy and deputising for the Chief Executive.
The COO role provides the essential financial stability and operational facilities to enable future growth through leadership and management of finance, maintaining and developing our IT infrastructure, and ensuring effective governance and regulatory compliance.
